Cassie's walking around with her tail between her legs, as Ken rumbled her nasty little game. Tracey saw through her but few others did, and Cassie's attempts to fool Tracey were lame. Hope still wants to be friends with her nan, but no-one wants Cassie around. She wants some love and friendship and support, but there's really very little to be found.

David wants someone to kill him so his family will be looked after. He wants someone to hit him with a car, these storylines are getting dafter! Kevin's got cancer it appears to be spreading, which is really quite worrying and sad. Rosie and Sophie haven't made an appearance yet, are they not worried about their dad?

Carla had her brother Rob's kidney, he's in jail for murder, under guard, but the guard is his girlfriend, and not be trusted, so escaping from the hospital wasn't hard. Abi's still struggling after seeing Mason killed, but trying to pull herself together. Her portrait of Kevin was a sight to behold, Debbie thought she'd be laughing forever.

Carla and Swain are still loved up, and Eileen's sister Julie's shown her face. She says she's got cancer, how awful if she has it too. Seems it's turning up all over the place. Leanne and Toyah's story has quietened down a bit, and the institution's in the past, Daisy's telling Daniel he's the baby daddy but he's not, I wonder how long the lie will last.

Jenny's about to be kicked off the deeds, at the Rovers against her wishes. Daniel's bailing her and Daisy out, and wants to make Daisy his missus. Max got a chunk of time in jail for setting fire to his house. And Dylan's incarcerated for possessing a knife, but is keeping as quiet as a mouse.

The Baileys have dwindled, and DeeDee where is she? Ronnie's still about, and easy on the eyes is he! I've probably missed something important I expect, and I'm sorry if I've missed something out. It's hard to remember everything and everyone, and make sure you don't miss nowt!

Dorian must be a nightmare to work with because he keeps talking

PrincessScarlett · 10/04/2025 11:54

It is absolutely mad that Dee Dee hasn't been visited by a health visitor and that social services aren't involved. You can't just give your baby to a relative. There's a shit load of paperwork and assessments for adoption. Baby will need a passport asap but surely they can't take a baby to America before the birth being registered and vaccinations.

A health visitor would see straight away that something is wrong. I think Eddie keeping the baby away is really cruel as surely Dee Dee is the best person to look after the baby. The rest of them haven't got a clue.

PrincessScarlett · 10/04/2025 11:56

And and agree that a random man flying with Dorin and dropping him on Tyrone's doorstep would have the police and customs all over them. Surely they would have been intercepted at the airport. It's incredibly hard to travel with kids that are not yours.

Shellingbynight · 10/04/2025 12:32

The baby storyline is being handled so badly, as you say SS and the HV would be all over this. And no one has mentioned all the work required before Laila could travel to the US with James. We don't even know what is wrong with Danny, it's all so shoddily done.

Lorrymum · 10/04/2025 12:54

The arrival of Dorian was bizarre. I think the actress playing Fiz must have felt the same. She gave a very hurried and unconvincing explanation as to how Dorin had arrive.
A flood!! So Alina sends her precious little boy off to his Dad without so much a text to tell him he was arriving. Also sent with a random chap who is flying over to the UK.
Give me strength!

I don’t think dementia would be diagnosed that quickly, surely they would rule out other things first.

Agreed. Everything Debbie described could all have easily been explained with stuff she's going through in her life currently. Obviously she needs the further tests, but no decent Dr would plant that seed just on a few incidents. Tbf, a lot of GPs at this stage would diagnose stress and send you on your way.

Shellingbynight · 10/04/2025 12:58

Tyrone would have sent her money for the flight or even gone and got Dorin himself, but no, they have him couriered over like an Amazon package.

2 mins after he was mentioned in that convo with Kev, when he hasn't been spoken about for ages!

Shellingbynight · 10/04/2025 14:09

Yes, funny that! Anyway I am not complaining, he's the best character they've introduced in years 😆

I would be surprised if Danny lives.

Shellingbynight · 10/04/2025 14:25

I agree that's the way it's going. I cannot see the baby leaving Weatherfield.

zanahoria · 10/04/2025 16:54

Adoption is something that is rarely covered well on soaps. There is always the subtext that you can always get the baby back.

At least it is not as bad as the absurdity of Eva's baby.

zanahoria · 10/04/2025 16:55

Or Amy being adopted by Roy and Haley.

Is she even aware that the local cafe owner was briefly her dad?

Shellingbynight · 10/04/2025 17:02

The only adopted child we have on Corrie at the moment is Kit I think? And what a great storyline that has turned out to be.

Eastenders are keen on killing off adoptive parents and the child returning to the birth mother (Bex and Raymond).

He hasn’t diagnosed her though, has he. He’s just told Debbie what he suspects. To be fair She did want to know so he was in a no win situation really. What was meant to do fob her off and say (possibly giving here false hope) “Oh it’s probably nothing but I just want to rule a few things out”.

Edited

I agree about EE those 2 story lines of Bex and Raymond would never happen IRL, for the simple reason A child can not be unadopted. However with Kit he isn’t unadopted he’s just building up a (if you can call it that a relationship with Bernie) He’s a fully grown Adult which is entirely different to being unadopted

AmusedMaker · 10/04/2025 17:54

The ‘Bedroom’ scenes always make me laugh - they always come down the stairs putting their shirts on, just incase we don’t know what they’ve been doing.

Shellingbynight · 10/04/2025 18:29

@Awwlookatmybabyspider oh yes nothing wrong in adoption terms re Kit, he's just not a good addition (IMO).

I thought the doctor had an easy option - he thought she'd had a TIA and wanted her to see a neurologist for further tests. That was all he had to say.

Agreed. Why give her worst case scenario when dementia wasn't even on her radar? Pretty sure dementia isn't common at Debbie's age, so although he may have thought it a possibility, he had no need to mention it without the results of further tests.

You're right, dementia is very uncommon in people under 60. Only around 3% of dementia suffererers are diagnosed under 60. Weirdly, I know 3 people who were diagnosed in their early to mid 50s. They all died within 5-7 years sadly.

I really loathe that new bloke (Mick?) Why is he such a vile creature?

Yes a weird stroyline with DeeDee's baby.

Dorin is cute. Smile

Although didn't his adopted parents just conveniently die?

Shellingbynight · 11/04/2025 07:49

@zanahoria i think it was just his mum conveniently as he’s now got a new one.

eggandonion · 11/04/2025 08:56

My neighbour has dementia, which must have started to become apparent during lockdown. She is about 70 now, but her confusion is really sad. She was glamorous, in a Debbie style of dress. But I would prefer not to have another long term issue on Coronation Street.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 11/04/2025 08:59

i thought the dementia storyline would be played out more gradually. Looks like another Corrie rush job !

Shellingbynight · 11/04/2025 09:06

@SabreIsMyFave

Mick is vile to the point of being unwatchable. He's just a thug.
