Could someone out and out lie and say at breakfast, 'I got a letter - they tried to recruit me but I said no!' leaving the traitors dying to say er no we didn't!!! but obviously can't say how they know that, and the more gullible faithful thinking, oh well, they must be a faithful after all if the traitors tried to recruit them.

If I was a traitor and that happened, I would just murder them at the next opportunity.

xsquared · 05/01/2025 09:31

I think Charlotte will ugly cry when Kas is banished seeing how adamant she was that he's a traitor.

Has anyone picked up she's not Welsh yet? I thunk there should be some.heat on her when that secret comes out. Daft one though.

True, was just musing and thinking for Kasim, knowing he's a marked man anyway, he could go that way causing a bit of fuss, also with the chance that a more hubristic or thick traitor might give themselves away with their certainty that he didn't receive any such letter.

If I was a traitor and that happened, I would just murder them at the next opportunity.

Depending on the reaction, I might not...it could make them look suspicious. In another series elsewhere, a Traitor got so high on being free to deceive and lie to everyone that he lost too many inhibitions and suddenly announced to everyone that the Traitors had tried to recruit him and he'd said no. No reason, he just got a kick out of it (other Traitors were not pleased). He clearly enjoyed it far too much and it got a bullseye planted on him - banished that night.

Still catching up with everyone's thoughts and struck by how Armani divides opinions. She's confident, brash, outspoken and with a low tolerance to control and power. Some people are drawn to this energy and others find it very off-putting. Fascinating.

I also liked the dynamic between Dan (who gets that it's a game and the only way to play successfully is complete self-interest) and Jake (who gets that it's a game and the only way to play successfully is cooperation and team work). Again, this divides the viewers. I know that I'd have been stuck on the first pontoon, a complete team player, watching in complete disbelief the others row gaily past the money. That's why I'd be absolutely rubbish at Traitors and hate the experience.

I tend to agree with Dan, it clearly isn't a team game and Jake is wrong in saying so. Yes, some teamwork is needed for the challenges but the fact that there is also some element in a challenge giving immunity from murder must also mean that it's naive to insist that the team has to be the first priority for everyone.

That said, I'd probably have been first off the boat because I'm a rubbish rower, but I guess I would have tried to big up my sacrifice in the hope that that would keep me safe from murder.

MabelMora · 04/01/2025 10:53

Yes. We've barely seen her.
I can't stand Joe and his bitchy comment about getting Kasim out so can't do any more toasts.
Going way back, I thought Tyler was quite exasperated with all the weeping and wailing and just said, 'I know it's your sister but it's a game, come on, get a grip!' Quite understandable!
I think my daughters would just go oh my God you devious cow and start laughing hysterically 😂.

I agree about the sisters. Surely if you go on a game like this with a relative, there has to be an agreement that neither of you will hesitate to throw the other to the wolves, otherwise it's unworkable? Crying like that when you'll be seeing each other again within a couple of weeks at most is way over the top.

IMO Elen didn’t get banished because she was young, clever and pretty and didn’t have lip filler my goodness. She got banished because when her name came up she had a completely OTT reaction, which was essentially digging her own grave.

It is absolutely fascinating to read this thread and read about how others are interpreting the player behaviour. I guess that is why the game works so well! For e.g., I also thought Kasim came across as a bit ‘politician-y’ with the toast and his carry on and also that a ‘trustworthy’ doctor would make a good traitor BUT then…it’s also completely random and they’ve hooked on to a theory that is blinding them to everything else and they need to be open minded. Also I hadn’t picked up on it, but Freddie came across a bit traitorous and pathetic during the rowing mission - he’s young and fit - how hard can rowing be???

Its fascinating.

MerrilyOnhigh · 05/01/2025 10:21

Wonderfulstuff · 04/01/2025 12:39

Well I can understand where Kaz's upset came from. Jake saying that he saves lives by day and kills by night because of the doctor connection was a bit much. Unfortunately for Kaz this bunch seem to be suspicious of anyone who can string together a coherent sentence.

Yes, all the shrieking at the beginning, declarations of love, and shocked reactions on the train were a bit of a giveaway that they haven't necessarily gone for brainpower in picking this lot.

Elen didn’t fit in with the other young women. She isn’t very worldly and struck me as being something of an introvert. The other younger women are more extroverted and she was quickly ‘othered’ by them. She didn’t seem to have anyone fighting her corner at the banishment except for one man (Joe/Ben not sure which one.)

Kasim’s toast was a real misstep and rather embarrassing to be honest. But he felt the moment needed marking.

wickedelphaba · 05/01/2025 10:35

Thanks @TheDowagerCountessofPembroke

LindorDoubleChoc · 05/01/2025 10:51

I think Kas will be banished next, unless something very unusual happens in the next episode, so the Traitors won't get the chance to recruit him as their sacrificial lamb. But if they do want him, I hope with everything I've got he says no, so that he gets the chance to stand there and tell all the gang that he's a faithful.

I have no idea why Elen was picked on. She said something about "I think there must be a strong female traitor" - well that's hardly controversial is it?

Livi and Joe are irritating me enormously at this stage. I think Tyler probably thought Enough. Already. with so much crying. Yes, it was her sister but, come on, it was yet another tiresome (sympathy seeking?) outburst from someone who seems to have forgotten what show they applied for only 3/4 days in!

Livi? We’ve hardly seen anything of her.

Yes, Livi.

In trying to track down the possible relationships in there:

Lisa - mother of Tyler

Francesca - mother of Freddie

Linda - mother of Alexander

Thoughts?

Lynda is 70 and Tyler is 29, so unlikely unless older mum. Same for Alexander.

Francesca and Freddie us a better age gap.

She didn’t fit in because she was sobbing like someone had died when her name came up which made everyone sus.

I think she, so far, has had more to say than Minah who would have totally blended into the background if she wasn’t a traitor! I also can’t think of anything Leanne has actually done so far other than pull ‘shocked’ faces at the round table. Leanne and Minah are coming across as more introverted in the group shots than Elen did - they just have ‘stronger’ accents than Elen’s softer Welsh accent.

They could, but people who decline the offer tend to be murdered (at least if S1 is anything to go by) so it'd be a brave move...

LindorDoubleChoc · 05/01/2025 11:15

She's done a lot of crying! She voted for someone who got kicked out, cried about it to the point of the older women having to comfort her, and then started crying about it again the next day. Also she seems to be the worst for saying "I really love you but I'm voting for you, sorry". I think she's trying to get through by being the nice but vulnerable girl, it's quite transparent.

Oh dear.

The DF has managed to find pictures of Livi posing as an “lingerie model” including topless online… which apparently should not have got through the vetting net!

I won’t post the link for obv reasons.

There wouldn't have been an offer. I meant if they made it up.

arrigatto · 05/01/2025 11:20

@Snowmanscarf but I said Lisa and Tyler, Lisa is only in her 60s

arrigatto · 05/01/2025 11:21

@Snowmanscarf and ok I didn't check the age of Alexander (the diplomat). He looked older than 20s to me

Do you mean Maia, not Livi? Maia is Armani's sister.
