Poor Craig met his maker after Mick hurt him bad
He was a bit boring, but I can't help but feel sad
Mick's wife Lou left him, can't blame her quite frankly
He's abusive and repugnant inside and out, and quite manky

Mick wants to see Kit as he knows he slept with Lou
He's got Bernie now, but what is he going to to do?
Mick's nasty little son is out of the STC
Will he be as bad as Mick, I guess we'll have to wait and see

Debbie's quite ill, she's dumped Ronnie and he's very sad
Kevin's still battling cancer, and he's getting quite bad
Glenda's the new landady of the pub now, and Jenny and Daisy are gone
And Julie has died very suddenly, I hoped she'd go on and on.

(I'm sure there's some more things going on right now, but I've only just woken up after a rough night's sleep.) 😆

A question. A few weeks ago, did Gary have a think about maybe buying the builders' yard? And a week later he had a full set of staff who knew each other, lots of jobs, fully functioning business?

Clawdy · 27/05/2025 08:14

Think Kirk mentioned something about a memorial, so there will probably be a big ceremony on the street, with everyone in tears, but Beth obviously won't need to be there.

Yes they were talking about it in the pub. Hope it’s not another weird street rave thing.

Lorrymum · 27/05/2025 09:36

I can't remember who Beth went to stay with in Norfolk, I thought it was a random friend or relative. Total cop out that Craig's funeral will be somewhere other than where he lived and worked.

Gary employed the usual Corrie conveyancer who is able to exchange and complete on a building at the same time without going through any checks. Amazing isn’t it?

Deadringer · 27/05/2025 13:16

I wondered why Ed sold the builders yard, he was broke a while back but he and Ronnie seem to be doing well now?

I worry about whether there will be space for all the memorials - we have Maxine's bench, Maddie's mural, Seb's garden, Oliver's tree, Rose's bush or will he just get a few bunches of cellophanes flowers in a 'shrine' next that will be gone by next week?

Ed's gambling addiction has disappeared, so he's fine now.🙄

eggandonion · 27/05/2025 13:34

At least they have nice memorials unlike the soggy teddies and deflated balloons on one we have locally. People need to stop dying on corrie, and Kit needs to pull his socks up and be a good detective.

NCTDN · 27/05/2025 13:44

Maybe this will be what turns kit into a good person. Surely it’s time for that now ? He’s been in long enough to be reformed!

SabreIsMyFave · 27/05/2025 14:13

I agree with all the posters saying the inconsistencies with the kidney transplants are stupid. Carla knocking back wine within a week of coming out of hospital was farcical.

Transplanted kidneys don't last for life, (they last 15 to 20 years,) so Tracy should have had a new kidney around 10 years ago. (She had Deidre's husband Samir's kidney when he died - in 1995. 30 years ago!)

Also, Ed's gambling is never mentioned now, or young Jack's missing foot, or Steve's depression. And Craig's OCD lasted about 2 months, remember that? That was never spoken of again and miraculously disappeared!

Also, having Craig's funeral in Norfolk? WTH? Confused I know Lisa George who played Beth left the soap of her own accord, but I am SURE she would have come back for one episode if they had asked her.

It does make you wonder if all of the ex-Corrie actors leave on bad terms, as so few of them return for major 'life' (or death!) events.

Eastie77Returns · 27/05/2025 22:16

Assuming scripts are written ages in advance they could have filmed Beth at Craigy’s funeral before she left. She could have just been filmed outside the church weeping and screaming oh no I can’t go in, it’s too much. And then she rushes off in a cab. That scene could then have been slotted into the actual funeral episode. But I don’t watch much and don’t know how long ago she left so maybe not possible.

Clawdy · 28/05/2025 07:53

When Beth left, I think Craig being killed off was all in the future. The actors who leave very seldom return for one episode, do they?

A full sized statue in the police station?😝
Who was Maddie?

CherryogDog · 28/05/2025 10:02

Was Maddie Sophie's girlfriend? The homeless one.

zanahoria · 28/05/2025 11:25

Yes, that is the one.

Here it is

I doubt we ever saw it again

Corrie not really getting the purpose of a memorial

MmeChoufleur · 28/05/2025 20:06

As if Beth wouldn’t let Kirk attend the funeral in Norfolk because he’s not ‘family’. 🙄

That’s what I was just coming on to say. That is mean, Kirk has been like family to Craig for many years

Lorrymum · 28/05/2025 20:19

Can't believe how insulting the writers are to viewers. Total nonsense about Craig's funeral in sodding Norfolk without Kirk and his friends from the Street.

eggandonion · 28/05/2025 21:32

Oh I thought he was going to both.

ILoveBrum · 28/05/2025 22:10

I thought Kirk was going to both too, just not the rest of the street?

SabreIsMyFave · 28/05/2025 22:11

Daft isn't it, having Craig's funeral 250 miles away, rather than have Beth come back for one episode. They may as well have just had a direct cremation for him. No funeral for all his friends and colleagues? As I say, daft.

Maria(?) said tonight that they were having a memorial in Weatherfield and it would be good for Kirk to give him the chance to mourn Craig, given that the funeral was for family only.

I can’t imagine who will be attending this funeral given that I thought that Beth and Sinead were his only relatives, and Sinead is dead.

SabreIsMyFave · 28/05/2025 22:21

Oh yeah @MmeChoufleur I forgot Beth was related to Sinead. Wasn't Sinead her niece? So Sinead was Craig's cousin?

So we’ve got Julie’s funeral and craigy’s who’s next ? Things come in three’s!

is it me who hasn’t the foggiest what Ronnie and Fiona are supposed to be doing? Where has this ridiculous storyline come from? Bored of it already
