A thread to discuss ep 2 ahead of tomorrow night.

OP posts:

It's only episode 2 and there's already been so much weeping and wailing. I've never understood why they all get so emotional at their friends leaving, especially at this early stage. They've only known each other a couple of days.
I watched episode 2 and was surprised/disappointed at the lack of drama. I was expecting a cliffhanger ending but in the end there was... nothing.

is episode 3 on iplayer tonight or do we have to wait til tomorrow?

Someone asked this and the consensus seemed to be it will be drop at 9pm, but from next week no more iPlayer previews. But if anyone could confirm that would be fab as I'm planning my evening's viewing already!

I've never understood this either. I would be terrible at the game because, while I'm quite logically minded and observant, I am the least ruthless person ever and would hate to banish anyone in case I was wrong.
I absolutely would not be able to murder anyone (I'd probably write my own name on the letter 😂).

For that, and many other reasons, I wouldn't apply to take part. I don't understand why anyone who couldn't handle people leaving etc without getting upset would apply. Unless it's all an act for the cameras.

It is so much harder to be a faithful. You're in the dark (traitors know who's what), you can be murdered and banished (traitors only have to worry about banishment), and if you're too likeable/clever/a threat you will be murdered.

Absolutely, and the only positive about banishing a traitor before the final is that you might get recruited! I mean it makes no odds otherwise- if you get a traitor or a faithful out during the first half/3 quarters of the show, it’s actually all about cutting the numbers and surviving (as well as building the prize pot) because if you get a traitor out they will be replaced.

In the game it's very loosely based on (mafia), the villager/innocent side can have a "detective" to even up the odds a bit. They can find out about a single player each round. Of course, this makes them an obvious target for the mafia/traitors so you have to be massively discreet if you end up as the detective! I used to hate playing that role the most!!

I wonder if the people from the train will be brought back when a traitor is caught. So the traitors could choose to recruit one of the people from the train, or one of the known players, and then a random person from the train appears as a faithful. It feels like too many for them all to rejoin the game?

PlumpHobbit · 02/01/2025 17:13

If I was Minah I'd try and get Linda (who's in trouble) onside and get Armani out, she's way too gobby and rocky, the telling them they're too quiet would have made me want to banish her myself

Just fed up of all the weeping and wailing and screeching its like watching sodding love island

Agree. She needs to work with Linda, remove Armani and then turn on Linda. I think Linda is a weak traitor.

The number of competitors is probably dictated by the number that can be accommodated around the big table, which appears to be about 22 with everyone sitting quite close together at the start. Now that four of the other players have been either murdered or banished, it's entirely feasible that the train people could be brought back and the rest of the departures managed as required to ensure the correct number in the final.

They did a thing in NZ Traitors where you could leave before it started and get a decent cash prize. One player worked out that was the best way of guaranteeing they left with some cash and did it. I thought they were going to do similar last night but obviously not. But there has to be some way of deploying the three sacrificial lambs

Yep get Armani under the bus with Linda's help, then recruit a strong replacement before allowing Linda to go under it as well. I also wouldn't trust Armani not to turn on me, some of the things she's doing makes me think she's a thrower under the bus - e.g. being quick to try and do it to Linda. So I'd want her gone before there was any threat. Way to get Linda onside as well as she's been throwing her name around.

Surely with the sisters, they could have a pact to split the money if one of them wins, so if they are on opposing sides and have this agreement, they are currently in a "win win" situation, so Armanis sister may suspect her but could keep quiet for now in order to get them both further into the competition. Not overly fair tbh, should have both been faithful it's potentially giving them an advantage as they may try and help each other from their respective sides (e.g. faithful sister steer suspicions away from Armani and Armani not allow her sister to be murdered). I've seen on other forums people saying they could have a code to wear a certain item to breakfast if one is a traitor - no one would know they were doing it as it would have been agreed privately between them beforehand

TheRainItRaineth · 02/01/2025 19:39

I am really enjoying this series so far. Armani is so irritating. People keep saying she's a big personality but I honestly don't think she is. She's almost personality-free except for being really really overconfident and mouthy. I cannot wait to see Minah take her down - Minah is playing a blinder most of the time.

Felt sorry for Elen. I think she was just overwhelmed and a bit sensitive.

I'd love it if they brought the three who left back in some way. I thought they were all pretty interesting characters.

I loved that, He was some game expert i think.
Everyone else just looked clueless and he just took off! A clever move I thought.Really hope they do bring back the ones you left the train

Not there 😢

paranoiaofpufflings · 02/01/2025 21:07

Does anyone know where to find the music used in each episode? Particularly looking for the song used at the end of episode 2 when Elen was banished. But love all the music they use.

motheronthedancefloor · 02/01/2025 21:08

pissed off no episode 3 drop

Friday night.

LouisvilleSlugger · 02/01/2025 21:43

We were glad to see the back of that complete wet weekend Elen. These bloody weeping women infuriate me.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 02/01/2025 21:46

Sorry if this has been said

I thought that elen was ganged up on by the girls, and eliminated, because she's pretty! 😄 she even said on the BBC 2 show that she'd felt isolated from them. Sad.

Can't stand armani, hope she goes! She's come across so badly

I think minah will win

The challenges are the most boring part. Literally on my phone during those bits

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 02/01/2025 21:47

My Friday nights are dull so I'm looking forward to watching tomorrow 🤭

True and in werewolf there can be loads of additional characters-
sweethearts, drunk, seer, witch, doctor, etc… there’s a huge amount of as yet untapped potential for throwing in chaos.

Agree minha should do this, armani is so arrogant it's uncomfortable to watch her

Hestermofet · 02/01/2025 21:52

This is my first time watching and I’m enjoying so far, the only things I’m confused about is that they said they won’t announce when a traitor is banished but they are announcing when a faithful is banished so surely if they don’t make an announcement they will automatically know it’s a traitor
