January flew by in the blink of an eye
Leanne and Steve are getting close
Cassie is drugging Ken day after day
Dose after dose after dose

Abi witnessed Mason's very sad death
She's struggling to keep it together
Carla and Swain are still an item
I wonder if they'll last forever

Bethany and Daisy are always at war
Over Daniel I know what a surprise
Gemma and Chesney are off on a trip
And Nick and Toyah are making us roll our eyes

Kevin may have cancer that's all that he needs
But Tim and Sally seem sound
Amy seems troubled I hope she's OK
And with Leanne and Tracey, mischief is abound

David and Shona are always on their toes
Scared of Harvey's heavies coming at them
Eva has left, will a few more will leave soon?
Will things be quite different by the next full moon?

All the old regulars don't appear much these days
Or any funny storylines or good feeling
It's just like The Bill with all convicts and thugs
And crime and violence that just leaves us reeling

Daisy is pregnant but who's the daddy
She doesn't seem to want to know
I wonder if we'll ever know or she'll keep it a secret
Now that she's decided she is going to keep it!

DeeDee's still pregnant I think but she's gone quiet
Lauren's been cleared of her 'crime.'
Debbie's still sassy, and Ronnie's still sexy
And Kit is in Corrie all the time!

!

I think they should have left the stealing part out altogether and just had her drugging him to keep her job. Makes more sense than flogging an air fryer and random electrical items when she was already under suspicion of doing it anyway.

The "I just liked feeling needed" angle might have been easier to forgive than the drugging to rob him blind!

They should have left it at her getting stuff out of him but without nicking it. It was a good plot st that stage

She got a holiday that probably cost about a grand. A second hand air fryer is about fifty quid.

Not to mention the job was doddle, all she did was make him cups of tea and listen to him bore on.

Shellingbynight · 01/03/2025 19:07

Yes I see what you mean Cellophane, it would be easier to make it look relatively 'innocent'

Warfarin - of course, thank you for the reminder MissD. As you say, unforgiveable to make him think he had memory problems as part of the con. I can see it all being whitewashed so she can stick around. They must be running out of cells at the prison anyway...

He really didn't need to be paying someone to make cups of tea. If she was a 'real' carer, she'd have been wiping his arse and bathing him. My dad's carers made sure he ate, got him up, put him in the bath on a hoist, toileted him, etc. All the personal stuff.

I suppose listening to him bore on was the hard part

I love Debbie, and Kevin is playing his current part really well, but I thought Abi & Ronnie looked really good together. A little bit of a spark ( no car mechanic pun intended )

Abi would have a bloody cheek. She's the worst wife and sister-in-law ever Grin

I would have liked to have seen them explore Ken and Cassie's relationship a bit more. They could have had him talk about Susan as she would have been the same age as Cassie and may have been factor in why he enjoyed having her look after him, especially as as his step daughter is so self centred. The Tracy Cassie dynamic was interesting, as much as I like to see Corrie women scrapping on the cobbles they could have developed it in other ways.

Yes boring Ken

Remember Mike and Ken in 1983 and I think that line was used

Adam is pretty rubbish lawyer if all he does is tell his client 'just tell the truth'.

Isn't he meant to run through things first.

Adam, or should I say, the actor who plays him, is retry rubbish on all counts! Can’t stand him!

Ilikeadrink14 · 02/03/2025 15:08

That should read PRETTY rubbish! Sorry!

The mind boggles at the thought of Ken having his bits washed, etc. Perhaps we got off lightly!

Shellingbynight · 02/03/2025 15:20

Cassie originally helped Ken when he broke his pelvis, but even then all she seemed to do was help him get out of his chair and make tea. She was just a companion, she didn't do any actual caring (I'm trying not to think about Ken's bits 🤮

Depends on his care needs. I've been a real carer for plenty of people who didn't need any of that. We had one lovely gentleman in the care home I worked in who was there so he didn't get lonely. He nearly always declined a cup of tea when I did the tea round because he could make his own.

A lovely old chap I knew had Parkinson’s. He had a stall at a Craft centre and sold decorated eggs. He normally shook like leaf, but when he decorated the eggs (perfectly, i should add - they were exquisite), he didn’t shake! It was amazing. He lived in assisted accommodation, but loved the company so wanted to carry on with the stall. He too, could have lived on his own but chose the care home so he wasn’t lonely. Luckily, he could afford it.

Where are Sarah and Harry staying while David, Shona and Lily are at the flat?

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 03/03/2025 20:29

Can't stand david, everyone loves him for some reason 😒

Not remotely arsed about him getting stabbed

Yeah I don't get the mass love for Durrvid either, Confused I don't really hate him, but he does irk me sometimes.

They're there too. It's like all the other residences on the street, a tardis with ever expanding bedrooms!

Greentableleg · 03/03/2025 21:05

I'm wondering if the teenager inside with Dylan who mentioned his parents had moved to Weatherfield could be related to van man and his wife who Gemma befriended?

Middlemarch123 · 03/03/2025 21:06

I’m not keen on David either.
I think a lot of the love for him is nostalgic, because he’s been in it forever.

I thought exactly that too. He said my parents have just moved to weatherfield so would fit.

Loose lipped Jenny at work again!

So Max gets jailed for his fire insurance scam and David is now planning a life insurance scam?

I was quite disappointed tonight when I thought Jenny was going to tell Kit he's the daddy....but she didn't. I want Daisy's lie to be exposed. Jenny has given Kit a hint though. It can't be long now. 🤪
