We thought that the lowest scorer from the chefs who are through is subbed by the wild card. Anyway, we will see.

That would be brutal if the lowest scorer was chucked out! Surely Tom and Andi would have mentioned that when they were gleefully discussing their wildcards?

Just sat down to watch tonight’s on iPlayer as I’m going out and they’re not showing this week’s programmes ahead of transmission 😢

I did not know it was on last night 🤦‍♀️ Fortunately it’s on again in 20 mins so I can catch up before the next one - will read the thread to see what everyone else thought after that!

What a bizarre way to do the wildcard. Why can't they just have nine chefs competing?

I would be so pissed off if I was Daniel from Wales, especially as he came second yesterday. I like the idea of the wildcard but it does seem to rob a chef of the chance to improve. Why not just let them all cook and edit the show a bit more efficiently.

I thought Sally would make way for Wildcard as she already had a dish secured.

I'm also not keen on the celebrity guest judges. If they can't be classed as a great Briton then they seem a bit extraneous.

It MIGHT just about have made sense to get the starter winner to step down, as they're definitely in. Then step down the fish winner for the main.

Or my preference, cut out the bits between each course where the judges ask guests leading questions so they can promote whatever they're currently selling, and fit in nine chefs cooking.
