January flew by in the blink of an eye
Leanne and Steve are getting close
Cassie is drugging Ken day after day
Dose after dose after dose

Abi witnessed Mason's very sad death
She's struggling to keep it together
Carla and Swain are still an item
I wonder if they'll last forever

Bethany and Daisy are always at war
Over Daniel I know what a surprise
Gemma and Chesney are off on a trip
And Nick and Toyah are making us roll our eyes

Kevin may have cancer that's all that he needs
But Tim and Sally seem sound
Amy seems troubled I hope she's OK
And with Leanne and Tracey, mischief is abound

David and Shona are always on their toes
Scared of Harvey's heavies coming at them
Eva has left, will a few more will leave soon?
Will things be quite different by the next full moon?

All the old regulars don't appear much these days
Or any funny storylines or good feeling
It's just like The Bill with all convicts and thugs
And crime and violence that just leaves us reeling

Daisy is pregnant but who's the daddy
She doesn't seem to want to know
I wonder if we'll ever know or she'll keep it a secret
Now that she's decided she is going to keep it!

DeeDee's still pregnant I think but she's gone quiet
Lauren's been cleared of her 'crime.'
Debbie's still sassy, and Ronnie's still sexy
And Kit is in Corrie all the time!

!

Harvey is a stupid name for a gangster. I keep thinking about the film with the giant rabbit but we have an invisible gangster instead of an invisible rabbit. They keep banging on about him but he is never seen

SabreIsMyFave · 28/02/2025 21:51

Just caught up on the last 2 episodes. Glad Cassie has been sussed at last, but I kind of feel a little bit sorry for her! She's got no-one now! I guess she does deserve it though!

Also, yeah I am wondering what the spoiler is now with Julie coming back! I don't wanna google it though, as I want to be surprised! Smile

Feel for Kev. His cancer has spread. 😢

I also wonder where DeeDee is. She was in every scene in every episode for about 2 years. Now she has vanished!

Hope suddenly looks 5 years older and much taller/more grown up. Ditto Sam.

The Carla-Jenny-Daisy-Daniel pub thing is annoying me!

Also, LOL at Sean going batshit about Dylan getting 6 months in the yoof unit. He could have got 2-4 years. He had a knife, and someone got stabbed to death as a result of him having it!

Why is David getting involved with criminals?

Ellenanora7 · 28/02/2025 23:26

Dylan brought a knife to the fight, did Sean really expect him to get a few weeks in young people's prison/school/centre facility, and all his anguish over it is very irritating, six months will fly by, fingers crossed though we won't have to watch any of Dylan's jail time because it will just be a boring repeat of Max's time there.

I've said it before but I can't stand David, I wish they'd kill him off, Shona could leave with Lily and go live a nice quiet life somewhere.

I like Julie 😊 always did, her and Kirk were fun together 😄

JellyBeanFactory · 28/02/2025 23:30

Just caught up, I actually enjoyed the last 2 episodes. There were some great lines and cracking scenes with Tim & Kevin and Sally & Tim, Roy & Abby - just normal chats with real emotions. And Tracy brawl f in the street with Cassie! Proper old school Corrie.

Agree with PPs, had enough of the Harvey/Monet situation. David is one of my favourite characters but this is tedious. Did Shona say "same old shit"? I rewound and played twice and I'm sure she did.

JellyBeanFactory · 28/02/2025 23:32

Not Monet but money. Let's not bring classical art to Corrie 😝

eggandonion · 28/02/2025 23:38

They haven't explored art theft from the massive museum which is doubtless beside the precinct. That would be excellent.
I'd like Mary's son back, who wasn't a Marine biologist.

EachandEveryone · 28/02/2025 23:41

Kirk is single now, isn’t he? Haven’t seen him for ages.

Buzzer the Bee! (has he still got that job?) And little peanut. Not seen them for ages.

Deadringer · 01/03/2025 11:29

Please no to Mary's son Jude, he was the most wooden of all the wooden actors who ever graduated from wooden acting school in woodsville.

Shellingbynight · 01/03/2025 11:44

@Deadringer He was terrible! His wife was quite good though, I wouldn't mind her returning.

eggandonion · 01/03/2025 13:21

It was an amazingly ridiculous story, especially the local aquarium. Poor Mary, devastated.
The wife was good.

Iwanttoliveonamountain · 01/03/2025 13:49

All of Mary‘s side stories have an element of the surreal. That’s part of Who she is.

Deadringer · 01/03/2025 14:13

The wife was fabulous, clever, beautiful, great actress, would love to see her return.

JellyBeanFactory · 01/03/2025 14:52

Mary never mentions them 🤷‍♀️

But then, not many characters do mention family who used to be on the street. Although "the girls" have been in conversations with Kev's latest story.

bizzey · 01/03/2025 15:30

Did Mary's son end up working in the gift shop of some marine place ?

Maybe they’ll be back then. I mean, they should be considering what Kevin is going through

He always worked there but lied and told her he was a marine biologist.

JMSA · 01/03/2025 16:45

I know David is popular on here and yeah, he's sardonic and funny.
However, in reality, nobody could stay married to him. He's a loser who fucks absolutely everything up.

eggandonion · 01/03/2025 16:55

Rita used to go and visit Mavis. Most people just vanish. Although long lost relations may turn up if necessary.

Oh yes, like Deirdre's airline pilot who turned out to be working in the Manchester airport branch of Tie Rack.

I just watched Thursday's episode and enjoyed it - good script (and no Swain!) I fast forwarded through the YOI, couldn’t care less about that. But mainly it was good character based drama. They even got some humour out of the David storyline.

I thought Michael Levell played it really well, I felt really sorry for Kev. Ronnie was particularly annoying for plot reasons but that aside you could feel Kev’s pain and feeling of isolation. ML really doesn't look well which I hope is for character reasons.

They storylined Cassie all wrong. They should have had her starting out by scamming, then gradually realising she was on to a good thing, and the scam being revealed only after she had already turned over a new leaf, rather than still caning the credit card. As it is, it looks like everyone (except Tracey!) is going to go “oh well I suppose you can stay”, and she'll get away with it just like Abi does.

I think they should have left the stealing part out altogether and just had her drugging him to keep her job. Makes more sense than flogging an air fryer and random electrical items when she was already under suspicion of doing it anyway.

The "I just liked feeling needed" angle might have been easier to forgive than the drugging to rob him blind!

Shellingbynight · 01/03/2025 18:00

I agree that would have made more sense. But it is less forgiveable, as making a 90 year old man 'a bit drowsy' could have resulted in his death from a fall. And although they seem to have forgotten, before the antihistamines she gave him an overdose of one of his heart meds - statins? BP meds? can't remember but he ended up in hospital and she made him think he'd accidentally taken too much. To me that is worse than the credit card spree.

Oh it's definitely worse, the drugging. I just mean you could understand how a very stupid person might have thought it was harmless and might gain a bit of sympathy if they played it that they liked being needed etc.

Buying things on his credit card to flog, then saying you did it as you've never really owned anything just doesn't make it sound any less callous to me!

MissDeborah · 01/03/2025 18:19

Cassie is a drug addict though.
She hasn't addressed her issues so it's realistic that she will have other impulses such as stealing and overspending instead of drugs to self medicate her emotional pain.
I thought it was well done but the discovery was swift, I did call it though that " Kenny" was onto her 😊
I think she gave him too much warfarin or blood thinner .
The worst and most calculated bit was the drugging him to make it appear he had moments of forgetfulness and was developing dementia so if she was caught she could say he ordered things-like the hair straighteners
Unforgivable 😓
