I finished it all today, need a rewatch.

It's so good. Just as good as series one, although I needed more cleaner lady Viv because she was just excellent!

Thoughts on series 3?!

I’m on Episode 3 and struggling to work out what the hell is going on. I’ve forgotten so much from the first series and it’s jumping around all over the place at the minute.

I’m also completely distracted by Daisy May Cooper’s face. What on earth has she done to herself?!

I rewatched series one last week to remind me. Her face is different but I think she's just lost weight.

Lip filler and maybe some other stuff. Also weight loss I guess does change the face.

I'm honestly not sure what I think of season 2.

I LOVED season 1. But there are so many loose ends in season 2, I feel like I need to watch season 3 to understand it all.

I hope they commission season 3, I feel like I need closure!

Or maybe it's one of those shows where the answers are there but you need to think about it - maybe I'll watch it again

If we're to take the show at face value, Susie inadvertantly played her part in Alex's death by punishing Nic by making Alex say things she knew would really hurt.

I'm about to start this from the beginning. Is it worth a binge? Or space it out?

Heard Daisy May Cooper promoting AIBU? on woman’s hour saying she was pregnant during filming some of series one and then had had various fillers and things done filming season two so she was just explaining her change of look.

Really want to see a series 3!!

And it’s so cleverly written. I think Nic’s a very unreliable narrator, so there will be some kind of massive twist.. could be the secret recordings ‘friend’ or the SIL?

Lenny Rush is brilliant. When they were talking on either side of the door.. he’s funny as well. Not many actors can be funny themselves next to DMC, but he does it easily.

I totally agree with you. Jen is all the women on MN who say LTB.

Daisy May Cooper said in her interview that she found MN a place where she got a load of support with her divorce from some amazing women.

But I don't think that's the full story as there are other MN charicatures in the story that aren't very positive.

I think Jen is exactly the LTB crowd - and so she does give Nic the female friendship and support she needs. But she's also into stalking-like behavour to reveal the truth (which to be fair, is spoken about a fair bit on MN threads on the relationship boards - spying on partners and exes to get to the truth). So maybe she's the embodyment of that and takes it too far.

In the first season there's also Lucy, who's partly the Feminist board here IMO. I don't think DMC gets the writing for that quite right tbh - it's an outsiders view looking in, she doesn't really get MN feminists (plenty to make fun of if you do get us!) It just missed the mark a bit - but I loved the season so forgave her for that!

Season 1 or 2?

I binged season 1 and loved it.

But maybe worth a little breather between episodes just as you try to work out which genre you're event watching!

It starts off feeling like a lightish school gate sitcom. It's not that!

I'm wondering if I should have paced season 2 a little as I needed to digest it a bit to work out what was happening.

I binged both series in the past couple of days! (I've been off work ill 😂).
I was GLUED to series 1 - hilarious, shocking, relatable, mental and moreish! I literally couldn't stop watching!!!

Series 2 has been such a let down by comparison, the quality is so different and too many random unfunny sideshows going on like the taxi man. Plus DMC has done something ill-advised to her lips and it was very distracting. I was so disappointed! Ollie totally saving the day in every scene.

I hope she goes back to the quality of series 1 for series 3. I'm rooting for her.

I seem to remember DMC saying about season 1 that they had someone help them with the script writing as they struggled with how to put it all together. I wonder if that person didn't help with 2?

Still enjoyed it though, especially the last episode.

I just remembered another MN reference - Jen accused her of "wiping her bum standing up", Nic said "everyone does!", Jen said they don't. This a long running MN trope. Funnily enough, I discovered that my dp is a stander-upper, I'm not. It never occurred to me people did, it never occurred to him people didn't. He's willing to try "my way", I'm not willing to try his.

Anyway, that was definitely a Mumsnet call back!

They just have to discuss how often they wash their towels next.

I enjoyed both seasons but agree that there were too many side show characters. I HATED the engineer during the scene where Alex told Susie about the affair. He wasn’t even saying like in the right place. Not funny and extremely annoying during what otherwise was a excellent scene.

I rewatched Series 1 the other week in eager anticipation of Series 2. I'd forgotten just how brilliant it was and I really needed another watch to remind me of all the twists and turns.

Series 1 was a hard act to follow and 2 didn't seem to have the same pace initially (after the funeral revelation) but it was probably needed as a bit of processing time. It was definitely back on track by the end.

Wondering when Jen will reveal she knew Dan from an online date and how Nic will take it that she didnt tell her earlier. Also wondering what the story with Becky is/how it ended up.

I didn't see the twist with Susie coming and I don't fully understand the contact between her and Jen over the video yet. They seemed really familiar with each other? I like the PP's theory that Susie was perhaps more directly involved with Alex's death than Nic (or we) realise.

Looking forward to another watch with a fine toothcomb!

Unpopular opinion but we got to the second episode and I can't see us watching anymore. The first season we binged watched and were blown away but the second season it's like a bad pastiche of itself. Sorry.

I thought it was a load of shit. I genuinely didn’t know what was going on half the time which meant I kept getting distracted and not concentrating. Too surreal with all Nic’s hallucinations and then it jumping backwards and forwards all the time. What the hell was going on with Nic being dunked in the lake whilst the entire village watched on? Did that actually happen?!

I think the ending was a surprise as I was expecting another episode to explain it all.

I liked it, but it was manic. I'm guessing it was because of her child being premature and messing up the schedule and availability of the actors and having to rewrite. Did Jen kill the old lady?

I have totally missed the MN references and the characters being a certain MN type and Jen being the overinvested LTB poster. I think Susie and Jen have known each other a while prior to Alex's death.

I wonder if 'Daniel Radcliffe' is a real-life school mum.

We don't know (yet). Presumably it's because Dan was on Tinder and she wants him and Nic to split up but doesn't want Nic to know about Tinder as it will upset her. She does want to upset Dan though.

It was a school reenactment of the witch trials. It did happen. But Dan secretly swapped with her because she can't swim.

Don't think so.

I do think Jen killed the old lady, or was the pillow scene a red herring?

S2 was a bit of a shaky start, but it came in to it's own, the last two episodes were great TV.

However, I didn't like the twist that Susie knew about the affair. I think it detracted from the S1 finale twist where we see him saying the awful things to Nic in Such contrast to how she wants to remember it.

I loved it!

I'm sure Jen did kill her!

What would she gain by killing her land lady though?
