After declaring last year that I'd never watch again, here I am, wondering who else will be sat watching?

It'll be at TV pace of course, but feel free to post spoilers or rumours about who will be entering

I think its only on for 3 weeks, no idea what the point is really tbh

I think Mickey probably was joking* but I can see him getting majorly cancelled for what he said.

To be honest even as a gay woman, I think the sexual side to it is more worrying than the homophobic side to it.
The turning people straight thing always turns my stomach as sexually violent, and is a signal for me of an unsafe man. Normally if someone says that to me I'd make sure I wasn't alone with them, drunk or take lifts. Its tricky to have that as an early 20s person with a bloke you've got to live with and sleep near for weeks while the world scrutinises your reaction.

Particularly to someone 50 years his junior

daley is a sportsman so will have opinions on whether a man identifying as a women with male DNA should be allowed to compete against women in sport. I mean that’s his field so I’d be surprised if he didn’t have an opinion. I would never hold against him what his opinion on that matter is. He’d definitely have gone on to win more Olympic gold medals if he’d gone on to compete against women instead of men. Anyway I have no idea re his opinion on the matter. I’m just saying I’d be surprised if he didn’t have an opinion.

Your 21 year old daughter and her significantly older, more established colleague were away on a work retreat.

The colleague is reported to have been inappropriate with another female earlier in the week in front of a wide audience, to the extent another male colleague stepped in.

He then whilst discussing your daughters relationship, told her that within a few days if he stayed on the trip he would be turning her straight. When she said that she was in a committed relationship he was later heard saying to a male peer he would get rid of that lesbian quickly, then made a joke about fags specifically aimed at her

They are expected to share rooms for another few weeks

Would you not be encouraging your daughter to complain?
Would you not be expecting the work place to offer some reassurance or protection for the other female staff?

It genuinely makes me shudder. The fact he is well known and was once in some good films doesn't mean he should be kept in at the expense of other people's comfort

I'm not sure if it's my own experience of those type of comments and understanding the sexual uncomfortableness but I'm really surprised by the implication that he was just joking and it's PC gone mad

Let's see the context of his comments to jojo - completely unacceptable as they were, I wonder if there was some hostility between the two beforehand

I think it’s unfair if people getting picked apart for holding their own views…Daley re JK Rowling that’s his choice and likewise his views on men competing in women’s sports …he is allowed to have a viewpoint …that was his career he’s a sportsman.

I hate when some groups pounce on people for holding differing viewpoints…

There's enough people who aren't political in that way, and those who hold opposing views though, so I'm sure he'll be given the chance to put his personality out there and have the public decide

i actually like everyone on there so far

despite MR and his antiquated opinions he has thought of others especially in the prize room by putting others before himself

I guess he’s a complex person which will find intriguing to observe

he didn’t pick immunity for himself he said he’s take his chances and he picked gifts for others…he comes across as sensitive…let’s see how it pans out…

I just find it really sad that people will inevitably cast jojo as annoying, and then defend him based on his previous fame, looks, even that he is interesting?! If he was dull, less famous etc then would he deserve the warning?

How famous or interesting does someone need to be in order for the people around them to tolerate sexually suggestive behaviour?

It’s 100% not fair for someone with male DNA to compete in sport against someone with female DNA…look at that boxer controversy ….not only is it not fair it is down right lethal and could kill in sports like boxing …it’s wrong on every level

Will catch up on the rest of the thread, but want to put it out there that I love AJ. I think she's a great presenter. Not on a par with Davina, but I think she brings her own personality and is growing into it.
