The White Lotus - series three - starts February 17th

The Emmy-award winning HBO original series, which offers an inside look at the powerful and wealthy as they navigate complex personal dynamics and face potentially dangerous experiences while on vacation, returns for its third season this month.

"Seeking peace can be a trip," reads the tagline for this season, which was created, written and directed by former "Survivor" contestant Mike White.
This time around, viewers will be whisked away to an "exclusive" resort in Thailand, where an eclectic group of guests and resort employees will play, and likely misbehave, over the span of a week. "The White Lotus" Season 3 guests include a wealthy businessman and his family, three longtime friends who haven't seen each other in a while on a girls' trip and "rugged man with a chip on his shoulder" and his girlfriend, among others.

Anyone else looking forward to this? Starts on Monday and will be shown on Now and Sky. No watching on demand as all episodes will be dropped weekly.

Actress who plays Chloe has done an interview saying that "people are going to hate Mark White" re: the finale.

That either means- a fan favourite dies, nobody dies, it's a cliffhanger (imagine!), or this is all just nonsense press designed to keep idiots like me speculating.

That sounds like it means Belinda dies …

Although others are speculating that she fires one of the guns …

The actress who plays Belinda also said in an interview that the finale is "a love letter to Tanya" which leads me to think Greg gets his just desserts. Or, again, nonsense press.

I said upthread early on that I think Mook is definitely no angel & up to no good, so I’m sticking with that theory.

I was in a bar last night and ended up discussing White Lotus with a stranger who overheard our table talking about it. 😂

He had an interesting theory that Sritala is Rick’s dad and that Rick’s mum telling him that Jim “killed” Rick’s father was metaphorical. I think that’s a bit of a bonkers theory as Rick doesn’t look half Thai?!

We also agreed the poisonous fruit and the blender are going to have a key role to play in the finale!

I can’t wait for Sunday night - I’m in the States so get to watch it ‘live’ 🥳

I'm wondering if Tim might dive in to help against the shooter and be hailed a hero, somehow mitigating the disaster at home. Particularly by helping Laurie who has, we think, taken the jewellery and maybe set the Russians back on her trail at the resort.

Who gets killed though? Laurie? Gaitok, ss he tries to tune into his inner hero? Belinda? Now that Greg knows she knows and isn't biting at the bribe?

Or are the shooters Sritala and her husband's bodyguards homing in on Rick? Is it Chelsea who is third time unlucky and Rick's new found closure is shattered as he's realises what he's lost? It could go is so many directions, I'm really looking forward to the finale.

I know that Jim is American…. The theory is that Jim’s WIFE is Rick’s father, post sex change. Like I say, I think it’s a bonkers theory personally. 😅

I just watched the trailer for the finale and now all the predictions I’ve been hearing and absorbing make sense - the poisonous fruit, the blender, something bad happening to Chelsea/Rick, Greg getting his comeuppance etc.

Gosh, I really can’t wait to see what happens now.

Someone above mentioned other stuff Mike White has been involved in - so I felt obliged to watch Enlightened. Took me ages to realise he was actually in it. (He’s utterly convincing in his role!) Watched all of S1 without really enjoying it. Now I’m having to watch S2 - in case there’s any clue to how he might end White Lotus.

Yes, my ears pricked up when MW said in the article that Lisa had to have a ‘nice’ part because of her particular type of fame. (Maybe she even stipulated that she would only take part if her character was wholesome and blameless???)

Interesting that a different actor was originally cast as Chloe but she was replaced after a month and a half of filming. Poor thing! That must have been gutting. They seem to have gelled as a tight unit and then to be ejected would be harsh.

Wondering if we'll see Dr Amrita in the last episode.
