Cassie's walking around with her tail between her legs, as Ken rumbled her nasty little game. Tracey saw through her but few others did, and Cassie's attempts to fool Tracey were lame. Hope still wants to be friends with her nan, but no-one wants Cassie around. She wants some love and friendship and support, but there's really very little to be found.

David wants someone to kill him so his family will be looked after. He wants someone to hit him with a car, these storylines are getting dafter! Kevin's got cancer it appears to be spreading, which is really quite worrying and sad. Rosie and Sophie haven't made an appearance yet, are they not worried about their dad?

Carla had her brother Rob's kidney, he's in jail for murder, under guard, but the guard is his girlfriend, and not be trusted, so escaping from the hospital wasn't hard. Abi's still struggling after seeing Mason killed, but trying to pull herself together. Her portrait of Kevin was a sight to behold, Debbie thought she'd be laughing forever.

Carla and Swain are still loved up, and Eileen's sister Julie's shown her face. She says she's got cancer, how awful if she has it too. Seems it's turning up all over the place. Leanne and Toyah's story has quietened down a bit, and the institution's in the past, Daisy's telling Daniel he's the baby daddy but he's not, I wonder how long the lie will last.

Jenny's about to be kicked off the deeds, at the Rovers against her wishes. Daniel's bailing her and Daisy out, and wants to make Daisy his missus. Max got a chunk of time in jail for setting fire to his house. And Dylan's incarcerated for possessing a knife, but is keeping as quiet as a mouse.

The Baileys have dwindled, and DeeDee where is she? Ronnie's still about, and easy on the eyes is he! I've probably missed something important I expect, and I'm sorry if I've missed something out. It's hard to remember everything and everyone, and make sure you don't miss nowt!

Aggressive tone my arse.

JewelleryCat · 31/03/2025 20:42

Poor Dee Dee. She wasn’t aggressive at all

JaneJeffer · 31/03/2025 20:43

This is the maternity ward from hell

It is isn't it. Poor Dee Dee. And agree she wasn't aggressive at all. What a shit show

Greentableleg · 31/03/2025 20:45

These midwives are giving the profession a bad name!

PrincessScarlett · 31/03/2025 20:47

This episode would scare the shit out of any pregnant woman. The way Dee Dee has been treated is absolutely appalling.

zanahoria · 31/03/2025 20:48

DeeDee should have brought her SuperNurse mum

Middlemarch123 · 31/03/2025 20:55

This episode is very upsetting for me, I had premature twins after eclampsia, and spent three days in ITU, and it was touch and go. The consultant said it was a miracle that all three of us survived. It was down to the amazing staff and the NICU, I thank god for their care every single day. And one of those beautiful twins is now an ICU doctor at the same hospital, making miracles happen.

strugglingwithlife · 31/03/2025 21:00

That episode has made me feel angry at the way Dee Dee was treated

I'm glad you all survived and that's so great that one of your twins became a dr

So explain to me. Daisy's real mum has appeared and said to Daisy that Jenny is taking that £60k from Daisy's dad. I thought it was Jonny Connor's £60k? Was Jonny Daisy's dad then?

Honeyroar · 31/03/2025 21:12

Poor DeeDee.
Weatherfield General lost its halo tonight!

Honeyroar · 31/03/2025 21:13

As for the £60k, the money has been passed around like a hot potato!

eggandonion · 31/03/2025 21:25

I am just ignoring the money stuff because I am bored and confused.
The maternity ward scenes were terrible, hopefully Deedee pulls through and exposes them. Bethany can write an article. Surely she wants her mum, even on the phone.
Frankie is very healthy looking!

EachandEveryone · 31/03/2025 21:46

Unfortunately a lot of black women are treated like that in maternity services there’s loads of articles about it. Things like midwives ignoring pain as they feel like they are tougher than the rest. It’s diabolical and I think that Corrie was bang on it tonight.

Deadringer · 31/03/2025 21:47

I thought jenny said that the shares were Johnny's but muttered something about him being in partnership with Daisy's dad, that can't be right though can it, they never even met iirc?

Is that what the nurse meant when she said giving birth is what women like you are made for (or words to that effect)? They treated her dreadfully, calling her aggressive and emotional when she was ill.

Shellingbynight · 31/03/2025 22:01

The money was from Jenny's dead husband, no not Johnny, the other one who was Daisy and Tom's dad.

The DD baby saga is trying my patience. New James is almost as bad an actor as Old James. DD will of course be fine. There is no chance James is taking that baby.

Daisy and her mother…. Zzzzz…. When was the last time they introduced a nice character? (about 2018 probably).

HaddyAbrams · 31/03/2025 22:12

Wow that midwife is a Bitch!

I know someone who was brushed off and sent home, 24 hours later she was told her babies had died and she had to deliver them. Fucking awful.

That’s awful. I hope she made a complaint and that the hospital learned their lesson

HaddyAbrams · 31/03/2025 22:24

I don't know her well enough to know what happened in that respect, but she sadly hasn't been able to conceive again.

Yes, and black women in the UK are four times more likely to die in pregnancy or childbirth than white women.

It does look like this is a racism or unconscious bias storyline with DeeDee. The lingering handhold with the black nurse made me think of a report a year or so ago highlighting the poor maternity treatment of black women, and many said they felt much safer and listened to by black midwives/nurses, and weren't taken seriously and had their concerns dismissed by white ones. So that was a sad scene, DeeDee didn't want her to leave.

The calling her 'aggressive' for asserting her boundaries, it's the 'angry black woman' stereotype.

Horrible to watch, but it's good that they're highlighting this.

eggandonion · 31/03/2025 22:59

I agree that it is a good topic, but difficult to watch.
