S3EP9
Spoilers ahead
Well fellow SATC fans, it’s the episode we’ve all been waiting for! And I’m even prepared to forgive the fact that we have been short changed another week with a less than35 minute episode because..Hallelujah, the scales are fallen from Carrie’s rose-tinted eyes and Aidan is finally in the bin where he belongs 🥳
TBF to the writers, the tension did build nicely up to the actual event as the start of the episode left me feeling “surely not, she’s not gonna forgive this unbelievable red flag behaviour” but in the end they came through and gave the fans what they wanted. Poor old big even got a mention by name this week week - so that’s progress. And we finally got to understand why Duncan smokes a pipe…although his research is not quite right/pretentious..as why would you need to smoke a pipe to understand a woman who never smoked one? And Mrs T would’ve been 11 when she went to the high school, not 10?
There were of course distressing kitchen hygiene scenes again this week - who seriously leaves at least $100 worth of uncooked raw steak on the side and doesn’t cover it and put it in the fridge? Or leaves garlic and herbs on a wooden chopping board for all of the smells and oils to seep into the wood so that the next time you try and cut an orange it just tastes of onion? No cost of living crisis for Carrie I guess. Maybe the woman stays thin because she permanently has food poisoning 😂
loved loved loved Anthony standing off with Gia 👏👏👏 And with a DH like Herbert, I can confirm that you absolutely do have to hide all of the ‘bad’ food stuffs because a period of stress for him does manifest itself like a plague of locusts has hit my kitchen… in other news, it does look like Miranda is gonna have her happy ever after ending, and LTW seems to have got over her midlife crisis.. but the mystery of where all of the runners have gone on the apartment floor to appease Duncan still remains…Charlotte and Harry definitely got the bum scenes this week but a gratuitous shot of Richard Burton made up for that.
Fashion wise, it’s clear that Bergdorf Goodman have done a deal with some extreme product placement this season, but their shoe department is to die for and the service is amazing. A definite happy place for me! Obviously, we have to talk about Cary dressed as a modern day, Julie Andrews - bloody dreadful outfit. But I did love the pink silk kaftan that she stormed off to bed in and the beautiful dress that she wears to go to dinner at the end. I also loved the brown outfit that Seema wears at the end, I’m pretty sure it’s by Norma Kamali and I have a dress in the same material and it’s a lovely thing to wear 🥰
So whilst I feel incredibly short changed by the length of the episode, it was ultimately a satisfying watch this week. Made even better by the fact that the producers of obviously realise that JC cannot cry on camera and spared us from that ordeal. Cheerio Aidan, I hope we never have to see you or your wank truck ever again. Which made me think…
‘The woman wondered if maybe the whole series of events leading to the break up had been engineered by her cat Shoe’
I mean, cats are basically evil overlords and she probably wanted the room back to herself so it is within the realms of possibility 😂
