I think Hayley was helping with the twins in Spain. Didn’t Kat come back to the square without the kids for a bit and that must be when Cherry was conceived. Although I could have dreamt this 😂

Gosh, the twins have a sibling in Cherry related to both their own parents. Not that they see her, but it is unusual.

Harriet Thorpe needs to stop playing Elaine like some sort of Danny La Rue (if you’re old enough you’ll know). All the deep voice and arm flourishes makes her a caricature. Love Alfie, always have. There doesn't seem to be anything for Amy, Nugget and Denzil to do. The writers have given Avani the best storylines and scripts and she’s been brilliant. Is it because she’s older I wonder. Peter needs to be dumped off out of the show. No way would Lauren have got involved with him. The bloke can’t act. He can barely talk

Mmm, I see what you mean, they've sort of tried to recreate Pat and Peggy but without the normal bits. My favourite Elaine moment was with her dad's old lover, but mostly it's sequins every day and seems too much like a caricature of an old school landlady when times have moved on. She's a good actress, and does vulnerability well, but the rest is just tinsel flim flam.

Yes exactly. She’s playing the character of Elaine in a very dated way and therefore she is unauthentic x

Also I really don't get her and George as a couple, which doesn't help.

She might have worked well with Frank RIP and his spinning bow tie, but not George. It breaks the 'suspension of disbelief' we have to apply to soaps every time.

George is a gentle, laid back character. Elaine is too full on. They are a mismatch for sure x

I've only ever seen Harriet Thorpe in The Brittas Empire, where she was brilliant at a deliberately absurd character. Unfortunately the style doesn't work as well in Eastenders.

I don’t mind Elaine and her unusual dress sense.
I didn’t ever think that putting two characters together like her and George was a good idea though because they are so different and it doesn’t really work.

I had to leave another thread where episodes were being shown months apart. It’s hard enough avoiding SM without avoiding no spoiler threads

I don't mind a spoiler and flit between the spoiler thread and this one. I do sometimes watch on iplayer too.
Surely tv pace/no spoilers is easy for EE. After 8pm Monday-Thursday discuss that days episode. No trailers, FB chat, digital spy, etc.
Total speculation is fine.

To be fair, it was a great game of football. But it could have been on bbc2 and left EE alone.

By my count this is the third time Elaine has "ended things" with George. And three times Teddy threw Nicola out. The next episode they're acting like nothing happened.

New Vicky knew Joel was filming himself having sex and then instantly forgot and started blaming Avani.

Is there something in The Vic that gives everybody amnesia?
