New thread for Episode 9!

And now (no expense spared)... here are ScruffMuffin's very unofficial Traitors Bingo Cards. No expense spared! Feel free to pick a colour (white, blue, pink, green or yellow) and play along tonight. We'll be playing here! Of course, you could use the excellent chart already supplied by another poster on the previous thread instead.

HOUSE RULES
If you hear something very similar to, but not identical to, the words on your chosen card, the other people in the room get to decide if it's close enough. If you're watching on your own, mark as you see fit.

Have fun!

Going back to the speculation about a seer-type character, isn’t it a bit late in the game to introduce one of those? I can see it would have made sense a few episodes ago but I can’t see what it would add now.

User14March · 19/01/2025 16:04

What else might ‘turn the game on its head’?

What else might ‘turn the game on its head’?

Obviously the answer is that Frankie is Freddie’s mum!

whosaidtha · 19/01/2025 17:12

Everyone thinking there's going to be a last minute twist (extra character, secret relationship etc) are probably going to be disappointed. There's not really any time left that anything like this would be pointless. Plus the last minute twist has already been revealed that they won't be saying if they are traitor or faithful on Friday's episode.

User14March · 19/01/2025 17:14

@whosaidtha Claudia announced a twist that would ‘completely turn the game on its head’.

SlightlyJaded · 19/01/2025 17:18

I agree that the twist is the fact the during final, existing players won't say if they are Faithful or Traitor. It's a strange twist as the odds are already stacked in favour of the Traitors and it's only the Faithful that are disadvantaged by not knowing.

User14March · 19/01/2025 17:20

@SlightlyJaded this was announced though & then additionally the twist to turn game on head.

SlightlyJaded · 19/01/2025 17:25

Ah ok, then it has to the be The Seer theory. 'Extraordinary power' / the book clue on the shelf / turning the game on its head.

So based on how its now been explained to me, the seer will be allowed to query one player per night, and Claudia will confirm their status. They then have to influence the group with this additional knowledge without making it so obvious that they are the Seer as to be murdered.

So with power comes vulnerability. Needs to be someone quite subtle...

whaddayawannado · 19/01/2025 17:27

Turning the game on its head would mean the traitors swapping positions with two random faithfuls. So the two faithfuls become the two new traitors.
😎

Turkeyhen · 19/01/2025 17:28

Frankie reminds me of a younger Amanda Barrie (a bit)

User14March · 19/01/2025 17:29

@SlightlyJaded yes, you’re likely right! Is the Seer chosen by chance as per ‘shields’?

CarefulN0w · 19/01/2025 17:34

Charlotte has been married to an Alexander for two years. Not this Alexander.

Now that would be a good twist. Are we sure A is single?

Someone suggested earlier that Frankie looks like a Redgrave and I agree with that - enough of a resemblance to make you think you've seen her before.

User14March · 19/01/2025 17:45

Frankie looks like a minor character in Midsummer Murders.

Yes. The traitors not revealing they are faithful/traiter

User14March · 19/01/2025 17:48

@whosaidtha it’s additional to that a ‘super power’.

mewkins · 19/01/2025 17:50

outofofficeagain · 19/01/2025 13:20

What I don't like about Joe, is he is also very selfish.

When he was gunning for, was it Kas, everyone else was upset/guilty but his only thought was 'this will make me look bad now'

All of his comments are about himself.

This might be editing but, much like Leanne, it doesn't make you feel warmly towards them.

Furthermore Joe doesn't seem to really understand that others are empathetic and feel real emotions. It seems really alien to him. It's interesting to watch.

whosaidtha · 19/01/2025 17:54

I don't know. I think a 'seer' aka the sheriff character is pointless at this late stage and is complicated to explain with all the different implications and ways it can be used.
Also pointless to have a secret connection between characters. Why would we care?
I think it's most likely that the twist is what they've already explained and the get ready for the twist was just that it hasn't been done yet.

whosaidtha · 19/01/2025 17:55

User14March · 19/01/2025 17:48

@whosaidtha it’s additional to that a ‘super power’.

When did she mention a super power? Did I miss something? Do you have a quote?

User14March · 19/01/2025 17:59

@whosaidtha I believe so from memory but she certainly said the ‘ turning game on head’ factor as distinct from not having to disclose traitor/faithful status.

Clafoutie · 19/01/2025 18:10

For those of us wondering who Frankie reminds us of, someone here mentioned a character in Midsomer Murders, and someone on Reddit has mentioned Maggie O’Neill. If you Google it there are some resemblances?

mewkins · 19/01/2025 18:38

TheBluntTurtle · 17/01/2025 23:07

what I don’t get is why wasn’t Lisa’s murder brought up at the round table and the fact that she was in the castle group with no shields, so perhaps the traitor might not have known who had the shield. So who knew who had the shield?
I know a traitor in the woods could have still killed a faithful in the castle, especially to do a double bluff, but I’m amazed it didn’t come up at all. It is a fact that the faithful that was killed wasn’t in the group with the shields and 100% couldn’t have had a shield whereas the woods group any faithful could have had one - I don’t think there has been a 50/ 50 split this series where half the group could go for a shield and another half couldn’t at all.

alexander has survived another day!! He really should have been given the shield - he worked so hard in that task and didn’t act selfishly.

I think Lisa's murder was a surprise to no one. It was widely acknowledged after she revealed she was a priest that she was a bit 'useless' to the traitors as she couldn't realistically be a traitor. None of them analyse anything....Fozia came in and started to straight away and that pissed people off. Alexander has tried to at the round table and got sulked at 😆

Not seeing it. This has been mentioned several times up thread but she definitely looks like a (young) Paula Wilcox.

If it's this that will be anticlimax as we already know that

happinessischocolate · 19/01/2025 19:05

@GetDressedYouMerryGentlemen

Don't worry the players won't remember the reason either

😂😂😂😂

For me it’s Philomena Cunk (aka Diane Morgan)

someone upthread said Sarah Lancashire and I can also see that.
