Celebrity Big Brother (ITV1) and Late & Live (ITV2) - Thread 3 - Please expect spoilers.

So, Michael Fabricant was the first to be evicted, with Jack(🙄) and Mickey being saved by the public.

Mickey Rourke then left on Saturday night. Allegedly he said another homophobic slur, this time to Chris, and left/was asked to leave.

(Daley and Chris were immune from last weeks nominations, and Mickey had been put up by Jojo as a killer nom.)

Jojo and Chris are seemingly besties

Trisha is annoying just about everyone (keep an eye out for her chats with Danny)

Mickey hated Patsy's cooking and wasn't afraid to tell her at any given opportunity, reducing her to tears

Mickey seemingly liked Danny's cooking, however, and was happy for Danny to do his make up.

Ella loves being beautiful and having a colonic. I don't think that anyone on earth wants to see a showmance between her and Chris, but do correct me if I'm wrong

Chesney Hawkes reckons he had a 'drugs hell' but no one believes him

Angelica has retained a youthful glow, no further commentary necessary (thank you trisha)

So this thread is for CBB and L&L commentary, as well as lovely discussions about seasons past and gossip about the celebs 🙌

please expect spoilers as it was just too hard to avoid them

I am old enough to remember Chris coining the phrase 'muggy mike'

I'm not sure Chris is joking, I think he knew damn well that if he wound Mickey up, he'd lose his temper.

Yeh true.

Mickey's fee has been slashed

What's this from?

AliasGrace47 · 13/04/2025 21:48

Paperclipp · 13/04/2025 15:56

I can’t quote @AliasGrace47 but on why so many people were into 9 1/2 weeks - it came out in 1986 pre virtually anything we are used to today. There were only 4 channels on TV, you could listen to the top ten by dialling a phone number, there was no internet so the raciest thing that you might ever come across in the local library (no bloody Amazon) as a young person was Shirley Conran’s Lace, Jilly Cooper’s Riders or possibly your parents’ poorly hidden copy of the very hirsute Joy of Sex 😑
Then this movie came along and probably gave about 6 years of VHS blockbuster rental life for a generation who did not grow up in an era of Fifty Shades/porn/semi clad beautiful singers simulating sex on stage etc. It was mainstream eroticism that wasn’t confined to the red light distinct or top shelf. And crucially it was aimed at women. I always think of it as a precursor to 50 Shades which it felt like women were crying out for at the time, 25 years after 9 1/2 weeks was released. Clearly there was a market and I’m amazed it took that long for someone to fill the gap..that author cleaned up!
It’s so easy to forget how very innocent those times were compared to now. I think the film was breathtaking for many. It just belongs in totally different times that in many ways were not necessarily worse times.
Some of the conflict on the last thread about MR’s behaviour stem from age based attitudes..I reckon there are posters on here that range from their early twenties to their sixties & possibly older. We are never all going to agree

thanks, I don't want to derail but that was v interesting. Like a lot of Gen Z, I agree that the less sexualised 80s were better than the hypersexualised online etc stuff today. Shirley Conran & Jilly Cooper sounds like a much better deal!

I still think it sounds like a v disturbing film w the rape/SM scenes but I appreciate that it was shot & acted well & clearly a milestone esp for centring a woman.

I guess as Gen Z I have a bit of a different reaction to the violent themes bc the later 50 Shades & porn boom hasn't been ideal for women... But I get that back in the 80s the violent themes would've had much less of a negative impact, it would've been a positive thing for most.

I actually read quite a good article, by chance, about the memoir author recently. Ingeborg Day was the daughter of Austrian Nazi party members, & there's some speculation the guilt she describes in her other book Ghost Waltz was worked through by engaging in the masochistic relationship.

I agree, he had an almost sinister look in his eye that I haven't seen before. Quite unnerving!

Chris or Mr?

Chris. He had a really cold look in his eyes. He then asked Jack to back him up. Bizarre behaviour.

What the fuck is Chris doing?

ConstantlyFuriosa · 13/04/2025 22:05

8dateslater · 13/04/2025 17:18

I think in any work place it would be similar though. They are all working and paid to be there. Its a higher standard than someone on the street

We've all rolled our eyes and had a colleague like trisha. Its not in the same category as mickey. She's annoying but that's a voting out offence not a kicked out offence

Some of us will be unlucky to have something worse.

I do think there should be screening (i assume there must be) to make sure people are mentally well enough.

The reality is though this is part of a long pattern of behaviour from him. If it does involve the same slur that's reported then it's the 4th time he's had to publicly apologise for the same thing, or if he's been threatening that's equally not OK

I'm not suggesting he should be publicly executed but it's clear its not safe for him to be in the house

Edited

I think he called Chris a cunt, not a f**

Scorchio84 · 13/04/2025 22:05

Ella about Chris "I don't fancy him so I ain't bothered" 😆😆

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2025 22:05

So Ella hasn't got the showmance she was hoping for?

PrincessScarlett · 13/04/2025 22:07

Chris is obsessed with Jo Jo isn't he.

ConstantlyFuriosa · 13/04/2025 22:07

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 13/04/2025 18:38

I don't like her as she does seem smug and a bit patronising

I don't think I'd get along with her - but I think that she's only 21 and has lived quite a crazy life, so I can't really hold it against her, that's what I meant

I don't know much about her life before cbb tbh, only that she was on the kardashians - definitely didn't know she was only 21!

Regardless, she still gives Smug Youth Pastor vibes.

Youllnevergetabetterbitofbutteronyourknife · 13/04/2025 22:07

This is all a bit weird with Chris and JoJo! 😬

HurdyGurdy19 · 13/04/2025 22:07

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2025 22:05

So Ella hasn't got the showmance she was hoping for?

bearing in mind she was crying on the first night because she'd just split up from someone, it wouldn't be a good look if she tried the showmance angle

Just thinking the crew must be Ninjas. They have done an amazing transformation from the house into a pirate ship without, apparently, disturbing any of the housemates.

Lampzade · 13/04/2025 22:08

Not a fan of Chris . Something very disingenuous about him

PrincessScarlett · 13/04/2025 22:08

Donna thinking Bounty the chocolate bar 😂😂

ConstantlyFuriosa · 13/04/2025 22:08

Appalonia · 13/04/2025 20:00

I'm in two minds about whether to watch tonight, this whole sorry episode is so bloody sordid and depressing!

I’m watching to make my own mind up and not let the internet persuade me in advance.

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2025 22:09

They've put 3 women in charge to piss Mickey off 😁
