The White Lotus - series three - starts February 17th

The Emmy-award winning HBO original series, which offers an inside look at the powerful and wealthy as they navigate complex personal dynamics and face potentially dangerous experiences while on vacation, returns for its third season this month.

"Seeking peace can be a trip," reads the tagline for this season, which was created, written and directed by former "Survivor" contestant Mike White.
This time around, viewers will be whisked away to an "exclusive" resort in Thailand, where an eclectic group of guests and resort employees will play, and likely misbehave, over the span of a week. "The White Lotus" Season 3 guests include a wealthy businessman and his family, three longtime friends who haven't seen each other in a while on a girls' trip and "rugged man with a chip on his shoulder" and his girlfriend, among others.

Anyone else looking forward to this? Starts on Monday and will be shown on Now and Sky. No watching on demand as all episodes will be dropped weekly.

Does anyone else think Jim might be Rick's real father?

I thought that right from the beginning I think I said on here. They even look alike.

When Saxon told Chelsea she was just like the other young women hanging on to rich older men she didn’t dispute the rich part, only her motivation for being with Rick.

I think we have to assume he is rich?

It definitely wasn’t Valentin that Laurie shagged it was the other less attractive guy that joined them at boxing and cuddled up to her.
I am finding the Rick bits boring, shoot the guy I’m not interested I don’t know him and I’m not emotionally invested on Rick, don’t shoot him ok yawn.
I am not even rooting for Belinda anymore and I hate myself for this but I find Gary attractive.

I really liked the Chelsea and Saxon dynamic and would have liked to see more of that but I’m not really invested in anyone else.

Gary??? Nooooo. He’s yellow in the way that trump is orange. I loved the way the camera switched to him when Chloe was trying to persuade Saxon to take part in a weirdo threesome. There he was sitting in his lil chair looking all hopeful. Urghhh

I was thinking when Rick left Jim's house I was a bit relieved that storyline was over as it's been done so many times before...then I remembered Jim and his wife own the hotel and know that's where Rick was staying. Do we think the shooters are the 'bodyguards' and they'll shoot Rick just as he and Chelsea reunite? Maybe Saxon will step in to protect Chelsea and that will be his redemption.

I definitely thought something was going to happen between Piper and Lachlan, glad they didn't go there but it felt like a waste of screen time, them being there.

Yes I enjoy the dynamic between them. I can see how they could end up as good friends though he initially just saw her as a body to hit on, and she initially just saw him as sleezy and vacuous.

Patrick is definitely more Kennedy than Schwarzenegger. He has his mother's genes (Maria Shriver, niece of JFK).

Yeah, the 15 rating is really odd. I’d have put the swimming pool scene at a 15 (bit of toplessness), but the sexual commentary over the past few episodes is pretty full-on. Since when was incest, cucking and voyeurism mere “older teen” fare?

I feel that things are finally starting to happen, so I enjoyed this week's episode. Just found you all as we come to the end of series 3. I am loving it. I've got a bit more into the groove of what it is all about and I've been watching loads of TikToks with analysis, which I really should have done for the first two series. The only character I like with any enthusiasm is Chelsea but to be honest I don't need to like the characters to enjoy the show.

Cannot wait for the next episode. I have NO idea who will be found dead, despite all the analysis I've watched.

I've been thinking about the finale all day (not doing much work haha)- if it follows the format of the other two series, the death will be a) accidental and b) a favourite character.

That makes me think it is either Chelsea or maybe Gaitok who dies? I don't think they'd kill off Belinda now we've met her son. Victoria is the obviously fan fave but again I don't think they'd kill off someone with family that we've met.

I think all the other stuff- the guns, the blender etc, will all be a red herring and nothing to do with how the person who dies actually dies.

It's also very White Lotus for all the other characters to survive and leave having not really learned anything or tied up their storylines.

I don’t think there is a favourite character in this season, for most viewers. Chelsea is dull and, like everyone else, poorly written.

There is something quite touching about their relationship as it's evolving, I agree. Saxon is becoming much more human as he gets scared and suspicious about his dad. Great acting.
I think Piper resents her brother and feels like he's muscling in on 'her' thing. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he stays and she goes home.
I'm not at all sure now where the incest stuff was meant to be going or what else, if anything, they're going to do with it.

I also don't know how the three friends storyline is going to finish.

I think Chloe is a wrong un. Completely amoral and rather unsavoury. I have no idea what her story is or where it's going though.

$100,000 is peanuts to someone like Gary, and it's not nearly enough for Belinda to set up her business. It's also nothing like enough to ask someone to keep their mouth shut and not ruin your life. She should have laughed in his face and asked for at least 5 million.
