A thread to discuss ep 2 ahead of tomorrow night.

What's the point of doing things like pretending to be Welsh? It doesn't give any advantage and it's just something that you could get rumbled for and then get kicked because people don't trust you.

Eldermillennial2024 · 02/01/2025 10:08

Yes the Welsh accent being trustworthy doesn't make any sense to me either

I wondered if she meant because she's otherwise a "posh" southerner and a Welsh accent makes her seem more down to earth or relateable

I assume people make shit like this up on their applications as a way of getting noticed and therefore cast. Then they are stuck playing the game at a massive obvious disadvantage 😂

good TV though.

The being Welsh strategy is one of the dumbest I have seen in Traitors and that's saying something ...

Not quite yet loving this series as much as I loved the last two, everyone seems more influencer-y, which is inevitable I guess. Armani in particular reminds me of many of the more annoying US contestants, it's hard to see her lasting though. Minah is obviously by far the smartest traitor and her reaction to being told to do more was epic. Having said that, there are quite a few people who - as ever - are (smartly) flying under the radar. Can't tell a few of the men apart yet.

i’m a traitors geek, past contestants have said that they film dozens of takes of breakfast and it takes forever, so you see them coming in in every possible sequence so what we’re seeing on the screen is only one version of many, many entry combos that were filmed

Oh I see - so Armani has to be in tears about her sister numerous times? Grin

well, probably only the first time so they could get that reaction when it was genuine and then splice it into the editing… But from what I’ve seen of Armani she probably did it every time and ramped it up for good measure🤣

Does anyone know when iplayer eps will drop? Ie wil they drop ep 3 tomorrow?

Yeah I think they'll drop episode 3 tonight after episode 2 has shown.

Not sure they'll release episode 4 after tomorrow's though. It might be done on week by week basis.

fairytailcat · 02/01/2025 12:16

Why did they think Elen was a traitor?

Have we ever seen such an emotional wreck of a traitor before?

She obviously was not one

fairytailcat · 02/01/2025 12:17

Plus the Welsh accent didnt save her so the fake welsh woman is probably rethinking her strategy 😅

fairytailcat · 02/01/2025 12:20

Sometimes, at breakfast, you only see people entering and standing at the door and although you hear people cheer, you cant see them. The sound will have been dubbed during the edit

obviously not being a traitor has never stopped anyone being accused of being a traitor before!

I think it was a belated version of the "everyone votes for whoever's first on the line" phenomenon, where people just vote in a group to stay in themselves. It's almost all you can do at this stage. Her extreme emotion was probably a factor.

The series does really show how hard it is to tell when someone's lying though. Aaron in the first season was very nearly banished for reacting in a similar extreme way. They saw it as suspicious but like Elen he was Faithful. People do react differently to stress and lies. It's why lie detector tests aren't very reliable. You can be very stressed telling the truth and you can be very calm while lying through your teeth. If it were that easy, they'd always get the Traitors out quickly.

crastinatelikeapro · 02/01/2025 13:14

Just caught up and really don't like Armani now! She's so cocky and I hope it's her downfall. Think the other two traitors should team up against her and get her out.

Mapletreelane · 02/01/2025 13:34

I didn't watch season 1 but LOVED season 2. I was worried about this season living up to last season, but was assured by friends they'd thought the same after season 1 going into 2. However finished episode 2 .....I am a little disappointed. I'm missing Paul's pantomime genius and Harry's brilliance and Diane, and Ross, and Zack's crazy theories that never spotted real traitors, and Mollie, and the Jas knowing everything but not knowing when to show his cards, and Miles, and Andy....Do you think it will pick up and become as good?

Surely there are.better cast twists then "I'm not really Welsh, I'm really a Vicar, and I was a soldier" ?

I really hope they do. She's bloody awful!

Superhansrantowindsor · 02/01/2025 13:55

Armani is a big personality. People surely will question why she hasn’t been murdered if she’s still there a few kills later. Linda is a bad actress. I can’t see either of them two making it to the end.

not all the stuff that happened in episode one so there is plenty of time to pick up, but I agree it didn’t quite have the sparkle for me this time round though it was still a lot of fun

YellowPixie · 02/01/2025 14:33

Armani is doing my head in. She thinks she's some sort of scheming super brain and everybody loves her and she's just very annoying. Her sister is not daft and others are starting to have their suspicions too.

I understand with so many people that not eveyone can get equal camera time but the vicar has hardly featured at all and some other older woman - Francesca? No clue.

Do we think the three people who were evicted from the train will make a reappearance at some poiint?

AddieLoggins2 · 02/01/2025 14:34

That's a whole series of 'good stuff' though; we're only one episode 2, so hopefully it will improve.
Most of that stuff hadn't come to the fore by episode 2 of series 2 (Diane/Ross was episode 3, Miles was recruited in episode 7, Jazatha Christie stuff wasn't until the last couple of episodes). I'm sure there will be more surprises to come this series.

I hope there are more existing pairs on the show. I think the final will be brilliant if there is a traitor/faithful pairing - especially with the new no reveal rule!

Hawkerslife · 02/01/2025 15:01

I'm enjoying Season 3 so far, BUT people are cottoning on as to how to play the game and a certain type of person is applying to play and it's losing it's originality.

I honestly think after this season the show might have ran it's course (or at the very most have another 1 or 2 seasons) unless they really change things up in some shape or form.

I read that Claudia was reluctant to do Season 2 on the basis Season 1 was such a hit so I can't see her doing season after season (like Big Brother for example).

Season 2 was just incredible. It really was tv gold.

I'm thinking the same. I've watched a lot of seasons from different countries now and you do see the same things playing out, despite efforts to change it up and keep it fresh. I really dislike this new idea of not revealing what they are in the finale. It's unfair enough as it is but that takes away a serious opportunity to use logic and reason for the Faithfuls, and those are thin enough on the ground already. I'm enjoying this series but I'm not absolutely hooked like I've been before. I'm also starting to get tired of people glorying in what great liars they are. I know it's kind of essential to the game but I really preferred it before there was quite that much hubris.

motheronthedancefloor · 02/01/2025 15:24

is episode 3 on iplayer tonight or do we have to wait til tomorrow?

witchycat2 · 02/01/2025 15:48

It is so much harder to be a faithful. You're in the dark (traitors know who's what), you can be murdered and banished (traitors only have to worry about banishment), and if you're too likeable/clever/a threat you will be murdered.

Jaz from S2 was the best player I've ever seen on any series. So, so smart. I'm glad he was Faithful because he wouldn't have had to be so clever if he had been a Traitor. I've never yelled at my TV so much...
