Celebrity Big Brother (ITV1) and Late & Live (ITV2) - Thread 3 - Please expect spoilers.

So, Michael Fabricant was the first to be evicted, with Jack(🙄) and Mickey being saved by the public.

Mickey Rourke then left on Saturday night. Allegedly he said another homophobic slur, this time to Chris, and left/was asked to leave.

(Daley and Chris were immune from last weeks nominations, and Mickey had been put up by Jojo as a killer nom.)

Jojo and Chris are seemingly besties

Trisha is annoying just about everyone (keep an eye out for her chats with Danny)

Mickey hated Patsy's cooking and wasn't afraid to tell her at any given opportunity, reducing her to tears

Mickey seemingly liked Danny's cooking, however, and was happy for Danny to do his make up.

Ella loves being beautiful and having a colonic. I don't think that anyone on earth wants to see a showmance between her and Chris, but do correct me if I'm wrong

Chesney Hawkes reckons he had a 'drugs hell' but no one believes him

Angelica has retained a youthful glow, no further commentary necessary (thank you trisha)

So this thread is for CBB and L&L commentary, as well as lovely discussions about seasons past and gossip about the celebs 🙌

please expect spoilers as it was just too hard to avoid them

Thank you for the new thread - I wondered what you'd put in the title 😁

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2025 14:43

I think Jack will be up (too snarky), Daley (too quiet and nabbed the big bed) and possibly Patsy (grumpy chops).

BigBroMoFo · 13/04/2025 14:54

Thanks for the new thread @mumofoneAlonebutokay

Placemarking here while I finish off the previous thread. I saw the MR headline earlier and came over to find out what had gone on…

2025willbemytime · 13/04/2025 15:05

I wish they'd let Michael go back in. He'd be so happy and it would keep the numbers right.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 13/04/2025 15:15

Itv are a mess honey, I'm just thinking about what a monumentally awful decision it was to put Mickey in 😭

They won't. The next eviction will probably be a single rather than a double.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 13/04/2025 15:19

I was glad Michael left honestly, as earnest as he seemed at times

As chief member of the jack/david platt downfall league, I'm rooting for him to go next 🙏

There's normally some resilience about unequal numbers in reality shows

Normally people fight for immunity, or double eliminations become single etc

Strictly is a master at it! One year it felt like have the cast left but they limped through the final

Noperope · 13/04/2025 15:28

It will be interesting to see the new dynamics now that Mickey has gone. He was the villain of the house so I wonder who will fill the void?

Was anyone else underwhelmed byJojo's dancing? She wasn't bad, but I was expecting a lot better!

Aquarius1234 · 13/04/2025 15:34

Tonight's episode will feel rushed.

I can’t quote @AliasGrace47 but on why so many people were into 9 1/2 weeks - it came out in 1986 pre virtually anything we are used to today. There were only 4 channels on TV, you could listen to the top ten by dialling a phone number, there was no internet so the raciest thing that you might ever come across in the local library (no bloody Amazon) as a young person was Shirley Conran’s Lace, Jilly Cooper’s Riders or possibly your parents’ poorly hidden copy of the very hirsute Joy of Sex 😑
Then this movie came along and probably gave about 6 years of VHS blockbuster rental life for a generation who did not grow up in an era of Fifty Shades/porn/semi clad beautiful singers simulating sex on stage etc. It was mainstream eroticism that wasn’t confined to the red light distinct or top shelf. And crucially it was aimed at women. I always think of it as a precursor to 50 Shades which it felt like women were crying out for at the time, 25 years after 9 1/2 weeks was released. Clearly there was a market and I’m amazed it took that long for someone to fill the gap..that author cleaned up!
It’s so easy to forget how very innocent those times were compared to now. I think the film was breathtaking for many. It just belongs in totally different times that in many ways were not necessarily worse times.
Some of the conflict on the last thread about MR’s behaviour stem from age based attitudes..I reckon there are posters on here that range from their early twenties to their sixties & possibly older. We are never all going to agree

MICKEY ROURKE LEAVES CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER AFTER INAPPROPIATE BEHAVIOUR AND LANGUAGE

A spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother said, “Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour

During Wednesday’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother, viewers saw Mickey receive a warning from Big Brother for unacceptable language and behaviour towards a fellow housemate.

There have been further instances where Mickey has used inappropriate language. Today, Mickey’s behaviour and language to Chris during a disagreement in a task was considered to be threatening and aggressive, but no physical altercation took place

Yes, now that Mickey has gone the rest of them won't be able to direct all the villainy towards Mickey. Might actually wake some of the rest of them up a bit.

Tonight's episode will feel rushed.

I agree - there will be a lot to fit in - hope they don't spend an age on recap of Friday's episode.
So new task, will they have nominated yet? I have it in mind that there is another eviction on Tuesday (might be wrong about that)

I'm assuming they'll be nominating today and we'll see it tomorrow night then eviction on Tuesday?

PrincessScarlett · 13/04/2025 16:40

Nominations could be interesting. Presumably most of them would have voted for Mickey (with Jack as second choice based on the last nominations). Now he's gone we might see a better spread of votes and more up for eviction.

My TV guide says for Tuesdays episode 'Big Brother Live Eviction' so assume someone is going Tuesday.

Great post. I was 21 when I saw it. I was a student in Brighton at the time and the local council banned it. So of course, everyone wanted to see it! And yes, there wasn't internet porn everywhere like there is now, so it was a v unusual film, sensual, intelligent, great music, beautifully shot ( Adrian Lynne, the director, had worked in commercials ), and loads of us just fell in love with Mickey Rourke. It was also based on a true story by a woman and the film was very much about her journey.

MR is obviously punch drunk and/or suffering cognitive decline and maybe some related form of dementia. This is not sitting well with his abusive childhood. He is disinhibited and makes inappropriate comments. He suffers chronic insomnia and is consumed by fear. But this is dismissed as he used to be a Hollywood star. If he were a normal guy perhaps he would have more empathy.

I think that the strength of the BB experience is understanding difference. This includes the older generation understanding the young but also the young generation understanding the older, sick or infirm generation. Trisha is insufferable but gets a free pass. Mickey is insufferable but gets ‘cancelled’. I thought there was a real moment of honest communication when Mickey said fear kept him from sleeping well. He admitted he went off the rails, hit the button hard. Fear that he couldn’t make things right before he died. This is the real human life drama that makes BB. Not people putting on a game face to advance their career.

I think in any work place it would be similar though. They are all working and paid to be there. Its a higher standard than someone on the street

We've all rolled our eyes and had a colleague like trisha. Its not in the same category as mickey. She's annoying but that's a voting out offence not a kicked out offence

Some of us will be unlucky to have something worse.

I do think there should be screening (i assume there must be) to make sure people are mentally well enough.

The reality is though this is part of a long pattern of behaviour from him. If it does involve the same slur that's reported then it's the 4th time he's had to publicly apologise for the same thing, or if he's been threatening that's equally not OK

I'm not suggesting he should be publicly executed but it's clear its not safe for him to be in the house

AhBiscuits · 13/04/2025 17:33

I was on holiday so binged the first 5 episodes today. Mickey was good entertainment but absolutely awful, like a giant baby. It was right to remove him. His leering at AJ was SO GROSS 🤮

Thanks for the new thread! BTW, when you said you found it hard to like Jojo bc of the life she's lived, did you mean her public image or something else? I def agree her image as a kid was quite cloying but it wasn't her fault, her 'momager' was responsible. Otoh her Miley-style antics later were up to her. I sympathise bc she's basically lived in a goldfish bowl her whole childhood almost, w a mum who monetised her. ☹️ That's no excuse for the bullying allegations that have come out tho...

BobnLen · 13/04/2025 18:33

The clip of the incident is on the BB app, probably elsewhere as well now
