Anyone watched the first episode?

It was a very good but brutal episode.

I thought Dinah's story about her mum and sister and the raider and Ellie saying to Norah 'I know' is confirming the direction the story will go.

I also think Bella Ramsey is doing great.

Fallout is an original story to the games, yet slots into the universe perfectly.

I think originally the same sorts were criticising it because it had a woman in the lead role, but after watching it they couldn't complain.

There are definitely nasty elements about Ramsey's appearance, but there are also valid criticisms about her acting. So does well in the highly emotional scenes, but other times it's very flat. I'm just not finding the quest for revenge or the romance very believable, but the directors should also take blame.

The problem with this series is that it is frame for frame a copy of the game, and so many have seen the same scenes performed much better before.

I loved it when Nora said to Ellie "you're killing us" and Ellie replied "am I" then there was the lightbulb moment that Ellie was the one. Interested to see how Ellie gets out of the basement area.

Those Seraphites are bloody lunatics. The first time we saw them was with the little girl and them looking all peaceful but since then they are shown to be psychotic murdering religious nutters. The scene hanging and cutting open the wolf guy (presume he was WLF) was brutal.

Great episode, the final confrontation with Nora was brilliant. I think Bella Ramsey is doing a fantastic job. Though I haven’t played the games so nothing to compare her to. Dina is excellent too. Loved Jesse coming to save the day and I hope we get to see Tommy again soon. Hooray for Pedro Pascal back next week for the flashbacks 😭😭

Just watched the new episode. I really liked it but I can’t get over the porch scene being done the way it was. It takes a lot of the emotional weight out of their reunion but obviously I know changes needed to be made for the tv audience. It’s the only thing I didn’t like.

Man they put their heart and soul into that space set didn't they? I loved playing that bit.

Makes me want to play it again 😊

It’s even sadder to lose Joel when you see his backstory and how he’s a great dad when his dad wasn’t.

I really liked that episode. I haven't played the game, so not comparing it.

Also, i want a full size dinosaur in my garden please. I have a small garden, so it probably won't fit, but life goals.

Never played the game but loving the tv series. Really liked the latest episode with the porch scene.

Such a sad episode. Not played the game so no comparison and all new to me.
Loved the space scenes, such joy. Then their relationship falling apart, and finally the answer to did she know she would have to die for a cure. Fabulous 👌
Did Ellie see spores in the woods?

Yes I’m also wondering what made Ellie stop and look when they were walking through the woods? I couldn’t quite make it out on screen as it was very dark!

@Fedupoftheshits I took it to mean she saw fire flies darting around in the forest and it made her think of their original mission?

I thought they were fireflies.

I think that the episodes with Pedro Pascale in are just better somehow. This was probably the best episode this season, bar number two of course.

Am I big fan I the first 3 series's of walking dead - and cared about the characters. Not getting the same vibe now Joel has gone. Even before that, I didn’t really care but went along with it. I see from the game community that isn’t hitting the spot either . Will keep watching in the hope that the character development will make me care. But not holding my breath tbh

The thing is the whole point of the storyline couldn't have happened without Joel dying. He wasn't a good man and his past caught up with him.

As for the gaming community, they're all still watching. If it was that bad, they wouldn't be. These are people who sent death threats to voice actors, the reason extra security was needed on set for the show. They need to get out and touch grass on occasion.

They can't wrap this up in one more episode surely?

I am going to assume there is going to be a part 2 of season 2, which will be quite disappointing I think.

I haven't played the game, but my ds that I am watching with, has. He is really only watching now to see if they stick to the storyline or not, and he wasn't too chuffed about how they changed the storyline in the last episode (of how Ellie found out). His community of gamers are the same really, they are not wowed by it, but they didn't rank the second game either though.

I am not enjoying this season as much as I expected to. But I will see it through as of course I want to see how it ends.

But I agree, the fact that Bella Ramsey is getting so much backlash is quite revolting.

The second game is one of the best games I’ve played. It’s put together exceptionally well and challenges your thinking as a player. Some people didn’t like that and like more linear stories with “goodies and baddies”. Some of the gaming community are just absolutely fucking awful and they spend their entire miserable lives whining and moaning about things.

There will be a part 2 - the story is such that it couldn’t possibly be told in one season. That part, I admit, does make it a less engaging watch as a tv show.

We've got Abby's story to go yet. Not going to be done in the last episode coming up.

The game was excellent, I actually changed my allegiance half way through. It was very well done and it really challenged your thought processes, but all the boys out there just stopped at Joel dying and have whined ever since. Totally missing the point.

The 2 year gaps between seasons isn't helping like.

I'm still blown away by that set. They really paid attention to that part of the game.
