So many women pregnant, is there something in the water?
Wonder if they'll have a son or a daughter?
Joel's story lingers on, that's really too bad.
And now we have to put up with his mum and his dad.

Lauren's gonna do time, I wonder how long.
I guess she deserves it as she has done wrong.
Gail's gonna leave soon, after 50 whole years.
It'll be such a shame, there will many tears!

Bethany's putting on a brave face, though she's had a tough ride.
Daniel's still boring, and Kit's always snide.
Daisy's always got a snooty little pout.
And looks like she might just knock someone out..

Toyah and Nick have been secretly smooching.
Leanne knows all about it though, as she's always mooching.
Debbie's so funny, and Eileen's so droll
And Roy, a real favourite, is one of the best characters of all

Carla and Swain are getting quite close.
Not such a secret now, and nearly everyone knows.
Mason the baddie has gone quite good.
And Betsy always acts like she's Queen of the Hood!

Not much more to review for now.
But it's happy new year to us all.
I wonder how the Corrie cast will celebrate?
I bet they will have a ball.

That other prisoner who keeps trying to intimidate Lauren looks like she's big trouble and unless she's yet another pointless and soon to be forgotten character then another storyline may be round the corner just to annoy us all even more 🙄😠

Daisy can bugger off. Beverage can come back and run the Rovers as she was a good no nonsense landlady back in the day. But I like Jenny too. 🍷🥃🍾

I was surprised when Kevin said "balls", but thought that it was more realistic.

I can't bear Betsy and her irritating voice.

Fed up of all the constant drama. They need to have a full Rovers back with all the neighbours in and some gentle and humorous storylines to go alongside the bigger dramatic ones.

Another one surprised ( shocked actually ) when Kevin said ‘balls’ - not sure why as it’s not a swear word or anything, just wasn’t expecting it.

I am so done with Lauren, she actually annoys me more than Betsy does.
Her storyline has been dragging on for so long it’s now beyond boring.

Now I've caught up with the last 40 posts I'm thinking I must have missed Friday's episode, but weirdly I do remember Kev saying balls.

That stands out hugely for me too. What does that say about us?! 😂

I was slightly taken aback by Kevin saying balls too. It jarred, I don't think he would have said that. If I remember rightly when he was telling his wife later, he said something like 'down there', which was much more Keviny.

Yeah, I think it's pretty much just reality tv that they are 'allowed' to do, isn't it? Big Brother, Dancing on Ice, Strictly Come Dancing, I'm a Celebrity etc. I've never seen them doing any other dramas or TV series, or sitcoms or anything. (Whilst they are currently in Corrie/contracted to them.) As you say, they're pretty much tied to Corrie apart from reality TV, it seems.

Puts me in mind of a friend of my brother. He went to get a job with the Railways a couple of years ago... As an on-board conductor/pushing the food trolley around. It was a 34 hours a week contract. But he wanted to maintain his job at McDonald's (as a crew member,) and do maybe 8 to 10 hours a week there when he wasn't working on the trains, to keep his 50% discount, and keep in with the social life there, and still see his friends.

But the train company said it's 'strictly forbidden,' and said 'if you want that other job - you pick that job. It's either them or us,' and they completely refused to do let him do both. He liked his job at McDonalds but they wouldn't give him more than 16 hours a week. He ended up picking the train job, and seeing his mates every couple of weeks, but he disliked the job so much that he went back to McDonalds after 6 months! He managed to grab more hours some weeks, and after another 6-7 months, he ended up getting a job as shift manager and working 36 hours a week, so he's happy now anyway!

I don't know how many companies do this. (Refuse to allow you to do any more work - with another employer, because you are 'contracted' to them. But they should do if they are not giving you any (hardly.) Maybe it's a thing with some employers, but I do know quite a number of people who do work two jobs. (Some three!) So obviously some companies don't mind it. (I mean they only work 8-12 hours in each one, but it's still 2-3 jobs. Corrie seems very possessive over their employees but don't really want to look after them properly when they've got them. Sounds like a lot of employers to be honest.

I also noticed Kevin saying balls and felt, like the stabbing episode, that the scene between him and Tim was quite public informationy.

Vicky Entwistle had a rant a while back I think about similar things Beverage Callard was saying. There was mention of how badly they had treated Sean Wilson.

Re the strict rules which cast members have to adhere to and not "act" anywhere else. It's occurred to me that some of them are eager to do I'm a Celeb etc. purely for the cash (I believe it's well paid) and before anyone says OBVIOUSLY perhaps some of them really don't want to risk breaking bones on the ice or eating animal balls (at least they aren't Kevin's) but they have children and bills to pay like everyone else. Unlike the sitcom/soap actors in the USA ours are not on millionaire wages 😕

I'm sure she was in Hollyoaks. Definitely seen her in something anyway.

It looks like she's targeting Lauren for a reason, like Joel's dodgy parents have paid someone to get someone to rile her. It's ridiculous otherwise if she's starting trouble when it looks like she's about to get out.

She may have been in Nightsleeper too as the bar tender I think.

Aren't corrie actors only allowed to do itv reality shows ? I've seen them in dancing on ice and I'm a celeb, but not strictly?

They'll be contracted to the channel I guess. Faye did strictly but only after she left.

I guess if I was auditioning for a soap I'd take whether I wanted to wear high heels or skates/eat a penis into consideration 😂

I can't watch Kevin too closely. I'm assuming it's his previous (?) alcohol addiction that makes him so shaky and stiff with his movements? Or does he have another medical condition?
