Cassie's walking around with her tail between her legs, as Ken rumbled her nasty little game. Tracey saw through her but few others did, and Cassie's attempts to fool Tracey were lame. Hope still wants to be friends with her nan, but no-one wants Cassie around. She wants some love and friendship and support, but there's really very little to be found.

David wants someone to kill him so his family will be looked after. He wants someone to hit him with a car, these storylines are getting dafter! Kevin's got cancer it appears to be spreading, which is really quite worrying and sad. Rosie and Sophie haven't made an appearance yet, are they not worried about their dad?

Carla had her brother Rob's kidney, he's in jail for murder, under guard, but the guard is his girlfriend, and not be trusted, so escaping from the hospital wasn't hard. Abi's still struggling after seeing Mason killed, but trying to pull herself together. Her portrait of Kevin was a sight to behold, Debbie thought she'd be laughing forever.

Carla and Swain are still loved up, and Eileen's sister Julie's shown her face. She says she's got cancer, how awful if she has it too. Seems it's turning up all over the place. Leanne and Toyah's story has quietened down a bit, and the institution's in the past, Daisy's telling Daniel he's the baby daddy but he's not, I wonder how long the lie will last.

Jenny's about to be kicked off the deeds, at the Rovers against her wishes. Daniel's bailing her and Daisy out, and wants to make Daisy his missus. Max got a chunk of time in jail for setting fire to his house. And Dylan's incarcerated for possessing a knife, but is keeping as quiet as a mouse.

The Baileys have dwindled, and DeeDee where is she? Ronnie's still about, and easy on the eyes is he! I've probably missed something important I expect, and I'm sorry if I've missed something out. It's hard to remember everything and everyone, and make sure you don't miss nowt!

I finally forced myself to watch Friday’s episode.

So we are supposed to believe Bertie ‘nearly drowned’ despite not seeing him looking even slightly damp. God forbid we should ever see an event happen, rather than be told about it afterwards. He looks plenty big enough to be able to stand up in a hot tub. He also needs a recast.

Great acting from Jenny though in her scenes talking about Tom. Unlike Daisy who is phoning it in nowadays.

Surely Swain must have been suspended - again. She shouldn't have gone into the house in the first place and then she shot a passerby, so there would be an investigation. I've always expected her to get sacked and end up working in Underworld.

So Tracy should have had another transplant by now? Has she ever had another one?

She's still on the original kidney! She should have had another transplant (or gone back on dialysis) years ago.

Goodness me. I never even knew kidneys could deteriorate after 10/20 years so Tracy should definitely have had a new one by now. Would she still be taking her anti rejection meds?

eggandonion · 30/03/2025 18:38

She could have Robs other one if he takes a turn for the worse.

Shellingbynight · 30/03/2025 18:41

Ha Tracey and Carla could be transplant twins!

@JewelleryCat yes after a transplant you have to keep taking anti rejection meds for life.

I am surprised she did not bagsy Aiden's other one after he died.

Agree. Jenny can act, and you really felt her anger ( hatred almost ) towards Daisy.

Nearly everyone on the Street has a chronic or life changing condition. I've been watching for a very long time and in the early days it was all excellent writing and characterisation. I don't remember anyone being ill then.

Corrie writers are "raising awareness".At times they do not know when to stop

Costacoffeeplease · 30/03/2025 22:44

I know someone who is waiting for their third kidney transplant. The first was around 20/25 years ago.

Shellingbynight · 31/03/2025 08:23

I know I shouldn't expect this to make sense because it's Corrie, but why did Carla tell Jenny to put the £60k towards getting a business loan? A business loan has to be invested in a business so what would Jenny would tell the bank she wanted £250k for? And she couldn't just hand it over to Carla? Unbelievable Carla would turn down £60k in her hand.

eggandonion · 31/03/2025 09:55

Legal and financial services on Coronation Street, along with health services are different to everywhere else. We just have to accept that.

zanahoria · 31/03/2025 10:06

Freysimo · 30/03/2025 13:18

Corrie is obsessed with kidneys! Didn't Deirdre's boyfriend Samir donate one to Tracey?

Apparently there are around three thousand kidney transplants a year in the UK.

I checked out of interest, thought it would be way higher but maybe I watch too many soaps.

I assume they have become a soap staple due to the fact a donor is always needed and that adds to family dynamics.

There also around 500 murders a year

Edited

It will be 501 murders this year. I think the writers have murdered poor Coronation Street.

strugglingwithlife · 31/03/2025 14:00

Well I must be thick, I never knew kidney transplants didn't last for the rest of the recipients life or that they have to take the anti rejection medication for life.

thenightsky · 31/03/2025 18:01

I worked with a woman who'd had a kidney transplant from her father as a young child. She did well and was mid to late 30s when it started to fail. She got put straight onto the list for another and luckily got her 2nd one in about 3 weeks!

I never knew either, all this is new information for me too

This thread raises a lot more awareness than the actual programme

Greentableleg · 31/03/2025 20:13

Can't believe that midwife didn't take Dee Dee's blood pressure!

InALonelyWorld · 31/03/2025 20:14

Oh Daisy rang her mum. I assume there's some nasty scheming against Jenny coming our way. Yawn🙄

Looks like DeeDee may be heading for a medical negligence storyline

PrincessScarlett · 31/03/2025 20:16

Yes, Dee Dee's plight is not showing the NHS in a very good light at all. Scented candles?! FFS! 🤬

JewelleryCat · 31/03/2025 20:19

They shouldn’t have got rid of Max. He was really good with Lauren

HurdyGurdy19 · 31/03/2025 20:29

They couldn't find a bed in Weathy General, where EVERYONE is seen immediately and tucked up in a private room within the hour?

Then the doctor realises it's an emergency and the baby has got to come out NOW. Speaking in staccato sentences, to emphasise the concern. Then leans on the bed and just looks at DeeDee, rather than going off full pelt to get the theatre ready and get her prepped for a section.

It does.
Poor Dee Dee, how negligent are they! That nurse couldn't give a shit, wasn't listening to Dee Dee at all.

Microbantime · 31/03/2025 20:40

These midwives are horrendous.
