Bernie Taylor a criminal mastermind then..
So ridiculous that Suki wouldn’t check up on the GP surgery to see if it’s actually been done or what was being invoiced.

Since when did Bernie start working for Ravi and who knew Vicky was an accountant

Nish appointed Bernie as a trustee in his will, so she’s responsible for the businesses he left to his grandchildren until they turn 18.
Not sure of any connection to Ravi though as he was totally left out of the will.

Shellingbynight · 27/06/2025 08:10

They really did not tell us at any point that Vicki is an accountant did they? None of us remember this happening! Why did they have to make Vicki such an unpleasant person, we've already got plenty of those.

I don't think Elaine will be sticking around and I am not sure George or Johnny will either. No idea where Linda will live but she must be heavily involved in Max's return.

So Bernie's exit is going to be running off to her mum with a pocket full of cash. The writing is so slapdash though. As if Suki would just take Bernie's word for anything.

Where did Ravi get the money for that car though? I thought he had stopped the dodgy dealings.

I liked Phil and Linda's talk in the caff. They really are two of the best actors and it is good to see them in scenes together. It does make complete sense that Linda does not want to stay in the Vic.

OpalescentFruit · 27/06/2025 08:58

Why would Ravi even need a car? He lives less than 5 minutes walk from his work, the Vic and the club. Nobody leaves the square so why anyone would drive is beyond me.

MadisonAvenue · 27/06/2025 09:02

Vicki being an accountant is new news to me, suddenly she’s sitting in the caff working with a laptop.

It’s hard to see where storylines will come from for the likes of Elaine, George and Johnny once they’re out of the Vic, well George already is of course.

I see that Julie is coming back for Nigel’s storyline. No surprise, especially with all of the mentions of her recently.

Shellingbynight · 27/06/2025 09:37

I don't actually remember Julie back then but it's great it is the original actress.

MadisonAvenue · 27/06/2025 10:03

I remember her but don’t actually remember any of her storylines apart from her being a teacher and then going to Scotland with Nigel.

JessyCarr · 27/06/2025 10:09

She wasn’t around for long originally, I don’t think. She was Clare’s teacher and mother of Clare’s boyfriend. She and Nigel bonded over a school drama production and then she was going to move to Scotland for some reason. Nigel nearly missed the moment to tell her how he felt, but at the last minute he and Clare jumped into the taxi or something and off they all went together.

the80sweregreat · 27/06/2025 10:31

I can see a George / Nicola hook up and maybe Linda and her kids renting a place.
Not sure about Elaine tbh , what will she do or maybe she’ll leave ? She only knows pubs.

gingercat02 · 27/06/2025 10:40

That scene with Linda and Jonny was lovely, she has had a terrible life despite her and Mick being so in love.
Teen mum, rape survivor, alcoholic, betrayed by the love of her life, ND child, ONS baby with Max, shit support from her mother and adult children.
I think Carter clan will all go, hence the Vic sale.

I hate when they just bounce something into the storyline with no background (Vicky accountant/book keeper) who employed her Bernie? Ravi?
The only point of her and her partner is the Joel incel story.

I hope the new bloke does carry on getting rid of the pointless characters

the80sweregreat · 27/06/2025 10:49

Vicki and her laptop , do me a favour as Kim would say!

Eastie77Returns · 27/06/2025 10:57

Vicky as an accountant is laughable. There must be confusion behind the scenes at EE with different writers etc which clearly shows as there is no proper back story character development or continuity. They could easily have inserted references to her having to take leave from her Accounting job in Australia to attend the funeral, she could have offered to help Aunty Kath with the bookeeping for the Albert, Cafe etc which would have set her up in our minds as an Accountant.

Instead she has been doing absolutely nothing since she arrived and then boom, laptop out and financial genius.

Ravi has never driven a car previously although I suppose he would have needed one for all his past misdeeds, getting rid of Ranvir's body, driving Eve to the forest to kill her, running drugs for Nicola...

I suppose Bernie's can go to Spain with the stolen money and it will be a useful top-up for Karen and Mitch as the £££ they stole from Phil must have run out by now!

AlwaysBeingMe · 27/06/2025 11:00

Certainly quite a few plot holes 😂

OpalescentFruit · 27/06/2025 11:02

"Ravi has never driven a car previously although I suppose he would have needed one for all his past misdeeds, getting rid of Ranvir's body, driving Eve to the forest to kill her, running drugs for Nicola..."

Ravi's errand list is very different to the rest of us who go to supermarkets and medical appointments!

the80sweregreat · 27/06/2025 11:10

Ravi’s face when Vicki was discussing the ‘laundry’ of all money. Trouble is it’s our Bernie who is fleecing them all and trying to be a female Phil Mitchell.
It doesn’t fool me.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/06/2025 13:13

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2025 13:35

The Mitchells not invited to the Vic do was strange as he knows them all. I hope the shops don’t go down the ‘ half Christmas’ idea , but I know that QVC used to do a Christmas shop in June ( dunno if they still do )

QVC Christmas in July

And , yes, they still do it Xmas Grin

It used to be good back in the day (I used to take a day of A/L ) but now they have everything online to view , it is random hours and it wassn't even i=on the 25th Shock

Used to be really nice products from USA but it's a bit meh now .

OpalescentFruit · 27/06/2025 13:22

Ravi couldn't afford to take Avani on holiday a few weeks ago. Now a new car...?

the80sweregreat · 27/06/2025 13:30

Oh yes! Ravi couldn’t take Avani abroad and now he has a new motor !

Eastie77Returns · 27/06/2025 13:56

Completely forgot about that, well remembered! She wanted to go to Spain and he was saying he could only manage a couple of days in Bournemouth or something. Nicola conveniently overheard and tried to pay him to move Shireen's body.

I'm also sure Bernie and Felix were homeless after they had to move out of Gray's house but there has been no mention whatsover as to where they live now. It's all so disjointed.

Shellingbynight · 27/06/2025 14:01

I agree a lot of the plotting in the past few weeks has been disjointed and nonsensical. Characters randomly have money or become an accountant, or have a one night stand or disappear to Australia, or become criminal masterminds. It all feels like 'this is what needs to happen for the plot, who cares if it makes any sense'. It's hard to get invested in when you are constantly thinking WTF!

Eastie77Returns · 27/06/2025 15:52

EE just doesn't operate in the real world. Ian and Sharon have been in Australia for months with no good reason. Both are business owners, Ian has upped and left his family following devastating news about his new grandson and Sharon has a young child who can apparently miss school for months on end at the drop of a hat. Lily is 14 and vulnerable. Left home in a cab in the middle of the night with a baby...no-one within social services /education welfare is chasing up, none of the Brannings had anything to say about her spiriting Charli away. Ok.

NowNumber5 · 27/06/2025 16:35

@Eastie77Returns Goodness, I had all but forgotten about the BabyJimmy storyline.
Lily leaving was so silly. As if she could literally leave that night!

the80sweregreat · 27/06/2025 16:43

It’s like a giant jigsaw at the moment isn’t it ! Bits here, something else over there, bits missing.
How they can afford the fare to Australia I’ve no idea either let alone live there for months ( do you need visas ?)

NowNumber5 · 27/06/2025 16:49

Yes, thank goodness for this thread to keep me in the loop @the80sweregreat 😅

The visas are another sticking point - you can book a ticket AND have all the documents in place in a matter of hours?!
Only on EE!
