So many women pregnant, is there something in the water?
Wonder if they'll have a son or a daughter?
Joel's story lingers on, that's really too bad.
And now we have to put up with his mum and his dad.

Lauren's gonna do time, I wonder how long.
I guess she deserves it as she has done wrong.
Gail's gonna leave soon, after 50 whole years.
It'll be such a shame, there will many tears!

Bethany's putting on a brave face, though she's had a tough ride.
Daniel's still boring, and Kit's always snide.
Daisy's always got a snooty little pout.
And looks like she might just knock someone out..

Toyah and Nick have been secretly smooching.
Leanne knows all about it though, as she's always mooching.
Debbie's so funny, and Eileen's so droll
And Roy, a real favourite, is one of the best characters of all

Carla and Swain are getting quite close.
Not such a secret now, and nearly everyone knows.
Mason the baddie has gone quite good.
And Betsy always acts like she's Queen of the Hood!

Not much more to review for now.
But it's happy new year to us all.
I wonder how the Corrie cast will celebrate?
I bet they will have a ball.

Re the going private. I think what was said is that there is a chance Rob won’t be allowed to give the kidney as the cost to the NHS would be massive as they have to keep him under supervision or whatever. But if they go private than that will pay for it and he’ll be allowed?? Or something.

I was just going to ask what’s gone wrong. The writing and production seems so disjointed.
Dee pregnant on screen for whole hour — now disappeared.
Frankie ill, same now barely mentioned.
Cassie drugging Ken/ not drugging Ken/ back to drugging Ken with no real storyline.
Carla’s kidney out of nowhere , death of Mason, PTSD Abi when other storylines haven’t been completed.
It’s all very messy. When you watch Classic Corrie it all flows so much better.

You have hit the nail on the head. No flow and disjointed story lines. Or stories that carry on so long viewers forget (well, I do) what happened in the first place!
What happened to Chesney and his mysterious van man. Or the inheritance and the appearance of the guy who said it was negligence that led to Les' death.
Tracey returns apparently for good but no mention of why or what has happened to Tommy.
The engagement of Dev and Bernie, never mentioned again.

Baby Alfie is so cute. Abi or rather Sally who plays her is an excellent actress, too.

I don’t get that at all from Daniel. I think he’s quite humble

I assumed something like that but the conversation definitely wasn't complete and seemed to go from "might not" to musing private then all of a sudden it has to be private, it's going to cost 100k and within an hour Carla is calling in her debts to pay for it, before finally deciding to take money off a teenager left to her by her dead mother whose wife Carla is now knocking off (and who could barely manage lunch in the bistro with her up until a week ago and looked like she'd never accept her mum moving on).... And yesterday she wasn't even accepting the bloody kidney!

Phew.... life moves fast in corrie. I couldn't even fit any full stops in 😅

I was coming on the thread to ask what has happened to DeeDee and the pregnancy and the baby saving Frankie with bone marrow or whatever it was? Was starting to wonder did I imagine it or miss the resolution!

I am 100% sure this has not been resolved. The programme makers are hoping we will forget about it I expect!

Also, Betsy giving Carla £50,000 of the money her mum left her is such bullshit. As if that would happen! If my mum had died when I was younger, and her partner who was left - got a new partner, like HELL would I be throwing £50,000 at this new partner for private medical treatment, especially after they had been together only around 10 weeks, like Carla and Swain!

What a stupid storyline. I would do this for no-one except my 2 adult DC and my DH. As a teen (like Betsy is) who has just lost their mum, I would have done it for no-one except my parents and my brother.

Sad for Kevin. Hopefully his lump in his 'balls' is benign. I was surprised when he said 'balls' on Corrie last night though tbh! Nothing wrong with it, but it seems like slightly rude slang, so I was surprised they didn't say 'testicles.'

Agree about Dev being dreadful now. Kinda hope they axe him next to be honest!

I really don't like Daisy and her annoying pouty lips, but I can't stand Bethany either! Even Sarah annoys me now too. Her character is so boring and wet and pointless. What does she actually do for a living? She used to help run the factory, but she is never there now. And she really annoys me (when she is slightly puzzled about something,) and she bites her bottom lip. I really used to like Sarah, but she can be axed now too!

Also, I CANNOT bring myself to care about Lauren, OR Frankie.

I hate it when Sarah says "darling". I don't know why but she's said it for years and it always sounds really insincere, like it's not a term of affection she'd choose to use.

Beverage Callard spoke out about the way actors were used and it wasn't pretty.
She blamed them for her MH issues as regular cast members were given restricted screen time to save money.
Hence people suddenly reappear / disappear and its incredibly disjointed.
Many scenes were of normal human emotion but now it's endless drama , dropped immediately.
If baby Frankie had AA he would be extremely sick but its all forgotten and he's happily gurgling back in prison

I love the name Beverage, my phone auto corrects too. I wish it corrected Bethany to Beverage.
Sarah spends her time swishing round the street and in the Rovers. Surely she should be in the factory while Carla is being very ill indeed. Production will all be moved to Norwich, mass unemployment on the street.

I did think Beverage was a great name for a former barmaid at the Rovers 🤣🤣

Seems like the Corrie makers use people like many employers do these days. Give them zero hours/low hours contracts and just use them when it suits. I bet many of them are not even on that high a salary now yearly. (Except maybe the ones who have been there pre 2000s...)

I'm not sure how the pay compares to the old days if in today's money but for an actor that appears a lot it must be much longer hours as there are so many more episodes now. Perhaps that's why they seem to appear a lot in bursts then disappear for a bit?

I agree though, it's very disjointed and feel they have too much going on at once and it's hard to keep up. Almost every household has a major issue going on at the moment bar Eileen's house - they're non existent.

The main issue is they are strictly tied to Corrie
No work allowed elsewhere so incomes were slashed.

But Beverley herself was in I'm a Celeb, as was kirk, Tyrone and probably more. Isn't Chesney in dancing on ice at the mo?
