So many women pregnant, is there something in the water?
Wonder if they'll have a son or a daughter?
Joel's story lingers on, that's really too bad.
And now we have to put up with his mum and his dad.

Lauren's gonna do time, I wonder how long.
I guess she deserves it as she has done wrong.
Gail's gonna leave soon, after 50 whole years.
It'll be such a shame, there will many tears!

Bethany's putting on a brave face, though she's had a tough ride.
Daniel's still boring, and Kit's always snide.
Daisy's always got a snooty little pout.
And looks like she might just knock someone out..

Toyah and Nick have been secretly smooching.
Leanne knows all about it though, as she's always mooching.
Debbie's so funny, and Eileen's so droll
And Roy, a real favourite, is one of the best characters of all

Carla and Swain are getting quite close.
Not such a secret now, and nearly everyone knows.
Mason the baddie has gone quite good.
And Betsy always acts like she's Queen of the Hood!

Not much more to review for now.
But it's happy new year to us all.
I wonder how the Corrie cast will celebrate?
I bet they will have a ball.

They are doing a big cull it feels like ..
Mason , Dylan .... who's next ....

I was just annoyed by the last episode.

No way would a real police officer go at Dylan like he's some sort of hardened criminal they're trying to crack.

Dylan is however a fucking coward, he's been written that way before, and still Sean doesn't get it, at all - taking the knife was a stupid thing to do, a thing Mason told him was stupid... but kids do do stupid things. But running away and hiding and not for a second checking on Mason beyond ringing him a couple of times... ugh. There are enough adults in his world he could have told someone he thought Mason was in danger! Infuriating.

HIs prints will be all over the knife, he will blame Sean, Sean will doubt his actions, lots of face pulling and misery.

Hope is back to being a nasty bag of tricks, pulling pranks and filming them so I suspect we're looking for a TikTok challenge gone wrong type storyline soon.

Abi's PTSD will spiral, Kev will tell her he is there for her blah blah and the minute she has more than a egg-bowl-dropping wobble, he will ditch her and leave her to sink, as he has done many times before.

Because there'd be absolutely no reason for it. It would render the Deedee storyline pointless and there'd be no shocking reveal - Joel is dead and Bobby isn't a major character and is single.

Yes I saw that. His mother even said she wasn’t surprised he was killed the life he was leading. Still shocking and sad.

I wouldn’t be sorry to see the back of Sean either, He doesn’t bring anything to the show imo.

I think the only thing Bobby's test will show is that he isn't a match.

It's a shame about Sean. I am watching him on Classic (2005) and he was actually a good character back then. I don't know when the rot set in but it was a long time ago!

The Sean of the last few years has been awful but he was excellent last night IMO when he learned of Dylan's involvement in the stabbing. Very convincing and none of his usual flouncing about.
The character I find cringeworthy just now is Craig the policeman. He always looks a bit scared and in the wrong job 😁

I thought Betsy seemed a bit better, bit less little lamb, stuttery wet lettuce.

Im also not sure the point of Evelyns storyline, unless it is simply to lose Maureen Lipman a bit more so she can do fewer hours but still remain fairly 'current'.

Maybe putting her into direct contact with students, she'll see more of what Hope et al are up to online?

Makes zero sense to me. Why on EARTH would an elderly lady (around 80) go into University Halls with multiple 100s of 18-21 year old students living there? Moreover, why would an elderly lady (around 80,) be doing a bloody University Degree? (And why would it be starting in January?!)

Re Carla's kidney.I remember when she had her first transplant, the day she left hospital she was straight into the Rovers and downing wine.No wonder it has failed.Or is it her other one, the ne that was not a transplant?

Splitting hairs somewhat here but Maureen Lipman and her character are late 70s so not quite 80.

Doesn't make much difference as the storyline is still loopy

In the DM, there are a couple of articles about Corries money problems. There are a few spoilers in there so I won’t link but it sounds very bad, the problems

I’ve been watching Coronation Street on & off since my late 20’s, but my adult daughters just aren’t bothered.
I hope it never ends as it really will be the end of an era.

I’m under 40 lol, I do still watch it but it does need something of an overhaul I think. The storylines aren’t that gripping or they take too long to get their message across so the viewers get bored

Edited to say maybe today’s writers need to watch Classic Corrie for inspiration

I went to university as a Mature Student. I was 24 and I avoided living in Halls!😆 As if Evelyn would opt to live with 18 year olds. I agree the entire idea is ridiculous. Maureen Lipman recently got engaged and said she wanted time off 'to enjoy life'. And this is what they came up with

Why can’t she live with Roy? There’d be peace and quiet and they get on great together

That's what I thought, or at least that he'd offer her his flat as a study space in the day. Probably makes far too much sense! Tbf if they do show her at the halls interacting with the students that would be quite amusing. If it's just to give her time off screen though they may as well have just stuck her at Roys!
