big boreother

fook me
dreadful

CatIsSleepy · 13/05/2008 14:05

Peep Show is fantastic

CatIsSleepy · 13/05/2008 14:07

SATC is just too damned girly

DeeRiguer · 13/05/2008 14:30

i'd do anything..
what about maria
britain has talent (but this isnt it)

those kind of shows are awful cheap cringemaking telly
though profitable if you are ugly lloyd webber

and you are meant to know who aunty brenda is talking about when she natters on about 'sean' (new toy boy/ paper boy??)..and find out later its a contestant from the telly..wtf

i mean watch them if you must but dont assume we all do

saadia · 13/05/2008 14:32

SATC and The X Files.

branflake81 · 13/05/2008 15:25

I used to not "get" friends - then years later I watched a few episodes and now quite like it.

I don't watch any soaps (Eastenders etc) so don't really see their appeal.

I don't watch many American series either though I do like Sex and the City.

lilemer · 13/05/2008 15:30

i've never seen an episode of neighbours which may not be a bad thing methinks....

brimfull · 13/05/2008 15:33

House
I can't bear it
dh and dd love it

PuppyMonkey · 13/05/2008 15:49

Anyway Margaret, who's going tomorrow night then...?

Now THAT'S a proper programme for you!

But I also like Big Brother and The Times blog on it...

cyteen · 13/05/2008 15:53

Seinfeld. Unfunny shite with added painfully 80s slap-bass soundtrack.

Little Britain. Offensive and aggressively unfunny catchphrase 'comedy' that does not, contrary to popular opinion, become more hilarious each time its inane slogans are shrieked across the office by morons.

Not a programme as such, but Ricky Gervais. Loathsome, slimy, unfunny fucknut.

SheikYerbouti · 13/05/2008 16:02

Don't like Catherine Tate either

I've laughed more at pieces of bread

SheikYerbouti · 13/05/2008 16:03

And anyone who says "Am I bovvered though" deserves to get beaten to within an inch of their sorry lives

UnquietDad · 13/05/2008 16:06

God, yes, "Seinfeld". What the hell was that all about? People enter room. People have "witty" self-congratulatory banter. Someone offers knowing one-liner. Twangy-ity-twang-danng-twaaang. So on ad nauseam. NOTHING HAPPENS.

Totally different from "Friends", which I liked - despite the American "surface dazzle" it was structurally and thematically a British sitcom (about embarrassment etc.).

notnowbernard · 13/05/2008 16:09

The Bill

Desperate Housewives

Doctor Who (recent series)

24 (though want to watch, really, but feel there is FAR too much viewing time that I would need to catch up on)

Lost

notnowbernard · 13/05/2008 16:10

Thinking aout it, not sure I've heard anyone 'rave' about The Bill

MingMingtheWonderPet · 13/05/2008 16:10

Sex and the City

Gavin and Stacey

Desperate Housewives

Heroes

MingMingtheWonderPet · 13/05/2008 16:11

Agree with you notnowbernard re 24. Far too much to catch up on now, even though my brother has all the DVD box sets.
it would take ages.

GryffinGirl · 13/05/2008 16:12

Don't wqtch much telly, but I have at least tried:

24 - how many times can you say "Jack" in a "slightly less than the one hour we promised in the title" episode?
SATC - glossy product placement and - gasp -women who say "fuck".
Friends - utterly contrived cartoon character who can only talk in one line gags.
Lost - that's what I was.
Bo Selecta - the nearest I have ever got to putting my boot through the telly out of rabid hatred for Avid Merrion.

No intention of trying

Pushing Daisies
Prison Break
Desperate Housewives
Ugly Betty
House

but i did LOVE

The Sopranos after DH made me watch series one with him on DVD. Genius

cyteen · 13/05/2008 16:19

Ooh yes, Bo Selecta. Anything that twopenny fuckwit is involved with needs to go straight to video hell.

notnowbernard - my dad once phoned my brother from his hotel in St Lucia to make sure we'd taped The Bill

Cappuccino · 13/05/2008 16:19

lol at pieces of bread

so now that goes for me as well

Sex and the City - the woman was annoying

I dislike programmes about singletons mainly because they have to cock up perfectly decent relationships just to keep the series going. Soaps the same - people only stay together for about 2 mins despite 40 years build up to first shag

The Sopranos - couldn't work out who the feck was working for whom

Cappuccino · 13/05/2008 16:20

oh yes and Ricky Gervais

he is such an overrated one-trick pony

he is the Emperors New Bollocks so he is
