The Traitors 7 (with optional Bingo cards!)

New thread for Episode 9!

And now (no expense spared)... here are ScruffMuffin's very unofficial Traitors Bingo Cards. No expense spared! Feel free to pick a colour (white, blue, pink, green or yellow) and play along tonight. We'll be playing here! Of course, you could use the excellent chart already supplied by another poster on the previous thread instead.

HOUSE RULES
If you hear something very similar to, but not identical to, the words on your chosen card, the other people in the room get to decide if it's close enough. If you're watching on your own, mark as you see fit.

Have fun!

Frankie looks like Julia Sommerfield to me.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but always the last few players in to breakfast are the ones who were up for murder the night before, if they always do this then surely that makes it obvious that they’re all faithful?

Apparently the breakfast scenes are shot multiple times

It’s definitely been asked, almost as many times as “is Freddie Frankie’s son?” 😂

I've been absolutely convinced i've seen Frankie on Interior Design masters, but googling past competitors brings up no Frankie.. very odd!

I thought it was that too. Was there a forerunner to IDM?

myplace · 19/01/2025 21:13

Felicity Kendal?

This had been explained on numerous occasions that the breakfast scenes are shot several times over with different people coming in at different times, but I still don't get it as it's always going to be obvious who is missing and the reactions of everyone else in the room appear to be genuine. If someone is able to explain exactly how they do this, I would be grateful.

That must be SO tedious.

xsquared · 19/01/2025 21:20

This article says how the breakfast scenes are filmed. You need to go to "What does a typical day look like".

None of us can tell you for certain why contestants react the way they do when someone has been murdered.

I'm also surprised the murdered player finds out/gets the envelope in the morning (although I suppose that makes sense, rather than making them all stay up to find out). The edit in the show says 'last night' and makes out they were murdered before bed.

Suzuki76 · 19/01/2025 21:30

Has anybody got a source for the multiple breakfast filmings? It doesn't make sense to me. Previous contestants (Wilf being one) said there was no direction of conversations and being told what to say. Would it not just be cleverly edited? A lot of the reactions only show the faces of the people already seated and not who came in.

I did read the article in which Ivan said they put a traitor in the last 3 a few times in series 2.

The Frankie resemblance thing is so annoying. I’ve Googled all the people mentioned and, while I can see the resemblance for some, it’s not who is in my mind and refuses to be named. The image I have is of someone in period dress, languishing or possibly a tragically ill and sad character, looking up from under their eyelashes. I can see this but absolutely cannot place whoever the actor I’m thinking of is. Although obviously she is a dead ringer for Freddie’s mum 😂

It’s Susan Sarandon for me. I can’t think any roles she’s played that would match that description though!

Elaborating on another aspect of the show that viewers get to see, he said: "The breakfast scenes could sometimes take two to three hours to shoot, to the point where you start thinking 'What's going on?'".

I take from the above, that it must be shot in various ways if it takes hours to film

I don’t think they filmed the breakfast scenes multiple times in series 1 because none of them would have known that the last in were those up for murder that year. I think it is just clever editing though, as you say. Although you do often hear the last couple of people asking if they’re last in so I don’t quite know how it’s done.

Yes I’d be interested to know this as well, the article linked above doesn’t really explain it and the contestants seem genuinely tense about who those last two or three people into breakfast will be. It’s never the traitors in that last group.

witchycat2 · 19/01/2025 21:46

There have been occasions when it's the traitors in the last group, though I think they were in season 2 (I can't recall it this season)

The thing I want to know is, why are they wearing the same clothes when they do the diary room bits? If those are all filmed after it doesn't feel very authentic

witchycat2 · 19/01/2025 21:51

They switched it up in series 2

They definitely mixed it up more in season 2 - I think because people were pointing out the same issue with breakfast in season 1. Don’t know why it’s gone back to this in this season.

Not seeing it. This has been mentioned several times up thread but she definitely looks like a (young) Paula Wilcox.

Maybe Paula Wilcox is Frankie's mum? 😆

ShillyShallySherbet · 19/01/2025 21:59

I haven’t seen the other two series but they definitely haven’t put any traitors in the last group of people to come into breakfast in this series and I just think it’s such an obvious clue.

Frankie looks a bit like Rosamund Pike to me.

I thought Minah was in the last group to breakfast after Lisa was murdered. I may be misremembering.

I think they film the first two or three to enter. Then everyone else comes in in twos and threes. Reactions and snippets of conversations are filmed. Then they realise everyone is in and who has been murdered. Then some or all of the group are taken back out and come in with different people in a different order. There's a different last two in but the same murdered person does not appear. They might even do it a third time so they see three different sets of 'last people in'. They don't know which version we will see.

Then they splice together people walking in, reactions (which might be from when someone else walked in) and snippets of conversations to make a breakfast scene. That's why there is floral stuff on the table so you can't see someone spoke with an almost empty plate and then next time you saw them on camera a few seconds later the full English was back on the plate. And when you see the door open and people walk in you almost always only see the door. You don't know if at that point there are 5 people in the room or 15.
