Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

Good episode but I found Stacey’s selfpity grief quite annoying. So it seems she isn’t going to tell anyone that it really IS her fault. Stacey and Sonia were both really good.

Poor Ruby, I’m glad Zack went to see her.

I thought it showed up what a poor actor Teddy is today. He has no range, he is just an oleaginous annoyance.

the80sweregreat · 24/02/2025 16:35

I'm honestly not going to miss Martin as he wasn't a nice ' old head ' one at all , but it is sad for his children and the actor who played him if he didn't want to leave etc.
It'll be a sad few weeks, but everyone will move on eventually as they do. Sharon rarely mentions Denny and that was a horrible way to die too. She has had a lot of heart ache too on the quiet.
Agree that Teddy's acting range is scant , he could do with some lessons from Phil.
Maybe he'll improve over time , I don't hate him.

Does anyone know where Sonia Fowler’s gorgeous mugs are from? Google isn’t helping.

They are lovely mugs. I noticed them too today
I did have a look on Amazon , but nothing close to that design on there.
Might be worth emailing the bbc or something?
Must be a forum for this type of thing , although I haven't any idea who you'd actually email.
( I did discover an Ian Beale mug I'd quite like though on eBay ' I've got nothing left' a classic EE Ian Beale moment!)

Viewer23 · 24/02/2025 18:38

I agree @Southeastdweller I do feel sorry for Ruby. I feel sorry for all the children but I struggle to feel sorry for Stacey as she is so self centred and her holding Martin hostage exposed him to the risk that led to his death.

Butterpaneer · 24/02/2025 19:11

See I thought Lacey's acting was brilliant and felt very real! I would be pretty put out if I was ruby though, I wonder how long before Stacey throws the "engagement" in her face!

NowNumber5 · 24/02/2025 19:15

Ooh is it the general consensus that James Bye did not want to leave then?

I thought today's episode was unbearably sad.

Tiredofallthis101 · 24/02/2025 19:18

I thought it was very sad too, especially the last bit with Stacey and her kids. I felt more sorry for her than Ruby but obviously both were dreaming of a happily ever after which was never to be.

InALonelyWorld · 24/02/2025 20:10

Just watched tonight's episode and catching up on the thread.

I feel quite sad for Ruby, she's the overlooked grieving spouse. So I get her feelings of jealousy and blame. (Maybe this will lead to both hers and Lacey's exit). Also it was nice to see Phil today and well done to him for giving Grant a few home truths!! Grant is definitely the type of person who watches your MH decline and secretly shames you on your climb back up. I hope Nigel doesn't leave with him.

Also I've been thinking all weekend that it can't have been James decision to leave. If the rumours were true and the big vote for the love triangle was actually supposed to be Martin/ruby/stacey then it seems odd that he instead chose a permanent exit when that couldn't work with laceys pregnancy.

I haven't watched today's, as I still feel in boycott mode 😆 but I love this thread, so still keeping up with goings on. From reading the posts on here, I keep singing Bastille "oh where do we begin, the rubble or our sins"

I'm the same, will probably tune in on Friday night, but I love the thread 🤭

I'm wondering how long it will take me to crack 😆 but I did boycott for a very long time due to the Suki fake cancer story

Seeing Phil in an old grey hoodie was odd !
Made him look so vulnerable ( which did work)

Absolutely yes! It was really incongruous but did somehow make him look vulnerable.

Meredusoleil · 24/02/2025 21:32

Did anyone see the actor James Bye was on the One show before EE tonight? He was tearing up about people's response to Martin dying.

Really getting the feeling it was not his choice to leave EE.

Shellingbynight · 24/02/2025 21:56

I saw James on The One Show and he more or less said it was not his decision. He said WTTE that 'when the decision was made' it was very difficult to tell Lacey, and 'my wife wasn't exactly thrilled about it'. No actor would volunteer to have their character killed off.

MrsPeterHarris · 24/02/2025 22:37

Loved tonight's episode. Stacy & Sonia were both phenomenal and I cried everytime they did!

Gutted if James didn't want to leave though - that's the only acceptable reason for them killing off Martin!

heartbroken22 · 24/02/2025 23:06

I wonder which idiot wanted to kill him off. He is part of Eastenders legacy even if he did become a new face. It was just ridiculous. It's like killing Bianca, sharon or Ian off randomly.

They really slit their toes with this one. They could have just had the explosion and left a cliffhanger with Martin fainting or something. But then having Reiss die as the main thing.

heartbroken22 · 24/02/2025 23:12

Anyways I think James bye is wonderful. He needs to get his own show or something.

Oh no, I feel like I’m in mourning again now 😥
I was only just coming round to the fact of a Martin shaped hole in the square, as I thought it was James Bye’s decision to leave EE.

What a stupid thing to do!
Sonia could’ve been the 40th anniversary death as she was leaving (NC’s own decision)
I know it wouldn’t have been half as dramatic because her decision to move on was well publicised, but we could have had Saint Sonia resuscitating Baby Julia, then copping it… <cue doof doofs and Julia’s theme and the high speed end credits>

Strops around the house again, clutching a sodden hanky and wailing LeAnn Rimes
“How do I live without you…
I want to know
How do I breathe without you…
If you ever go
How do I ever, ever survive
How do I, how do I, oh how do I liiiiive…”

RIP Martin Fowler. I never knew I would miss you so much.

Shellingbynight · 25/02/2025 08:18

They told James not to tell any of the cast. He insisted on telling Lacey. He said the last few months were emotional.

There were plenty of other characters they could have killed off. I didn't even like Martin but I think it was a really dumb idea. A shame that a usually good producer will be remembered for that.

storminabuttercup · 25/02/2025 08:26

Kathy made me really emotional last night
Bianca was brilliant with Grant she's not gonna let him forget how awful he was to Tiff
I did feel really sorry for Ruby, Zac was good to check on her, I do like Zac I don't think I'm going to like the Barney story

Shellingbynight · 25/02/2025 08:37

I loved the scenes with Bianca and Grant. Grant is an awful character and she cuts him down to size.

Southeastdweller · 25/02/2025 08:45

Zack isn’t used much but should be so I’m looking forward to the Barney story next week.

Snapespeare · 25/02/2025 08:46

Today's episode, Stacey's kindness in comforting Ruby and fibbing about his declaration of love. I bet that all comes out at some point - she'll snap.

The sheer amount of alt scripts and shelved footage there must have been for the Denise/Jack/Ravi triangle!

Is Linda into Grant? Is Grant into Linda? WHAT'S GOING ON?!?!

& excellent 'doof-doof's today...

the80sweregreat · 25/02/2025 09:26

Killing off Sonia might have been better but I won't miss Mart much tbh.
It does mean she can come back if she wants to now as well, which isn't a good thing
