Two Ranveer mentions, is this to remind us what Ravi did to him? I really don't care about the storyline but it's always nice to see Ravi.

Louie is not a bad little actor and I loved what he said about how their arguments affected Jimmy. If Peter was a better actor this would all work a lot better but Lauren has to do all the heavy lifting.

But the best thing about this episode (well any episode!) was Drunk Kathy.🍸

Harry is the type of mechanic who will prop up the bonnet of your car , have a look inside and do the Sharp Intake Of Breath that tells you well I can sort it for ya, but this'lll be pricey

Would love to know how Louie collapsed the buggy and got the car seat attachment off it. I need an engineering degree to do anything with mine.

Phil’s also the type of mechanic who pops your boot open, sees a dead body in there,
and says “I’ve got two shovels and a map of Epping forest.”

Oh my goodness, tonight's episode !
There were hearts and flowers in Pe-ta and Lauren's household, then all the darkness in the plot about Ravi's drugs. A cautionary tale for anyone thinking of dealing, or of taking drugs. RL is much darker, but those scenes at the end made me shudder.

Yes, it would have been easier to steal the car !

Yeah, Harry is that kind of ‘ sharp intake of breath’ type mechanic isn’t he ! He knows if someone isn’t sure what the problem is and make sure it costs a lot more to fix than it should do.

Pe ta really was woeful yesterday , no expression , dialing it in and looked like a man who’d rather be somewhere else.

The guy who runs our local garage is exactly like Phil, right down to the gruff/grumpy demeanour and he is not very chatty at all. But I won’t take my car anywhere else. On a couple of occasions he has actually opened the bonnet and diagnosed the issue just by looking at it.

I admit that the more grumpy / quiet someone like a builder or a mechanic is the more likely that they will know what’s wrong and how to fix it! It’s the overly chatty friendly ones will all the spiel that tend to be a bit less likely to know what’s wrong and covering their tracks ! You live and learn though..
Id love to be able to fix cars or do DIY to a high standard.

That's a really good thought, that the quiet grumpy ones just get on with the work, and the chatty ones are ... well, all chat!

Anyway no danger of chat with Phil😆 You'd definitely trust him to fix your motor though.

The scenes with Ravi were strangely written yesterday, but it was pretty obvious he never believed the 'break in' and I doubt Phil did either. It made no sense. Why would you break in and smash things up yet not steal the posh motor.

I suppose Kojo is supposed to be a naive innocent who thinks "drugs BAD" and doesn't see the consequences of flushing them away.

I think I’ve seen my ‘Phil’ mechanic smile once in the 10 years I’ve been taking my car to him😅

How would naive Kojo know those innocuous looking white tablets and packages were bad drugs? Harry did a fairly good job of remaining calm and telling him there was no problem with the items in the boot. So I don’t understand the thought process that led to him deciding he had to get rid of them.

The BBC have said that Max is back briefly in the Autumn before returning permanently later in the year.
I assumed that he was just back for a short stint.

I think Jake is doing theatre work so I suppose he has those commitments to finish before returning. I am not looking forward to it.

Easties I was not paying full attention to the drug malarky, but I thought Kojo looked as if he understood what it was. They write Kojo as smart and knowing in some ways, and an innocent in others, whatever suits the plot! (And how does he afford that flat? He would be earning minimum wage.)

Considering what Lauren has put up with these last few weeks ( Peter, Jimmy being born blind, Cindy putting her boot in and so on) you’d think that you would see her on the phone talking to her parents at some stage! Or her mentioning them ( oh, mum / dad face timed me )
Nada. Worst grand parents in the world and even Ian and Cindy don’t seem that worried about her and how she’s managing. Awful behaviour from max and Tanya. She was always about ‘her girls ‘ most of the time when they were younger.

Dh and I watch a programme called ‘ junk and disorderly ‘ which is mostly about motorbikes and ‘ the motorbike show’ and Alan the mechanic on there is the quiet silent type , but what he doesn’t know about motorbikes isn’t worth knowing! He fixes them , pulls them apart , polishes them up , he is great.
I just watch in awe and I don’t own one myself! So much knowledge.
Agree that Kojo and the drugs is just so silly it’s almost insulting our own intelligence really. I doubt he would get involved , he knows certain people are bad and worth avoiding.

When does Zoe reappear?

Jake Wood is a fine actor but his character is tired. I’m not thrilled with the new executive producer’s decisions to bring back some old characters. Viewers want absorbing and vaguely credible stories, and the show should be spending money on better writers.

The Zoe / Alfie story has gone off the boil now hasnt it!

Completely agree re bringing back old characters - it'll just ruin him further

They need new writers and a commitment to character development

Headline grabbing storylines can be done whilst honouring the characters - vinny is such a shoo in for the incel/coercive control/self hate storyline

This Mitchell/panesar beef could really be done well, with lots of extras and crime taking place on the square

A good storyline could be an infiltration of drugs gangs on the square! Selling and dealing making everyone uncomfortable

Mo getting involved with them to sell her dodgy products and getting stung badly, showing her in a really vulnerable light for the first time

So many things that could be done with a sane head running things 🥺

Well, as far as Romeo & Juliet romances are concerned (across the Mitchell/Panesar divide) Avani and Barney (“Avarney”?) is clearly a non-starter. But perhaps when GCSE results are in, Avani might go to the same college as Will, fall in love and end up as the next Mrs Mitchell.

I recall hearing Lauren talking to Tanya on the phone a couple of times when she was pregnant but nothing since Jimmy was born. In reality, with a newborn grandchild born with a significant disability Tanya would immediately arrive on her daughter's doorstep. But family members in EE do not even turn up for funerals or weddings so there you go. Sonia was jailed, had a baby in terrible circumstances, Bianca was kept prisoner by a madman and no-one commented on Carol not showing up to support them.

I liked Max but they ran out of storylines for him. I imagine he's very good in theatre. I hope he comes back to sort out the Beales for the dreadful way they've treated Lauren and bond with his red headed mini-me Annie. I wonder if he will bring back Abbie jnr (another grandchild Cindy has never met!) or will they say she's been left with Tanya.

You’d think that Tanya would visit or show support , but agree it’s how it is and they all put up with it! lol
Max will probably get involved with Ravi or Harry or some such I am guessing. Maybe will shall see the invisible Annie again.
Abby junior is around six now or whatever, but I bet she stays with her Nan. They have enough random children around already.
Dee mentioned Jack , so he’ll be back soon. 🙄
