I get the impression that lily isn’t his type…

I wonder if Oscar is bi. He seems the type to exploit every opportunity as it were.

I doubt Lily would be his type though even if he's into girls. There isn't really anyone would would fit with him, male or female. He's supposedly 17 but looks so much older that you couldn't realistically match him with another character that age.

Oscar does have potential, as long as he stops laying it on so bloody thick. Just calm down a bit.

The only new character they have got exactly right lately is Joel.

Confirmed in spoilers released today that Avani finds out next week she’s pregnant.

I was surprised about the Lily speculation too.
Have to see, but new characters are often after ( or put ) with the more established ones and maybe he is bi or they just don’t know yet how he’ll pan out?
I agree that Joel is well cast and hasn’t gone down the whole ‘ hamming it up route. Although all that is off the boil at the moment , maybe to emerge later on

Oh dear. I was hoping that Avani was so much more switched on around contraception and so on , I remember someone talking to her about it ( her mum?) but I may have dreamt that.
She seems more street wise than the others , lazy writing and we don’t need more babies around ( we never see!)

Isn't Lily still with Ricky? Not sure why Oscar would target his cousins girlfriend. Not seen Ricky in ages though, maybe he has had time off for exams. The girls are Amy (his cousin), Lily (who is dating his cousin), and Avani. Maybe that is why they are introducing him as bi. The problem is that Oscar looks so much older than the teens, especially in today's cafe scene. He would suit the 20's group ie Gina, Anna, Freddie.
He is over doing it abit but I think that is because of the lines he has been given.

I don't think Lily was ever really 'with' Ricky? They just co-parent.
We glimpsed Ricky a couple of weeks ago, he was with the other teens on his way to school and allegedly 'missing Charli'.

Priya is exactly the type of mum who would have marched Avani down the health centre and made her go on contraception once she had any inkling of sexual activity!

I guess they want new characters with links to the past , but then think ‘ ahh, his only 17, what can we do with them ? ‘ ’ Lauren came back a new head from
traveling with a drink or drug problem I recall. The Brannings are bad news. Best one was Abby who sadly died. Best actress.

I agree, I liked Abi. Good actress and a mistake to kill her off.

It is really lame that Avani is pregnant, we just went through all that with Lily.

I am not sure Priya would take Avani to a sexual health clinic. She is too busy being her best friend to do any real parenting. It is odd though that no one - Avani, Ravi, Suki, Priya - even thought about whether she could be pregnant.

Priya had Nugget and Avani very young. You would imagine she’d be on it with her and have ‘the chat’ , but she wants to be seen as the cool mum I suppose which isn’t good. I had Avani down as more street wise , she had that other horrible boyfriend before sleeping with Joel as well but not sure if she slept with him or not, don’t think she did.

Why was Stacey in the chip
shop a when she runs a bap stall for food ? What was Kat wearing on her legs? I normally like her look, but they looked horrible.
Poor Julie:( lot to take in for her and I hope she does take him home.
Brian ( Ian ) always makes me laugh though. How people have a go at him constantly 😆

hate myself for saying this but I quite fancy Harry 😊😊 he has a nice smile but ( as always ..,) way too young for me and a tad ( lot ) dodgy too.
Nice friendship with Kojo, but I hope it doesn’t end in tears.

Yeah maybe - I just was thinking as she had her kids so young that might be the one bit of parenting she’d be good at. And also that is kind of cool mumish isn’t it?

Speaking of Abi, Oscar and Lauren didn’t seem to remember Bradley fell off that roof too!

No, nobody remembers poor old Bradley.

So, mini max Oscar is Annie’s half brother as well.
I did love how the writers managed to shoe horn Stacey into the bit in the chip shop and Ian actually working there too. It’s been mostly ignored forever before now not since the Freddie and Bobby days of frying the fish.

Yes I know what you mean, it could be 'cool mum', but I think Priya was too absorbed with badgering the police about how they treated Avani. I can't remember if any of the adults actually asked if they used protection. Surely they must have asked.

I haven't watched yet but my tv guide says there are two episodes tonight.

Oscars hands were very prominent today. Not many act with their hands , but he did.
The stall will be the making of him I suppose. Or he’ll end up working for Ravi ..

Yes, I watched on iPlayer earlier and was surprised when a second episode started straight afterwards.

I’m glad that Nigel left in a taxi with Julie, it saves the heartache of seeing his health deteriorate even more. I assume that’s the end of his story anyway, it was quite a lowkey departure for a returning classic character.

I'm surprised they got his departure over with so quickly but I am glad they did. They would not show the reality of late stage dementia so he had to go fairly soon, whether it was returning to Julie or conveniently dying.

Nigel and Julie return next week - he goes missing again but comes back.

That does at least make sense in terms of his condition - that he would try to return. I doubt he'll be around much longer though.

Oh no ! Nigel back and forth isn’t good at all.
I only watched part one today though , didn’t know there was part two straight after! ( Might watch it later on )
