January flew by in the blink of an eye
Leanne and Steve are getting close
Cassie is drugging Ken day after day
Dose after dose after dose

Abi witnessed Mason's very sad death
She's struggling to keep it together
Carla and Swain are still an item
I wonder if they'll last forever

Bethany and Daisy are always at war
Over Daniel I know what a surprise
Gemma and Chesney are off on a trip
And Nick and Toyah are making us roll our eyes

Kevin may have cancer that's all that he needs
But Tim and Sally seem sound
Amy seems troubled I hope she's OK
And with Leanne and Tracey, mischief is abound

David and Shona are always on their toes
Scared of Harvey's heavies coming at them
Eva has left, will a few more will leave soon?
Will things be quite different by the next full moon?

All the old regulars don't appear much these days
Or any funny storylines or good feeling
It's just like The Bill with all convicts and thugs
And crime and violence that just leaves us reeling

Daisy is pregnant but who's the daddy
She doesn't seem to want to know
I wonder if we'll ever know or she'll keep it a secret
Now that she's decided she is going to keep it!

DeeDee's still pregnant I think but she's gone quiet
Lauren's been cleared of her 'crime.'
Debbie's still sassy, and Ronnie's still sexy
And Kit is in Corrie all the time!

Someone linked to the story about reduction in hours above, I thought it said 5 x 30 mins, at 8.30 every weekday.

I much prefer 30 mins, an hour feels like a real slog.

DJrocks · 04/02/2025 19:37

I much prefer 30 minutes. An hour is too long and then there are the adverts.

MrsPeterHarris · 04/02/2025 19:44

I much prefer 30min episodes too!

Middlemarch123 · 04/02/2025 20:01

I heard that they are going to drop an evening so four 30 mins 4 X a week.

Thanks for new thread OP.

Sorry @CorporaINobbyNobbs I must have somehow missed that bit! Thanks x

TellingBone · 04/02/2025 20:08

Honestly the script-writing is shite. To an unconscious fire victim: MAX! MAX! Why did you follow me in? MAX!

It'll be, 'You'll be fine I promise' in the hozzie. 🙄

Middlemarch123 · 04/02/2025 20:14

I click on the subtitles for Dev, doing same now for Kev. Either my ears or they both mumble.

Did anyone else think Shona had her hair tied up for H&S reasons?

Haha, yes of course. I wondered why she had a Seb bun rather than her usual swishy glorious hair. I didn’t even click who she was at first!

I used to watch regularly until the greedy bosses at ITV added a sixth episode back in 2017. Maybe I’ll come back to it next year. In any case I’m not surprised at the news - these shows cost a fortune to make and viewing figures aren’t what they were. But I feel really sorry for people who’re going to be made redundant when they’d prefer to stay.

Katy Cavanagh as Julie Carp in Coronation Street. She is wearing a white furry jacket and a pink top.

Emmerdale and Coronation Street schedules face cut backs - BBC News

The flagship ITV soaps will lose an hour a week of schedule time between them from 2026.

One thing that annoys me about Roy's rolls, (aside from how grimy it looks as pp said) he mentioned making his own chocolate brownies, and always gives the impression that everything in the cafe is made on the premises, but there is never any sign of anything being baked, or any mention of it either. Also, of all the people who could pick up a birthday cake, would you really ask your 80+ granny to do it?

zanahoria · 04/02/2025 21:59

I could not care less who burned the house down but what I really want to know is will any of the Platts be allowed to stay at Grasmere Drive? Audrey is always there alone even when that house has been absurdly over crowded

So true

Where is Leanne living

Nick told her to go home?

Where?

I think she lives in the Salon flat

friendlycat · 04/02/2025 22:58

I’m afraid I’ve got to the stage that I couldn’t care less if they torched the entire street and all the residents.

The script writers have progressively got worse, the story lines are tedious and they throw the kitchen sink into everything without much attention to detail. The only exception being the MND focus.

I dip in and miss lots because I don’t have the inclination to catch up on episodes I miss.

Mollypolly2610 · 04/02/2025 23:08

I thought Leeanne was homeless lying in the street necking vodka.
how is she living in the salon flat? or have I missed something.

CorporaINobbyNobbs · 05/02/2025 00:42

She moved into the salon flat a while back when she split up with Nick/ found out about him and Toyah etc

No, she has a flat. Remember she took the kettle from Nick’s when she burnt the passports.

Middlemarch123 · 05/02/2025 07:24

After last night’s tedious episode they could reduce the episodes to fifteen minutes and I’d still be thinking, how much longer is this rubbish on for! Yes, I know there’s an off switch DP, and no one is forcing me to watch it! But every now and then, we get glimpses of good old Corrie, like the Mason turnaround, so I keep on hoping it will improve.

There seems to be a two tier approach. If something is declared an issues plot like MND, they do their homework and get it it right. Otherwise is any old rubbish.

AmusedMaker · 05/02/2025 09:23

I doubt soaps will be around in 20 years.
Younger people aren’t really interested in them ( well not enough of them anyway )
it’s all reality shows these days.
But I’ll watch til the end no matter how silly it is at times.😀

CellophaneFlower · 05/02/2025 09:27

I think it has to be Logan. Not sure how he can have a solid alibi if he was mooching around outside the house during the fire? Also how reliable can any alibi be if he was supposed to be in hiding anyway? It's not as though he'd be hanging round in areas where there are cctv etc.

Doesn't make sense why if it was him he wouldn't have scarpered though. It also doesn't make sense why if it wasn't him he'd stroll past a crowd of people when he's apparently on the run or why he'd have done it so early through the front door of a house on a street that wasn't likely to be empty.

Can't be Abi or Leanne. I suppose it could be Max at a push. Or Kit if they're being ridiculous. Or perhaps mystery van man 😂

I assume Daniel and Kit both knew about the DNA test? Have they not asked Daisy about the results yet?

Deadringer · 05/02/2025 09:36

Audrey never invites anyone to stay with her, (except maybe golden boy Stephen) she is very protective of her personal space at grasmere drive.

I reckon it houses her sex dungeon 😱 Oh dear, perhaps I might give the writers ideas. I mean that's a perfectly good storyline for a bit of early evening entertainment 🤔

Over on Gransnet they’re talking about ‘granny escorts’ apparently a women in her 60’s was on breakfast TV the other day talking about how much money she’s making.
So could be a very interesting ( & true to life ) storyline 😂

Well she did suddenly step back from her work at the salon 🤔😂

Pretty mean of her to be rolling in it (literally) and leave her great granddaughter stuck abroad unable to pay her medical bills though. Still... bethany did bring it on herself I guess and is possibly not worthy of her hard earned cash 😜
