The most gripping reality game show is back! Tune in to BBC1 at 8pm on New Year's Day.

I'm buzzing!

I've never watched it 🙈 can you give me a quick summary of the show so I'm not going in completely blind.

Stowickthevast · 01/01/2025 09:35

Place marking. I'm really looking forward to it. Agree that an older woman will be voted out first, maybe the priest as a double bluff?

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 01/01/2025 10:10

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 01/01/2025 01:46

Several of them are already annoying me from that article!

There’s at least three I wouldn’t want to be stuck in a house with!

AppleKatie · 01/01/2025 10:18

I think the priest might be a traitor?

Also that picture has two cloaked figures on- just for the aesthetic or are there going to be two surprise celebrities in it?

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 01/01/2025 11:20

It would be a real missed opportunity if the priest isn’t a Traitor, although perhaps that would be too obvious.

I think there are often random cloaked figures in pictures, for some reason

Littleguggi · 01/01/2025 11:29

Excited for this!

CaveMum · 01/01/2025 11:39

Placemarking ready for tonight - I can't wait to see Claud's outfits!

CaveMum · 01/01/2025 11:52

Just read the cast article. Thoughts:

Freddie is going to try to be this season's Harry
Leanne is going to get caught out lying about her job - why do that?!
Nathan is going to try to be this season's Paul
Yin may rub people up the wrong way with the "I'm an expert in communication" schtick

I'm guessing they will have another "relationship" of some sort too.

crastinatelikeapro · 01/01/2025 11:52

I usually just read these threads but hoping I can join in with this one!

I only watched Traitors last year after it finished so it'll be fun to watch it in real time this year! I also binged the US and Aus versions I enjoyed it so much!

Also agree I much prefer having ordinary people and not celebrities on the show.

I can't wait!

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 01/01/2025 13:53

From the article alone, Jack sounds like one of those awful “comedy banter” people, Jake sounds like an insufferable mansplainer, and Yin sounds like she’s applying for The Apprentice.

It’ll be interesting to see what they’re really like.

AppleKatie · 01/01/2025 15:06

Yin is definitely so overconfident in her own ability to communicate that she’ll be out in the first 5 😂 probably banished.

dapsnotplimsolls · 01/01/2025 15:22

@witchycat2 - is this thread going to be BBC 1 pace? I think episode 2 might be on the i-player straight after episode 1 but won't be shown on BBC 1 until tomorrow night. It could all get very confusing 😁

slightlydistrac · 01/01/2025 15:35

TV pace, I hope.

CaveMum · 01/01/2025 15:39

We can always have 2 threads - TV pace and one with spoilers.

ill be watching SAS Rogue Heroes after Ep1 myself!

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/01/2025 16:00

Really looking forward to this.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 01/01/2025 16:02

I've never watched this before but will try it today

GRCP · 01/01/2025 16:13

So looking forward to this!
Celebrities or a celebrity version would ruin it IMO.
I'm hoping the success of Harry last season doesn't attract a load of people just after their blue tick because that would ruin it too - agree with PPs that normal people being normal is what makes the show great!

I didn't know the next episode would be available straight away, although they did do this last year but only for the first 2-3 eps. I think we will keep this thread tv pace to keep things simple.

Looking forward to this and had a look at the contestants earlier.

Average age is 35, only 6 contestants 40 or over, doesn't seem very representative but I guess you can only go with who applies. Fair spread across the m/f ratio at least. I think there's possibly siblings in there but can't decide who.

Does anyone know why it's been moved to 8pm, wasn't it on after 9 previously?
I binge-watched all seasons (incl. International) with DC1 17, just wondering if it will be suitable for DC2 12 to watch this time?

Eldermillennial2024 · 01/01/2025 17:19

I didn't realise this was tonight

I'll b watching this series

TheBluntTurtle · 01/01/2025 17:24

I can’t bloody wait - the fizzy rose is chilling in the fridge in preparation!
if anyone wants a fan podcast to compliment the show - Shrine Podcast do a listen along and do a 30 min podcast for each episode - it was really good last year and much more interactive than the official bbc one: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/shrine-podcasts/id1457331560

leanne is deffo going to get caught out as there is a real beautician in there too who will probably look to bond with Leanne over similar jobs and then realise she’s fibbing!

I think it's 9pm from next week. Maybe 8pm this week due to new year's scheduling.

Are we getting a companion show again this year where the murder victim/evicted get told who the Traitors are? I loved that last year!
