I wonder if they would ever pick someone who said in the interview that they really didn’t want to be a Traitor? Not sure what would happen if someone refused to take the oath.

I don't think so. Claudia once said that they pick people who want to be. She said there was a player once who they thought would make a good Traitor but they wanted to be Faithful so they were. I can't think of anyone except Amos in S1 who didn't want to be a Traitor, though. I would be a bad Traitor but I'd still want that role because you're much more likely to win.

But then why go on the telly at all? Particularly a show called The Traitors?

just nonsense.

That is such lovely article by Amos. Well if Wilf, Kieran and Amos regularly hang out, I really should get over it! I love that Amis hangs out with Andrea and does manual labour with her in the countryside. Thank you for sharing.

I think it was Diane last year that she wanted to be a traitor but Diane really didn’t want to be because she thought she would be a terrible liar. I remember them speaking about it on the after show they did.

I refuse to watch the 2nd season of US traitors because if I hear Alan Cumming butcher his own accent with an exaggerated “Americans love Scottish people as long as it’s a ridiculous caricature!” Twang I think I’ll thump the TV. The way he princes dollars in season 1 was ridiculous. Never heard a Scottish person say “Dooo-lairs”

Someone else may have said this already, but I was watching Schitt’s creek recently and Moira said dollars in exactly the same way as Alan does in the US traitors. That prompted me to Google it and Alan Cummings says he created his accent as what he imagined Moira from Schitt’s Creek would sound like when trying to do a Scottish accent. All very meta, but basically an homage to Catherine O’Hara/Moira Rose. It did all make more sense to me then.

Rainingharder · 05/01/2025 23:01

I think Linda is Minah's MIL. In the bio Minah talks about watching traitors with her MIL. Linda's comment about DIL having that coffee machine was unnecessary, so why was it kept in? And also Linda is a terrible traitor, so I think they're doing it for the reveal of them being related - I think they will reveal it when Minah turns on her!

Just my working theory (because I'm desperately hoping there's a shocking reveal mid series Dianne/Ross style)

LindorDoubleChoc · 05/01/2025 13:36

What? Why would you say that? I know who Maia, Livi and Armani are thank you.

I queried it because your post wasn't clear. You said Livi and Joe are irritating me enormously at this stage. I think Tyler probably thought Enough. Already. with so much crying. Yes, it was her sister but, come on, it was yet another tiresome (sympathy seeking?) outburst from someone who seems to have forgotten what show they applied for only 3/4 days in!
It makes it seem that when you write 'her' you're referring to Livi as it's the only female name in the paragraph and you're outlining behaviour you find irritating. Simple as that 🤷‍♀️.

Has Minah said anything about being married?

Has Minah said anything about being married?

Yes, she wants to spend any winnings on a belated honeymoon as her wedding was during the pandemic.

Ooh I think you could be right. They seemed to have great rapport instantly in the turret

Doubleraspberry · 06/01/2025 07:46

I think it’s absolutely fair enough to go on the Traitors wanting to play the game as a Faithful. I think I’d have the best chance of winning as a recruited Traitor so would ask not to be a Traitor at the start.

I thought the Shipman comment came from a genuine place of anger at the nonsense reasoning. I really felt for Kas.

And I thought Tyler was way too harsh on Maia crying at the end. I know it’s been a short time but it’s a totally immersive experience and feelings will be really intense, especially after filming the round table for hours. And it’s her sister. I’ve been on intense residential training courses where you end up ridiculously over-thinking your feelings and I can imagine how pressured it must all feel.

That said, all the ‘I love yous’ are annoying and for a priest of all people to claim that someone they’ve known for three days leaving would ‘literally’ be like losing a child is quite offensive.

My minor irritation with the production is that Maia’s hair in her diary room pieces is often totally different to her hair on the day. Which is making me wonder when on earth they are filming those segments. It’s a total continuity issue and makes me think they filmed all the to-camera bits in one session.

I think there a lot of young male aggression in there and I was struck by the earlier comment that they are subliminally picking up on the lack of a male traitor. I do hope Alexander comes back as I think he could be a moderating presence although I’m also hoping to get more of a sense of Leon as I noticed both Elin and Keith had pegged him as a Traitor.

I’ve always wondered about that for the confessional/ diary room scenes on some of these shows - because they are often in different clothes/ make up to what they have worn in the challenges and styled the same in them all. I presumed they filmed them all in one session if that was the case, which would mean after the game has finished or when they have been eliminated- but that would reduce the raw emotion/ untrue theories in those scenes? I’d love for there to be a Q and a with a producer where we could ask this stuff - There is a Q and a on the rest is entertainment podcast where you can put questions about how tv/ movies are made, which is a really great podcast

I am a friend of a person whose friend is on the show so I have just discovered a spoiler! It's not much of one but I won't reveal it. Welcome development though.

I think much as we all feel we might do better, it's hard to be natural and pleasant on the show. So many of the contestants come off so much better on Uncloaked, when not under the microscope. Hence Linda's bloopers, Kas' outburst, Elen's crying.

Aren't the contestants told not to discuss the programme when they sign up

Yes. The contestant signed a NDA. Its an inadvertent spoiler. Can't explain further.

The contestant told their friend who has now told you and possibly others, now you've said it's inadvertant. Silly thing to do.

Lentilweaver · 06/01/2025 11:48

I can explain later this week. No need to get so angry about it.

If I was a traitor and that happened, I would just murder them at the next opportunity.

I think if you turn down the offer to be a traitor it's a given that you are murdered isn't it?

JewelleryCat · 06/01/2025 12:03

Armani was on This Morning earlier and at the end, she said something about Dan and she said wording like “the other neurodivergent person in there” so is Armani ND?

I was actually wondering if she had ADHD.

There are a few potentially ND people in there I think

If it happens in the very end game, it's recruit or instant murder, which pisses me right off... Traitors have enough advantages without completely shifting the field at the last moment. I know it's to make better TV but I hate it.

At other game stages it's not a rule that it must happen but yes, generally it does. I'm not sure I would, though. If they say they were recruited and said no, I might leave them in to make people wonder if they really did say no...

arrigatto · 06/01/2025 12:26

Adhd and autism are really pretty common. Armani would fit the adhd profile on the face of it (having only seen her on a tv show!). Dan is diagnosed autistic. Yin presented in a stereotypically autistic and gifted type way but I don't know if she has a diagnosis. There's probably a couple of others who may or may not know themselves. Which makes sense since neurodiversity is the concept that there is diversity in how our brains are wired just the same as ethnic diversity, gender diversity etc.

Cattyisbatty · 06/01/2025 12:35

Armani reminds me of peopleI have worked with who are too super nice and lovely to your face but bitch behind you back!
