Honestly, I loved Clint up until now.

He's now coming across as utterly pathetic to the point of being tragic.

I think his attempts at being 'alpha' when defending Lauren in front of the group are purely to impress her- I don't even think he believes what he's saying (either that or he just doesn't have a mind of his own)

Whereas it's giving Lauren the ick- it's written all over her marshmallow face. What she wants is a man to show his inner alpha by standing up for himself against her. Not weakly pandering to her in front of others. He's just embarrassing now.
