New thread for Episode 9!

And now (no expense spared)... here are ScruffMuffin's very unofficial Traitors Bingo Cards. No expense spared! Feel free to pick a colour (white, blue, pink, green or yellow) and play along tonight. We'll be playing here! Of course, you could use the excellent chart already supplied by another poster on the previous thread instead.

HOUSE RULES
If you hear something very similar to, but not identical to, the words on your chosen card, the other people in the room get to decide if it's close enough. If you're watching on your own, mark as you see fit.

Have fun!

That sounds very tiresome, having to sit there and film all that breakfast nonsense over and over again.

User14March · 19/01/2025 22:33

Francesca sounds fab a coastal house, like a boat perched on a cliff with x4 boys!

Wonder why on show?

Choux · 19/01/2025 22:33

Yes apparently breakfast and the round tables both take ages to film.

Publicity. She could win a host of new clients or might even get onto shows like Interior Design Masters or daytime TV either as a designer or presenter.

User14March · 19/01/2025 22:38

@Choux that’s what I wondered. Good for her.

Fordian · 19/01/2025 22:38

@Choux your description of the breakfast table scene is exactly how I imagine it to be; multiple takes; different groupings; different order, close up 'reactions' edited in as appropriate.

Pumpkincozynights · 19/01/2025 22:51

Apparently at the beginning the round table debate takes about 3 hours! Everyone has their say. Obviously it’s edited down as you can’t show the full 3 hours worth. That is why it appears to dramatically and without logic swing from ‘I think Joe is looking shifty,’ to ‘I’m definitely voting for you Charlotte.’

Pumpkincozynights · 19/01/2025 22:53

They all arrived separately in blacked out vehicles for breakfast. Some of which drive around the grounds so no one sees who is or isn’t there.

mazylou · 19/01/2025 23:02

Francesca reminds me of a pre Botox Julia Davis.

I think they film the first two or three to enter. Then everyone else comes in in twos and threes. Reactions and snippets of conversations are filmed. Then they realise everyone is in and who has been murdered. Then some or all of the group are taken back out and come in with different people in a different order. There's a different last two in but the same murdered person does not appear. They might even do it a third time so they see three different sets of 'last people in'. They don't know which version we will see.

Then they splice together people walking in, reactions (which might be from when someone else walked in) and snippets of conversations to make a breakfast scene. That's why there is floral stuff on the table so you can't see someone spoke with an almost empty plate and then next time you saw them on camera a few seconds later the full English was back on the plate. And when you see the door open and people walk in you almost always only see the door. You don't know if at that point there are 5 people in the room or 15.

Also why the water glasses on the round table are heavy cut glass (well, or plastic made to look like cut glass) so we can’t see the liquid level inside them, otherwise continuity would be a nightmare if Minah’s glass went from full to empty in the time it took to cut away to someone else speaking and back to her for a reaction shot. And why they were drinking from tankards rather than wineglasses at the dinner party.

Can someone explain why Alan Cumming is dressed as his Nan’s over familiar friend to host the US traitors?

Before I watched this season as a first timer I went back and watched seasons 1 and 2 first
I've seen comments here how a traitor basically pointed the finger at another traitor but I can remember anything like that happening!
Was it season 1 or 2?!

Also end of season two, if the girl had used her head and logic properly she would have never picked who she did. It was crazy!

I think Frankie is related to the Redgrave family of actors.

she looks like Natasha richardson

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 20/01/2025 00:06

We’re definitely going to need another thread before Wednesday. Should there be something in the title about Frankie not being Freddie’s mum?

She's currently on "Dancing on Ice", so the whole thing didn't turn out too badly for her in the end!

PLEASE! Also about Frankie and Alexander not being related.
Maybe to be safe, just clarify that Claudia is not Freddie's mum.

Thanks for this - it's starting to make more sense now. Also why it's filmed in May for broadcast 8 months later - must take an age to deal with all that editing!

Or giant penises ...

MrsPeterHarris · 20/01/2025 00:14

Agreed @Lentilweaver and please also no more about who people think Frankie looks like!

I love these threads for speculation & theories but the constant repeats of Frankie / Freddie stuff is making it boring & almost impossible to keep reading!

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 19/01/2025 21:52

There have been occasions when it's the traitors in the last group, though I think they were in season 2 (I can't recall it this season)

They definitely mixed it up more in season 2 - I think because people were pointing out the same issue with breakfast in season 1. Don’t know why it’s gone back to this in this season.

Maybe because the current lot will now assume that traitors are mixed into the final 3 arriving as they were last year so they don't need to.

The final episode of season one with the “parting gift” comment. The faithfuls would almost certainly have voted to end the game with all four of them remaining if it hadn’t been for that.

sweetgingercat · 20/01/2025 03:40

I am watching the New Zealand traitors which is brilliant, because the contestants are much more clever, duplicitous, cunning and strategic. It’s riveting to watch. This UK series is sooo dull by comparison. It’s boring to watch influencers who don’t seem to have been picked for their brain power and therefore just hysterically point the finger indiscriminately at anyone. BBC take note…

MrsLargeEmbodied · 20/01/2025 06:01

Just started traitors and worked hard to catch up,
Frankie looks like Paula Wilcox
not keen on Leanne, quite difficult, or Joe,
worried for Mina as Charlotte looks to be keen on double crossing her
