I liked Roxy too, but I couldn't stand Ronnie (I know that is heresy!)

Ronnie had a lot of ' issues' ( understandably I guess)
Roxy was far more fun.
Peggy also used to annoy me , she was never as good as Pat with the acting range , but she did become iconic. Just not like Angie

I loved Pat, Peggy and Angie!

I think part of Ronnie's problem was pairing her with Jack. He is such a plank of wood I had no interest in them.

I liked Peggy , but I was watching an old one and the other day and she was annoying me so much , a bit of a busy body type
I didn't really notice it much before

Ronnie was with that hippy guy once , Matthew's dad I think he was ? Although I did lose track of their various children and dads with those two.
Sadly the baby Ronnie had with Jack died :(

Very underused at the moment
She was often suspended for bad behavior , but the character is good! I like her outfits but I'd never wear them myself !

Kat is really underused. I noticed her in the background in the Live episode, but she had no role in that week which is a shame.

I just listened to Lacey's podcast, the interview with Anita Dobson - what a joy. Such a lovely woman and interesting stories.

She's a Fowler too (wonder if she comes back for Martin's funeral )

Having a watched a few of the classic episodes and a few on YouTube…. Ian Beale!
Over four decades I had a vision of him being weak, bullied, no luck with women.
After viewing again, he’s as bad as the Mitchell men at times in how he treats people. He’s ruthless, money-mad, casts family loyalty aside when he wants to, and the way he has treated women at times is appalling.
Now I’m not suggesting that when Phil’s feeling better that he flushes his head down the loo again but…. 😂

But, he's bloody awful! I love when phil makes him suffer because he absolutely deserves it 😭

The way he treated Laura - and sleeping with Janine when she was a prostitute is unforgivable

The way he told Mel that his daughter had cancer when she didn’t.
How he treated Jane after his own son shot her.
He’s a weasel.
Phil - I think he first started to go a bit downhill over the Sharon thing but it seems so much ‘agg’ is down to Grant. Grant is an absolute nightmare.
I am surprised that even just two decades ago how disempowered some of the women are - Lisa gets treated like dirt, as does Tiffany.
Finally, I still can’t believe Arfur Farllller had an affair with Mrs Hewitt!
(I am starting to think these people are real - think I’ll stick Emmerdale on!)

IRL Bex, Michelle and perhaps Vicky and Mark Jr would be back for the funeral. But since this is EE, where relatives do not show up for death, births or weddings, they either won’t be mentioned at or all some excuse will be made.

NuChelle was so awful I actually hope she doesn’t reappear and from what I recall, Bex was very whiny so she can stay wherever she is as well and mourn Martin from afar.

Bex, Hope and Roman. Three 'true' Fowlers, technically.

I woulld love the old Michelle ( Susan Tully ) to make an appearance , even if it's only to lay some flowers at the end or something.
She was also in it from the start , but it's true they will make excuses for most of the family and maybe only Bex might rock up!

I've not been able to watch this past week but why did they get rid of Martin fowler? It's really strange as I read he erased everything to do with Eastenders over a week ago. Did something happen? He's one of the main ones from back in the day so doesn't make sense.

Just read that a new head Vicki is representing Michelle at Martin’s funeral, along with a new boyfriend and his son. This article seems to imply that she’s back for longer than just the funeral.
The new boyfriend played Fletch in Casualty.

New head Vicki looks, to me anyway, a little like OG Michelle.

Certainly on the group chat with my friends it was all votes for Jack

I dunno whether Ronnie was on the bill but she and Jack were friends irl
