The drama continues…

A melon filled with sherry sounds like something Patsy Stone would serve at a dinner party.

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 27/02/2025 20:45

But without the melon, and subbing the sherry for Bollinger! 😉

Mum was from Brizzol. We used to live in S Wales, funnily enough. My friend's family had a rare breeds sheep farm. They were delicious!

Brizzol? Is that Bristol?

EsmaCannonball · 27/02/2025 20:47

Melt some Fox's Glacier Mints, Daniel.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 27/02/2025 20:49

I’d still want something that looks like a telescope & not a stumpy tube with random silver foil

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 27/02/2025 20:49

Yes, Bristol. 😀

littlbrowndog · 27/02/2025 20:49

I know it’s the silver foil puts me right of

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 27/02/2025 20:51

It kind of looks like a Blue Peter thing made by a child with a loo roll and kitchen foil.....

PotterHead1985 · 27/02/2025 20:51

5 yo birthday party sounds about right cerys

ChonkyRabbit · 27/02/2025 20:52

It really looks like he just forgot to take the foil off after cooking.

littlbrowndog · 27/02/2025 20:52

Oh no the black buns

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 27/02/2025 20:53

Now, they've puffed up well, I'll say that for them!

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 27/02/2025 20:55

I have to say, it was better than I was expecting. And presumably better than Andi warned Tom about....

namechangingeasy · 27/02/2025 20:57

I should have been counting the number of “potential” through the judging

PotterHead1985 · 27/02/2025 20:57

It had to be. He was the best of the week

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 27/02/2025 20:58

Sounds like the overall scores were not close....

littlbrowndog · 27/02/2025 20:58

They were not close

EsmaCannonball · 27/02/2025 20:58

'Chaotic flavour mouth explosions.'

Like Space Dust, then?

ChonkyRabbit · 27/02/2025 20:59

It does make me wonder what the point of the veteran is when the judges never seem to agree.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 27/02/2025 21:10

'Chaotic flavour mouth explosions.'

shall be the name of my prog rock band

mrstea301 · 27/02/2025 23:49

Curious about the wildcard (which hasn't been mentioned much!) is it one wildcard per course or just one overall?

Wales has been a bit lacklustre, hoping some of the other regions pull it out of the bag!

CarlaH · 01/03/2025 08:40

I think the wildcard should be Spencers Winston Churchill cigar!

Agreed, the perfect dessert for Blenheim Palace!

ItisIbeserk · 03/03/2025 07:41

Just came over here after what felt like a masochistic catch up to see what you’d made of Wales. Totally agree that so far this series has really failed to set us alight. I mentioned Spencer’s cigar roughly every five minutes to DH.

I’m dreading London. They’ve obviously followed the up and coming approach there for ages, well before the rest of the regions, and given where everywhere else is ending up, I fully expect a Morley’s franchisee to pop up this year.

I once chatted to a former GBM chef and he said they scout the contestants and are definitely trying to find new people so not sure people are choosing not to return or not being invited.

Pancakes for tea anyone?
