The six-part series on for 3 weeks every Sunday and Monday at 9pm

will star Martin Clunes as a farmer confronted with dark forces that begin seeping into his rural community, as per the log line.

Clunes plays Nathan Williams, a man grieving the death of his wife two years prior.

Now a single parent, Nathan finds himself embarking on a mission to protect his family, homestead and legacy when his son and livelihood are threatened by local county lines drug dealers.

He’s missed all the clues that the country idyll around him has been fatally compromised, contaminated by waves of criminality spreading and mutating virus-like from the city.

"Now Nathan must accept that the rustic atmosphere of his childhood is long gone, replaced by something altogether more edgy and perilous.

And the only way for Nathan, our hero, to survive in this brave new world is to learn the rules and fight back.

The series will also feature Louis Ashbourne Serkis as Johnny, Mark Lewis Jones as Caleb Williams, Natalia Kostrzewa as Eva, Carly-Sophia Davies as Sadie and Gerran Howell as Rhys.

Out There” is the slang used by urban drug dealers to describe a “countryside” they hardly know and yet greedily exploit through County Lines.

Welsh farmer, NATHAN will stop at nothing to protect his son and farm. Nathan’s son, JOHNNY has reconnected with an old friend, RHYS, now a local drug dealer.

Rhys manages to trick Johnny into running drugs for him.

On learning part of this, Nathan tries to sort things out for Johnny the best way he knows how: by threatening Rhys and trying to pay off the debt without involving the police.

County lines is a particularly vicious and ruthless wave of drug dealing that uses fear and violence to coerce, often vulnerable, young people into working as runners and dealers,"

Jellykat · 27/01/2025 20:39

The whole Kenny bloodbath was a bit boak last night.. glad the series is definitely escalating in tension (i.e less dull)

I loved Keeping faith too. Eve Myles is a fab actress!

PrincessScarlett · 27/01/2025 21:00

Violence from the start and throughout. Blimey!

Peanutssuck · 27/01/2025 21:15

The man who got shot was Khaled, Kenny's number 2 and the one who escaped by killing a police officer. Not sure I feel sorry for him!

That f*cker Ersin though, looks like he's the king pin. there he is being the protective father to his own daughter whilst using and exploiting and getting kids killed. Despicable man 😡

HoraceCope · 28/01/2025 07:26

watched episode 1 now
i enjoyed it
i like martin clunes

butterpuffed · 28/01/2025 14:01

This is very good now , glad I stuck with it after the first two episodes .

I guess Nathan wants to buy the neighbouring farm because the water business will then be his by rights .

Turuk on his way with Rhys and Sadie to the farm to see Johnny ......

deeahgwitch · 28/01/2025 17:23

I like Martin Clunes too but watched the first episode and decided it's not for me - I hate drug gangs, county lines etc so can't continue.

JohnTheRevelator · 28/01/2025 17:30

I've watched all 6 episodes on ITVx. I found the first 3 episodes a bit slow moving but I'd urge anyone to stick with it because it really picks up in the fourth episode. I was gripped!

the80sweregreat · 28/01/2025 17:42

In the 80s house it's known as ' that thing with Martin clunes' !

I find drug things quite upsetting to watch. I’m not really watching it tbh.

I love keeping faith. Thought recognises the police lady but couldn’t think where from

Steve Baldini is the brother, very similar character here. A baddie with a bit of a heart.
Faith’s father-in-law who was a solicitor plays the solicitor.
And yep the often ineffective copper… plays a bit of an ineffective copper!
I still have a bit of a crush on Steve Baldini. ❤️

dollybird · 31/01/2025 19:11

I've been watching this as DH wanted to, but just finding it a bit grim and depressing. Too many story threads that I can't keep up with and wondering where they are going with it. Wasn't sure about MC's Welsh accent at first but got used to it. Haven't finished ep 4 as DH kept falling asleep!

daffodilandtulip · 31/01/2025 19:12

It is depressing, as despite the plot holes, it's mostly quite realistic.

HoraceCope · 01/02/2025 06:45

managed to finish it, despite being quite dull and slow in parts.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2025 14:38

E5 tonight

when Turuk arrives at the farm Nathan confesses to killing Kenny but turuk knows it was Johnny

I'm finding it a bit far fetched so far tonight

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2025 21:25

I’m not sure how this is gonna end
