Cassie's walking around with her tail between her legs, as Ken rumbled her nasty little game. Tracey saw through her but few others did, and Cassie's attempts to fool Tracey were lame. Hope still wants to be friends with her nan, but no-one wants Cassie around. She wants some love and friendship and support, but there's really very little to be found.

David wants someone to kill him so his family will be looked after. He wants someone to hit him with a car, these storylines are getting dafter! Kevin's got cancer it appears to be spreading, which is really quite worrying and sad. Rosie and Sophie haven't made an appearance yet, are they not worried about their dad?

Carla had her brother Rob's kidney, he's in jail for murder, under guard, but the guard is his girlfriend, and not be trusted, so escaping from the hospital wasn't hard. Abi's still struggling after seeing Mason killed, but trying to pull herself together. Her portrait of Kevin was a sight to behold, Debbie thought she'd be laughing forever.

Carla and Swain are still loved up, and Eileen's sister Julie's shown her face. She says she's got cancer, how awful if she has it too. Seems it's turning up all over the place. Leanne and Toyah's story has quietened down a bit, and the institution's in the past, Daisy's telling Daniel he's the baby daddy but he's not, I wonder how long the lie will last.

Jenny's about to be kicked off the deeds, at the Rovers against her wishes. Daniel's bailing her and Daisy out, and wants to make Daisy his missus. Max got a chunk of time in jail for setting fire to his house. And Dylan's incarcerated for possessing a knife, but is keeping as quiet as a mouse.

The Baileys have dwindled, and DeeDee where is she? Ronnie's still about, and easy on the eyes is he! I've probably missed something important I expect, and I'm sorry if I've missed something out. It's hard to remember everything and everyone, and make sure you don't miss nowt!

This proves nothing, of course, but my MIL was in a hospital alongside a couple of patients with young onset dementia. We got to know the family of one woman, and it seemed that only months before she'd been at the top of a professional demanding career. So a swift decline wouldn't necessarily jar with me, though I really think Debbie's doctor wouldn't have been so open about his suspicions in real life.

Yeah I think it's the quick 'diagnosis' that makes it seem so rushed. Surely a tumour would be higher on his radar at this point... if he did suspect it to be something serious already.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 11/04/2025 08:59

i thought the dementia storyline would be played out more gradually. Looks like another Corrie rush job !

I thought that too. I guess there are different types of dementia, but all the people I know who had it, didn't progress to where Debbie is so soon. They got forgetful, and kept repeating things over and over for a good few months first (maybe 6-8 months,) before it started getting worse/progressing.

But I understand everyone is different, and it may affect people differently.

Yeah, the Specialist did jump the gun a bit didn't he?

I also agree that the way DeeDee's baby storyline is being handled is bizarre, and Dorin just appearing out of nowhere is weird too!

CellophaneFlower · 11/04/2025 11:20

The James thing is bizarre. Would have made more sense if they brought him back earlier rather than Ed having a lighbulb moment minutes before she's about to drop.

MonickerMonica · 11/04/2025 11:21

So sad to see the usually very confident Debbie crumble with fear. She hasn't even been diagnosed yet so no confirmation it's dementia but she's terrified. Like many here I've seen it first hand in my own family and know it can strike anyone.

I agree that doctor acted wrongly. He let her leave his room in the belief she was doomed and he could have handled his talk to her far better and quite simply by advising tests to eliminate and dismiss certain fears. She wanted straight talking ok but he still handled it badly.

So we've got DD being unfairly treated by a medic with hints of racism and now Debbie's doc situation. (Did she hint she'd paid privately or did I get that wrong).

SabreIsMyFave · 11/04/2025 11:24

Agree it was awful how Debbie crumbled! I think I would too. Flowers

It was definitely private from his office and building! It was just the way she came out with more plausible reasons for what had happened and he was like well yes, it could be that but from the few vague things you've mentioned I'm thinking it could be dementia" 🙄

@SabreIsMyFave

Mick is vile to the point of being unwatchable. He's just a thug.

We'll need a new thread soon!

Here we go. ^ Shiny new thread for when this one fills up ...

Yes, Debbie said to the doctor she'd paid a fortune for the appointment so get on with it, or words to that effect

Shellingbynight · 11/04/2025 14:12

Yes I think Debbie said "I'm paying through the nose for this". And I've never seen an NHS GP with an office like that! That at least was realistic - that Debbie would pay for a private doc.

Thanks for the new thread @SabreIsMyFave

And he's not Dr Gaddas

Perhaps Dr Badass has had too much going on at weathy high... as I'm still not convinced she and Crawshaw are actually not one and the same 😂

PrincessScarlett · 11/04/2025 18:32

Mick and Lou are just vile. I can't believe of all the characters to introduce they go with them. They've alienated most of their neighbours and even Gemma and Chesney are trying to distance themselves. Awful characters that bring absolutely nothing to the show.

Anonym00se · 11/04/2025 20:30

Debbie’s dementia will be quickly forgotten about, much like Johnny who was diagnosed with MS which never troubled him again post-diagnosis until the day he died down the sink hole. Or Craigy’s OCD. Or Hope’s cancer. Or Jack’s missing leg.

Clawdy · 12/04/2025 07:55

And Max's ADHD!

Lorrymum · 12/04/2025 10:59

I'd forgotten about Max and his ADHD. Surprised his lawyer didn't bring it up during his trial.

Tbf there are 2 types of MS. 1 is the progressive form, which my bil had and just gets worse until it kills you, but the other type comes and goes, sometimes quite infrequently. Susan Kennedy in neighbours had that type iirc.

Not true. Sue Cleaver decided to give up wine, and start to eat healthier as she'd had enough of being 'big' and she wanted to be healthier. She was ill after she had lost some weight (with sepsis,) but she had been dieting for a good few months before that. I am speaking as I find, and find (some) people who are dieting/trying to stay slim, not as chirpy and happy as they used to be when they were bigger. I wasn't going to respond to this snippy comment, but wanted to put you straight.

Why do comments where the poster doesn’t agree with what the original poster said always get referred to as being ‘snippy’?? Stupid comment imo.

What’s happening with David and Shona now ? I see Jack p shepherd is on cbb.

Jack comes across as arrogant and snooty on CBB. Can’t stand him in it, and I think it might colour my opinion of him in Corrie. He’s been ok-ish in that, so far.

WiddlinDiddlin · 12/04/2025 18:14

I thought Jack came across exactly as I expected - reserved, observant, dry and a bit sarky, and significantly more intelligent than some of the folks in there (or doing a VERY good job of pretending he is).

Not remotely surprised he's out, most folks can't see the entertainment value in his 'less is more' kind of personality where bumbling Mickey and loud but over sensitive Michael are obviously hilarious to watch.

I don't know what he's done that you can't stand, except not fling himself into a 'me me me' fest of yacking on about himself and pretending to be besties with a bunch of strangers... but maybe thats what he is supposed to do?

I got the distinct impression he knew he wouldn't be in very long and wasn't bothering.

He’s not out of BB! Michael Fabricant the MP got voted out!

WiddlinDiddlin · 12/04/2025 18:28

Ohhhhhhh isn't he?! Will kill DP, he said he was out (im at work so not paying a huge amount of attention!)

Apart from pushing his mum down the stairs and defrauding his grandmother you mean? 🤔😂
