Totally agree on NYC. We’re seeing very little of it. A good podcast said that in NY you get access to places either because you’re cool or you’re wealthy. SATC was cool and AJLT is wealth. The cool places are way more interesting to see. Although they’re spending most of their time sitting in Hot Balls or whatever it’s called.

The novel is clearly teeth gnashingly awful. She’s done zero apparent research and Carrie has had no interest in history that we’ve ever seen. It’s obviously ‘her’ but yet another poor writing decision - they needed more critical friends in the room.

Aren’t the gallerinas embarrassed never to have heard of Tracey Emin? Or Stacey Erin or whoever we’re pretending originally created the bed so the show doesn’t have to pay the artist anything? Surely the huge modern British art scene made some appearance in their art history studies? Can we talk about how art work like that was part of the path to the deeply diverse lives they are all now able to live rather than sniggering about fake sperm?

Carrie’s writing is dreadful, full of tropes. I mean, it always has been. For someone who wrote a sex column she was also a terrible prude.

I don’t get the Aiden thing. Is it a penance for cheating on him all those decades ago? She treated him badly and so now has to put up with all his awful behaviours? My suspicion is he’ll be dumped in the next couple of episodes.

No, that was the previous season where there was only 8 episodes rather than 18-20, as both SJP and Cynthia Nixon were pregnant while filming. Ironically it was the season that came right after Miranda had Brady.

And now of course, 8 episodes a season is fairly standard for a series!

Yes I thought not referring to Tracy Emin was really odd, but then there wasn't much appreciation of her work in that scene, more like piss take and revulsion; and if those women in the gallery have art history degrees, surely they have heard of her and the iconic bed? I think it deliberately wasn’t ‘her’ bed. They mentioned it being an 80s work and her bed didn’t have any one in it. I read somewhere earlier than they’ve done similar in Charlotte’s gallery before with other artwork different enough to avoid any sort of royalty payment.

But it struck a really bum note. Tracey Emin’s bed is genuinely (not TikTok) iconic so given that anyone watching with any awareness would know that, it then made the young staff look ill-qualified.

Given he was selling poems for a dollar when Charlotte first saw him, I guess Giuseppe had to have a solid passive income. But to make him 'mummy casually offers to drop a couple of million on a Basquiat' rich really feels like the show hates the poors.

Just more poor writing I would say. Nothing about Guiseppe, Hot Fellas or Gia feels remotely in the realm of reality or remotely in the SATC universe (!) - I mean, Samantha wouldn’t be seen dead in that coffee shop to have actual coffee in, its just a one note joke they’ve stretched out for lack of ideas

Super boring episode this week, I actually FF 10 second chunks over some of it.

Seema and Adam is Samantha and Smith (albeit with some sort of twist on his wealth, will probably partner up for some property development type thing)

Carrie with acid reflux and Charlotte this week with vertigo, like a menopausal checklist. I’m hoping it’s just to reflect all the little health niggles that strike you at this time of life.

Aiden is being all ‘the Russian’ esque, remember how Carrie would cancel and prioritise him over friends. I think they’re going to show how she falls for this again, how she doesn’t stop controlling behaviour as it’s her way of being the supportive partner, etc.

V.boring, filler episode, need it to step back up again.

SJP is looking stunning in this series. Can’t quite work out what it is, though I’ve noticed she has stopped using Botox as her ‘11s’ are back.

Maybe been mentioned before but why is this series called And Just Like That? I know Carrie says it a lot in SATC…any ideas?

I think that there will be another series but that will be the last. It will wrap most things up and then in a couple of years, a new off shoot series will spring up.

Maybe something like Megan makes jam but Carrie makes Cheese on Aidens Farm. A Bridget Jones mashup.

Aiden won’t be in it, having passed away after a tragic farm tractor mishap (he gets baled) and she will make a new life in Virginia, raising rabbits and thrift store shopping. Wyatt is the local Sheriff.

We will all hate it, except for the episodes when NYers visit.

Yes. After shitting herself in SATC 1, cameltoe in SATC2, Period blood on her trousers in AJLT series 1, and Harry's jizz in AJLT 2, it was high time Charlotte was humiliated again with some genitalia based mishap, preferably with a bodily fluid involved. Kristen Davis is an executive producer, so is no doubt being paid top dollar for gentle, refined Charlotte being debased by the writers.
