So many women pregnant, is there something in the water?
Wonder if they'll have a son or a daughter?
Joel's story lingers on, that's really too bad.
And now we have to put up with his mum and his dad.

Lauren's gonna do time, I wonder how long.
I guess she deserves it as she has done wrong.
Gail's gonna leave soon, after 50 whole years.
It'll be such a shame, there will many tears!

Bethany's putting on a brave face, though she's had a tough ride.
Daniel's still boring, and Kit's always snide.
Daisy's always got a snooty little pout.
And looks like she might just knock someone out..

Toyah and Nick have been secretly smooching.
Leanne knows all about it though, as she's always mooching.
Debbie's so funny, and Eileen's so droll
And Roy, a real favourite, is one of the best characters of all

Carla and Swain are getting quite close.
Not such a secret now, and nearly everyone knows.
Mason the baddie has gone quite good.
And Betsy always acts like she's Queen of the Hood!

Not much more to review for now.
But it's happy new year to us all.
I wonder how the Corrie cast will celebrate?
I bet they will have a ball. Grin

Happy new year everyone. Have a cracking 2025! 😄

Can anyone remind me please, how did Harvey find out it was David who stole the money?

He has had a transplant. I am guessing more than one with the most recent one being more successful.

Now, it is only Gemma's ridiculous wig that annoys me. I keep wondering who she is.

Yes I know he had one in the past... I think that's when he got excited and started growing his hair originally, but then thought keeping it pouffed up disguised the fact he was still thinning.

Not sure if he's had another. If so, it was definitely worth it!

correct,
my son goes to the same surgeon and the actor freely discusses it, being very helpful to other men in the same situation.

eggandonion · 28/01/2025 15:05

I was hoping to learn more about a head transplant surgeon. David should have worn a wig.

SabreIsMyFave · 28/01/2025 15:19

@zanahoria

It is bit much that Toyah has got together with both of Leanne's husbands.

Yeah exactly. No wonder Leanne feels so much hatred and resentment for Nick and Toyah. It's grotesque, and wrong on every level to go for your sister's partner. Or even their ex! It's gross! 😖 (And Toyah has done it twice!) Nick and Toyah are both so patronising and simpering and wet, that they deserve each other frankly!

Now, it is only Gemma's ridiculous wig that annoys me. I keep wondering who she is.

Yeah this! ^ Why can she not wear a wig that is remotely like her normal/usual hair?! Why is it dark brown?! Gemma's hair was never that colour, it isn't in real life, and it 100% doesn't suit her. It's not even a decent wig! It looks shite! 😆

I don't think Toyah could ever outdo Leanne and Danny/Jamie.

Toyah did get together with Peter, but he and Leanne had been divorced for years, he'd married and divorced Carla in the interim.

I always thought Leanne and Peter were the best pairing, they worked really well together.

2025willbemytime · 28/01/2025 17:38

I often wish someone would send these threads to the writers. I worry they are so arrogant they think they know better. I wouldn't be surprised if there are people on here who have watched for decades and or since before current writes were born.

CellophaneFlower · 28/01/2025 18:34

I reckon the main problem is they're all desperately trying to outdo each other. They could tone down the drama and go a bit more mundane but they worry they'll lose viewers to 1 of the other soaps that's got an explosive whodunit airing.

There's too much going on in all of them at the moment... it's getting ridiculous. They'll all burn out soon at this rate, surely?

Leanne and Danny/Jamie was not as bad as Frankie and Danny/Jamie.

She had been his step mum since he had been a kid

It has to be the most distasteful plot ever aired on Corrie

WiddlinDiddlin · 28/01/2025 20:53

I think Harveys goons had seen David near the lock up and were guessing when they originally approached David.. who initially said it wasn't him, piss off, but within the space of a single episode, gave in and admitted it was him.

I can't feel sorry for Leanne, her morals are no better than Nick or Toyahs, often worse, and she is hellbent on destruction of everyone around her, including herself it seems.

However last ep. was ridiculous - anyone normal would have barred her from the Bistro and reported to the police, where she'd be done for harrassment at least, and probably hauled back to court for harrassing the victims of her previous offence.

Yes you definitely have a point there.

I have to say I loved that era though, I thought Danny was a brilliant character.

But Leanne Danny/Jamie was much worse than anything Toyah has done to Leanne. Lea was in a serious relationship with Jamie (and they got engaged) while simultaneously shagging his dad for the laughs, and she was working with his mum in the cafe. It'd be hard to think of worse betrayal.

zanahoria · 28/01/2025 23:18

For sure, Leanne is no way better but I think she knows that, Toyah seems to view herself as some sort of saint forever sticking her concerned face into other people's business.

Roryno · 28/01/2025 23:54

I don’t like Leanne much, never really have, but I can forgive her being upset and a bit bitter at the fact that her husband and sister started sleeping together while she was being scammed by the cult. Although tbh Toyah and Nick seem more suited - they’re both a bit wet and Leanne steamrolls the pair of them to get her way (while they think they’re being mature and patient!). I’m amused that Leanne thinks she’s better than Tracey when they’re so similar. Leanne can’t see any faults in herself though.

eggandonion · 28/01/2025 23:56

Toyah is a fully qualified counsellor, and her concern is totally non judgemental.
She's also banned from being a counsellor but I can't remember why?

Wasn't it something to do with Dr Ali - Michelle's bio son (swapped with Ryan!)? I think he was stealing painkillers/drugs from the medical centre when he worked there and Dr Badass found out Toyah covered it up. It was when we had scenes in there with characters, a proper reception etc.

JMSA · 29/01/2025 02:34

David's new haircut is SO much better.

I think you are right

I liked the medical centre - Moira was a good character - it was a community space more suited to the programme than the police station and prison that we now see every bloody week.

We also need to see more of Dr Gaddas

Shellingbynight · 29/01/2025 08:26

It was great when they still had the medical centre rather than the prison and police station. And in those days they always had a nurse or two in the cast, rather than three police officers.

Nick's mistake was to not split up with Leanne during the cult nonsense. He has always been a bit wet. Toyah becomes more sanctimonious every year. Corrie have managed to ruin most characters.

zanahoria · 29/01/2025 08:47

A proper community centre would be a good idea, especially for the younger kids. I never really got the thing about Yasmin buying the butchers shop and turning it into a community centre.

eggandonion · 29/01/2025 14:28

The community centre is stupid and should become a pound shop. I like a good pound shop. Brian could run that as well as the Kabin.
I loved Dr Ali, and woulike him to come back. I'm sure he could work in the factory, or run the Rovers for Carla. Or donate a kidney or something heroic.
I go to the GP about 3 times a year, also the dentist. I don't tend to go to prison, or spend time in a private hospital room. Aggie needs to be replaced by a nurse in the health centre.

Shellingbynight · 29/01/2025 15:05

We never even see the Kabin, never mind a new shop! That is one of the worst crimes of modern Corrie, no scenes in the Kabin. 😦

MonickerMonica · 29/01/2025 16:52

Yes we need a new nurse on the street. As long as she's not called Wendy. 😟🩺

zanahoria · 29/01/2025 17:09

And what happened to Gary's junk shop?

Is he still selling stuff that looks like it has been thrown into a skip at the end of a car boot sale?

eggandonion · 29/01/2025 17:33

We hardly ever see the lovely Gary now.

zanahoria · 29/01/2025 18:16

The precinct hardly gets used either, I quite liked the charity shop
