I actually felt sorry for Clint in yesterday's episode but not any more. Him and Stepford were as bad as each other tonight, looking down on the rest of them.

Yep, he's lost all sympathy from me. Whereas Elliot is coming over quite well now. I guess he saw the real Lauren inside 2 days and rightly scarpered. The producers did us up like a kipper there.

WhisperGold · 09/04/2025 22:12

Clint man, blind loyalty to a wrong un is never a good look. You're acting like JD Vance.

dapsnotplimsolls · 09/04/2025 22:14

I said 'Poor Clint' right at the start of the programme. Rookie error.

Appalonia · 09/04/2025 22:28

It's funny, on Twitter at the time of Elliot leaving at the start, the Australians were saying, oh just wait and see what Lauren's REALLY like... I get what they were saying now!

Empress13 · 09/04/2025 22:28

Deluded Clint is desperate to stay in hence sticking with the bogan badger! There’s no way he believes her over everyone else. Carina gets on my nerves

Bogan basher !

Outofthepan · 09/04/2025 22:52

Yes. You can tell Clint doesn’t believe her

TinselAngel · 09/04/2025 22:54

I’m tempted to watch the lie detector thingy because judging by the trailer Lucinda is in it.

Clint came across as an absolute knob there..

Yeah he is a proper knob. Adrian and Jacqui were actually nice there.

"Too much yelling there. Jamie is a good egg and Lauren is vile but Jamie did not handle that situation well. Felt really sorry for her but I would have rather plucked every individual body hair myself (see what I did there) than get involved. I loathe direct conflict like that."

I agree, way too much yelling.

Lauren is a really nasty piece of work, and says some awful things, but, it was fairly clear she did not want to discuss her relationship with the group. Despite her not wanting to talk about it, Jamie badgered Lauren, told her how lucky she was to be given a second chance, and on e she didn't get the response she wanted she was loud and in her face.

So, IMHO, Jamie should have laid off it.

Rhi was trying to be a peacemaker.

They should all be focussing on their own relationships and not on the other couples! I know, I know, that is what the programme is all about.

It looked like some sort of pseudo hijab, which after her Princess Jasmine effort is quite the switch.

Pianoaholic · 10/04/2025 00:03

Well, I had a great evening at the pub (amongst all the drunk bogans!) and came back to catch-up with everything.
Thanks for the new thread and I enjoyed all the comments.

Interesting how it's all turning around. Some of the people I really disliked came across better this episode, eg Jacqui, Adrian (!) and Eliot. And then Clint -siding with Lauren, and saying how he disliked Jamie, he's not nearly as nice as he seemed.

I wonder what Lauren's relationship with her crazy sister is like. It might have made her quite competitive with other women, and she really seems to dislike confident women like Jamie (and Lauren's sister seemed very confident as well as crazy!).

JellyBeanSpring25 · 10/04/2025 00:13

Why did they not question Awhina about her decision to stay? And how badly Adrian has treated her. Everyone was astounded at the commitment ceremony that they were staying, yet nobody questioned them at the retreat at all. It was all focussed on Lauren. And whilst I agree that she behaved like a jumped up snobby cow, she must wonder why she was singled out.

Italiangreyhound · 10/04/2025 00:14

The trouble is, as the viewer, we are constantly being manipulated by the producers to respond to the drama being created.

T.J. didn't,'t need to pass on the comment 'Troll'. Lauren was claiming to use it in it's modern. Sense. But I think she meant it as a comment on Jamie's height.

It was a very rude thing to say.

But TJ was stiring.

Everyone is held accountable for what they say but not in a natural way as in I said something nasty, but in a highly conncoted way as in you didn't defend me when I was shouting kind of way. Utter bullshit.

Italiangreyhound · 10/04/2025 00:15

...highly concocted way...

Italiangreyhound · 10/04/2025 00:17

"...yet nobody questioned them at the retreat at all."

Not in the script. Drama moves on.

Just watching the 1am showing.

I agree that it was clear Lauren didn’t wanf to disclose anything to the group and Jamie should’ve dropped it. As it happens as soon as Lauren did say there wasn’t a spark Then that nugget of info went straight back to Clint.

I do like Jamie a lot and she could’ve handled it better.

I did notice Jackie stand up
when things were getting heated first time. It looked like she was standing between them. But maybe she was just stretching her legs.

I did like that she stood up for Jamie in a factual calm way.

i wouldve intervened even though I don’t like conflict I hate unfairness more and I care less as I’ve got older.

She thinks she's so stylish. She isn't

greengreyblue · 10/04/2025 07:02

I agree in that I hate unfairness more than conflict. I will always speak up if I see that. Jaimie unfortunately won’t be heard because she raises her voice so much BUT so far everything she has said is right .It isn’t any of their business but the producers are goading them to question everything. It’s all directed.

EdithBond · 10/04/2025 07:43

Lauren: Unconfident and uncomfortable. But snobbish and nasty. TBF must feel shit watching Elliott in his swimmers being cool, while she’s with Clint, who she doesn’t fancy. Alternative is second ejection by ‘doing an Elliott’ on Clint. Icky Golf Wives tee.

Jamie: Smart, funny, straight-talking and passionate. But weighs in too heavily with opinions. Resorts to finger pointing (à la Morena). Lost the high ground by losing her shit and expecting people to take sides.

Clint: Nice and courteous. But weak and dithering. TBF under pressure being paired with someone already spectacularly rejected once. Nasty streak swearing at Jamie and not calling out name-calling.

Rhi and Carina: Tried to be peacemakers. But pandered to victim-playing and didn’t call out condescending name-calling. Perhaps because they secretly agree.

Jacqui: Brave and supportive. But so fickle she’ll prob back Lauren tomorrow. If she can’t capture some of Ryan’s pre-gym testosterone.

Big Dave: Solid as always.

Awhina: Again wearing the rose shades of lust. Oh dear!

Theme: Boganic (to tune of Blondie’ Atomic)

Timeforaglassofwine · 10/04/2025 08:48

I think I honestly related more to Carina in that situation. She was trying to smooth it all over and be peacekeeper, but it backfired. I couldn't relate to Jaimie's shouting and stamping, demanding that everyone else either joins in or isn't her friend anymore.

greengreyblue · 10/04/2025 08:53

But to be fair to a Jaimie it was a build up over a couple of days not just that setting. Carina and Rhi had caused an issue by running after Lauren and then stayed quiet and didn’t defend their loyal friend who had backed them up over the experiment. I think Jaimie felt let down and it all came to a head.

Delatron · 10/04/2025 08:57

I think it runs deeper than that. Lauren called them all Bogens, that they were boring her and who knows what else. Completely looking down her noses at all of them. Since when were Carina and Rhi friends with her? Is this editing that we haven’t seen? Why would you want to be friends with a snob like that?

So after trashing them all and walking out, Carina and Rhi go after her to ‘comfort’ her. This ends in giggling that everyone else can hear and they’re all a bit WTF?

Then Lauren calls Jamie a troll. She has basically launched multiple personal attacks.

Yet Jamie has to take it? I’d be calling someone out for calling me a bogen and a troll and be upset if people I thought were my friends (and I’d previously defended) just sat there quietly. She did deserve an apology that’s awful language to direct at someone. She got loud and upset and she was hurt. Thank god she has Dave.

Of course if she’d not raised her voice she would have had the higher ground. But she’s a passionate person.

Yep completely agree.
