The Traitors #9 - 'why am I still here?'

1000 replies

witchycat2 · 23/01/2025 08:31

Just two episodes to go until we find out who will be victorious - the traitors or the faithfuls.

Will Alexander save the faithfuls?

Will Charlotte lead Freddie like a lamb to the slaughter?

Who will feel Leanne's wrath tonight?

Will Frankie cry at the banishment?

Not long until we find out!

Thanks for the new thread. Love the title!

happinessischocolate · 23/01/2025 08:35

That reminded me of the introduction to "Soap"

These are the faithfuls and these are the traitors and this is

Thanks for the new thread! Great title 😜

Team Charlotte Grin

Ready!

Hatemyhair123 · 23/01/2025 08:46

I think Charlotte's plan re freddie might fall apart when leanne inevitably reveals who she told that she had a shield. She can't keep anything quiet that one!

Dulra · 23/01/2025 08:51

I am not sure Freddie will be able to turn it around to Charlotte if Leanne reveals who knew about the shield, it may just make him look even more suspicious. What he may achieve though is casting doubt on Charlotte going in to final round.

Leanne will definitely reveal that because she will be convinced the traitor is either Freddie or Alexander. I think Freddie is more likely to stay in if he can convince the others it must be Alexander as opposed to trying to shift it to Charlotte. But if I was in there, even if Alexander is voted out, he won't be able to say if he is faithful or traitor so I would also get rid of Freddie next round just in case.

Thanks for the new thread! Wonder if this will be the last of the series or if we will need another one?

TokyoSushi · 23/01/2025 08:59

Checking in! Team Alexander (if there's any way he can possibly win!)

We seem to average a thread an episode so I'm sure there will be another one

Are we still thinking “seer” as the twist for the final?
also I’m adoring Charlotte

Depends if Freddie has fallen for the let's murder Leanne or whether he says no let's do someone else.

modernshmodern · 23/01/2025 09:16

Last night was the best episode so far. I like the challenge with the traitors having involvement , there should definitely be more of that going forward.

This has been the dullest series so far, they definitely need to change the formula if they go for series 4.

Personally I'd like Jake or Charlotte to win both have been good players and characters.

I think 'seer' (or whatever the test is) will be tonight as Claudia mentioned it yesterday

Figgygal · 23/01/2025 09:39

I dont want Charlotte to win now
Not because of the Mina betrayal but choosing Freddie and trying to throw him under the bus from day 1 - I think she's tried to be too clever there

I'd have to recruited Jake noone would question him and he'd have been an ally rather than a patsy

Interested in why you want Leanne to win as that’s an unpopular opinion on here!

Alexander is lovely!

I will join you on the new thread shortly, but wanted to comment on this.
Isn't it interesting that an all-female group of Traitors turned out to be so drama-free, given that I think stereotypically you might think of groups of women being bitchy/backstabbing? It possibly suggests that when the stakes are high, women are better team players than men?

Such an interesting point - definitely a calmer, more cohesive turret this year (up until now!).
I find it absolutely fascinating that the men insist... there must be a man! Why???

whosaidtha · 23/01/2025 09:43

I think the problem with Charlotte is that she went around offering minah's name. Minah never did that to Linda or armarni. And also the vote was so split that if Charlotte had voted Freddie he might have gone. When Minah voted armarni and Linda they were both overwhelmingly voted so her vote didn't make much of a difference.

DazzlingCuckoos · 23/01/2025 09:44

Charlotte is so naughty and clever!

I feel for Freddie. If they have gone for Leanne (looks v like it) and she says who she told she had a shield, he's going to know that Charlotte has just tried to throw him under the bus.

He's then either got to work hard to convince the others that it's Alexander and not him, or push the (true) narrative that one of the people she told must be a traitor and has used the information to frame him.

If he survives banishment, I wouldn't want to be Charlotte in that turret!

whosaidtha · 23/01/2025 09:46

I really don't want a seer to be introduced now. I really liked the idea as I've been saying since week 1. But it's too late in the game. It really needs the time to build, allow theories to form, how much do they reveal, the traitors scrambling to eliminate them.
Also Alexander seems like the only person that would actually use it logically. I can't imagine Frankie or Jake doing anything interesting with it.

Sorry for quoting the whole post but I'm on the app and can't easily refer back!

It is an interesting point. Different programme obviously, but if you look at the early episodes in The Apprentice when the teams are split male/female (or have been in previous years) invariably the group of women have won the majority of the tasks before Sir Alan mixes them up. I suppose women are generally socialised to be more cooperative and supportive so you don't have the 'i'm running this' mentality.

I think it's only Jake and possibly Freddie before is recruitment, who is adamant that there has to be a man amongst the traitors.

Alexandar has been open to there being an all female traitors team. I think he probably suspects Charlitte already, as he mentioned about her being quiet atthe round table.

newrubylane · 23/01/2025 09:52

Dulra · 23/01/2025 08:53

Leanne will definitely reveal that because she will be convinced the traitor is either Freddie or Alexander. I think Freddie is more likely to stay in if he can convince the others it must be Alexander as opposed to trying to shift it to Charlotte. But if I was in there, even if Alexander is voted out, he won't be able to say if he is faithful or traitor so I would also get rid of Freddie next round just in case.

Yes, I agree. I think Alexander is in trouble tonight, I'm afraid. Freddie may have slightly gained some trust in that face off between him and Minah at the round table last night.

Also, there really ought to be more suspicion on Jake. He's not been very effective since Linda went, and they ought to be wondering why. And he is the only one where they should genuinely be questioning why he is still there. They really ought to be analysing why he wasn't immediately murdered after Linda was caught, given he had just cemented himself as an effective faithful. The answer is that they chose to murder Anna after that because she was cottoning on to Minah. But it could also have been that Jake was then recruited.

The Faithful have been remarkably lacking in strategic analysis this year. They seem to have given almost no thought to why someone got murdered at a given point (which to me feels like quite key evidence, at least in the late stages), despite all the worry about being a target and focussing on themselves individually and why they haven't been murdered so far.

Fully expecting Leanne to be convinced that her attempted murder was because she put Alexander's name down last night (and Minah is no longer protecting her, from her POV). While Alexander will probably make the point that that would be a very obvious move and that it could easily be a tactic to direct attention onto him, he might decide Freddie is the more obvious choice. Freddie will vote with Leanne for Alexander, and thus allow himself more time to work against Charlotte before the final. Charlotte will vote with Alexander for Freddie. Jake and Frankie as the deciders. Frankie will be torn because she adores Freddie but respects Alexander. I've no idea which way that goes. Jake has suspected them both at times, and could be persuaded either way, but I think given Freddie caught Minah last night, he might lean towards Alexander now.

That's all without factoring in the twist to come, of course.
