I think it's because Minah has been so popular since the start. And Minah was all about 'girl power' and wanted to win with Charlotte but Charlotte was trying to get Minah out the minute she became a traitor.

I imagine that was largely a producer decision in the editing room, to try to create a bit of tension in the traitors’ intra -relationships.

It’s been so drama-free this season.

There was no internal skulduggery at all. Armani was banished without apparently suspecting a thing in advance, Linda and Minah got on like a house on fire and Linda gave Minah permission to banish her when it was clear she would get a lot of votes, and Charlotte blended well with Minah as a late recruit. Minah, after Armani left, being a calm, low-key individual, probably set the tone for pleasant, drama-free traitors’ meetings.

Which is why she’s liked so much both in the game and by viewers, but why the producers might be anxious to try to suggest a bit internal dissent (‘conniving’ Charlotte pulling the wool over the eyes of ‘trusting in the Sisterhood’ Minah!) to try to make for better tv.

I mean, virtually all the ‘drama’ this season has been personality clashes among the Faithful. But imagine if they’d cast gobby, abrasive Leanne as a traitor alongside Armani, and had Fozia in as a traitor from the start. Probably huge fireworks.

I just think the production crew may have worried about their choice of traitors being too ‘drama-free’ after Armani was banished.

PuppyMonkey · 23/01/2025 08:42

Yeah, so if Charlotte’s name had started to be mentioned by the others, she wouldn’t have joined in, oh no. Grin

True. But she wouldn’t have actively mentioned Charlotte’s name or tried to get her out (which could be a strategy to make it look like she wasn’t a traitor).

If it looked like Charlotte was going down then, as she did with Linda, I think she would have written her name. I do genuinely think she wanted to get to the final with her. She was naive to suggest splitting the money though! Charlotte’s face at that point!

marshmallowmix · 23/01/2025 08:55

Beekeepingmum · 23/01/2025 08:40

Agree - why would Charlotte trust Minah - she voted out both of the other traitors.

Yep that’s true! Chatlotte did the right thing getting rid of Minah then …it’s a game and everyone it to win it

Whoarethoseguys · 23/01/2025 08:57

Lentilweaver · 22/01/2025 22:17

If I were Minah, I would not be able to come on Uncloaked and laugh about this
I would be sulking in the corner.

It's a game though, and they know that when they enter. Charlotte is playing is very well!

marshmallowmix · 23/01/2025 08:59

Yep agree it’s a game they know the deal when they join …

FridayNight1975 · 23/01/2025 09:02

i think that, inadvertently, she’s protected Freddie a little, because the rest might not suspect that there was a recruitment if they all think Leanne was targeted to be murdered.

freddie has to fight hard for Charlotte to be banished, this way they would all think that the Leanne thing was a tactic she employed to try and blame it on him and Alexander.

i just think Charlotte has given herself more work. she could be one faithful down and have a traitor next to her that might trust her.

so is tonight’s round table still a normal one where the person banished reveals their role?

also, even though the seer sees everyone’s true identity, in other versions, only one person gets to choose which of the others have to reveal their role to them.

Whoarethoseguys · 23/01/2025 09:09

Nextdoor55 · 22/01/2025 23:16

I think it's because she's openly really enjoying being in that position & relishing it. It's very off-putting.
I want Freddie to win he's like a fragile innocent would be good if he did

But Minah also admitted she loved it too and everyone loved her.
Charlotte is just playing a good game and you can't blame her for not trusting Minah who voted against Armani and Linda and would have voted against Charlotte if it looked as though the table was turning against her

OnlyWhenILaugh · 23/01/2025 09:09

Whilst we all know it's a game, the reason we enjoy the programme is because we respond
to personalities and relationships. Like the players do. It's a sort of investment in the game. Without that engagement with the players the programme is no more than a sort of human "Deal or No Deal". It's guesswork with personalities.

Whoarethoseguys · 23/01/2025 09:11

JimHalpertsWife · 22/01/2025 23:16

Oh now that is a move! Easy to lie about it.

Not necessarily in previous series if someone was recruited none was murdered that night. The faithfuls don't know that they can recruit and murder the same night.

Screamingabdabz · 23/01/2025 00:08

She has disguised her privilege for personal gain. Has everyone forgotten that? All the other traitors played it straight.

What privilege is she hiding being English? As someone who has been there and seen that infertility is not a privilege that's for sure.

Phthia · 23/01/2025 09:13

APushbikeNamedReluctance · 23/01/2025 07:13

Interesting how they are thinking Jake is a traitor. With all the "why is he still here' business they haven't thought he might be a devious traitor who was gunning for other traitors from the start.

If one traitor so blatantly went after another from the first day as he did in relation to Linda, I suspect the other two would have ganged up on him pretty quickly to get rid, as clearly neither could trust him.

Sixtop · 23/01/2025 09:15

Whoarethoseguys · 23/01/2025 08:57

It's a game though, and they know that when they enter. Charlotte is playing is very well!

And all this actually happened last May, so even if you were terribly upset at the time, you’ve had plenty of time to calm down, laugh at yourself, connect with other banished players (and of course they’re the only people you’ve been able to talk to about it) and generally get some perspective.

I think the producers will have made a conscious decision not to do an interview with a potentially upset/angry player immediately after their banishment, but to present that person clearly later on, nicely dressed, composed, and being cheerful about it. And then to have them on Uncloaked being funny and self-deprecating with a bunch of friendly panellists. It’s kind of the ‘no animals were harmed in the making of this production’ equivalent!

Actually, it reminds me of the Deborah Warner Medea from ages ago in the west end, where Fiona Shaw’s Medea had to carry on stage the bloody bodies of the two little actors playing her sons. Even though these kids were really young (had to be, because she had to be able to carry them onstage!) and weren’t needed in the second half because their characters were dead so they could have gone home to bed, they came on, all clean and waving in their dressing gowns, for the curtain call, just to show the audience they were fine!

I think Uncloaked in particular performs the same function for the viewers.

But in fairness to Charlotte, anyone who's watched the other series of the Traitors will know that recruited traitors always get thrown under the bus by the existing traitors. It's happened pretty much every time.

If I was Charlotte, there's no way I would have trusted Minah. I think Minah was rare in NOT wanting to frame Charlotte, but there's no way Charlotte could have known that or taken that risk.

Yes, agreed. And Minah did vote off Linda and Armani, so why wouldn't Charlotte think Minah wouldn't vote her off, especially as a new recruit.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 23/01/2025 09:22

Love how Joe said on Uncloaked he felt he owed the nation an apology about Kas.

I will join you on the new thread shortly, but wanted to comment on this.

Isn't it interesting that an all-female group of Traitors turned out to be so drama-free, given that I think stereotypically you might think of groups of women being bitchy/backstabbing? It possibly suggests that when the stakes are high, women are better team players than men?

Absolutely agree 💯 and I think worthy of discussion on the new thread.
