So many women pregnant, is there something in the water?
Wonder if they'll have a son or a daughter?
Joel's story lingers on, that's really too bad.
And now we have to put up with his mum and his dad.

Lauren's gonna do time, I wonder how long.
I guess she deserves it as she has done wrong.
Gail's gonna leave soon, after 50 whole years.
It'll be such a shame, there will many tears!

Bethany's putting on a brave face, though she's had a tough ride.
Daniel's still boring, and Kit's always snide.
Daisy's always got a snooty little pout.
And looks like she might just knock someone out..

Toyah and Nick have been secretly smooching.
Leanne knows all about it though, as she's always mooching.
Debbie's so funny, and Eileen's so droll
And Roy, a real favourite, is one of the best characters of all

Carla and Swain are getting quite close.
Not such a secret now, and nearly everyone knows.
Mason the baddie has gone quite good.
And Betsy always acts like she's Queen of the Hood!

Not much more to review for now.
But it's happy new year to us all.
I wonder how the Corrie cast will celebrate?
I bet they will have a ball. Grin

Happy new year everyone. Have a cracking 2025! 😄

Oh for sure she’s pregnant, with a Mason-ette…

She might as well be. Most of the other characters are!

eggandonion · 07/01/2025 09:15

Surely we needed Billy at Christmas. His first Christmas as a widower would have been worth examining, especially with Gail marrying again. That's a more realistic scenario in a street than Joel, Toyah, the Institute, Daisy, Carla...

CellophaneFlower · 07/01/2025 09:20

I was sure he wouldn't die when Abi became involved. I thought God, they surely won't put her through that again 🙄

And why did he run up an alley and not in 1 of the shops 😫

I found it very harrowing. I do wish he'd been saved and trotted off into the sunset to cook bratwurst with Stu 😞

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 07/01/2025 09:33

I assumed the weird timelines were him having dreams about things happening that weren't real. The lunch with Sally and Tim, the meeting with Liam and Daisy.

Shame to kill him off was really enjoying his relationship with Sally and Tim. Why couldn't they have got his horrible brothers locked up and out the picture.

Was it a deliberate stabbing though? It looked like they didn't mean to stab him ? He looked to stumble into one of them while they were holding the knife.

Did find the whole episode disturbing, the shots of flowers, the talking about life and death a lot.

CellophaneFlower · 07/01/2025 09:40

I thought 1 brother definitely went in on him with a stabbing motion. He did look shocked after though, like he did it without thinking.

CellophaneFlower · 07/01/2025 09:43

The Heather thing, whilst poignant, was a bit silly. No way would he have offered that to Betsy as a substitute for a bouquet of flowers 🙄😂 Thought yasmeen might have bought them for him at least!

So when Mason was talking to Dylan about carrying the knife (I can’t remember exactly what was said) and Dylan burst into tears was that a dream/hallucination.

I haven't watched it yet, but when I do I'll look out for this and try to answer the question!

JewelleryCat · 07/01/2025 09:55

Did anyone else think that when Kit told Lisa to follow Betsy to hospital, he’d somehow remove evidence because isn’t he protecting the brothers or was that just me?

Yes I think this too. He’s tampered with evidence and got the knife himself.

I'm totally sick of police, criminals and hospitals.

I'm really, really sick of bloody Swain <in her silly coat> and her dopey daughter.

DH stopped watching a while ago, I'm feeling rather embarrassed that I still am.

ChickenShittyBangBang · 07/01/2025 10:37

It felt rather like a public service announement of an episode but I agree with PPs - the people who need to learn from it, if they don't already know, will not have been watching.

It's a shame they've got rid of one of their better actors.

I know! And Dev was being a right tight bastard.

JMSA · 07/01/2025 10:43

I reckon the actress who plays Swain must have something on one of the head honchos at Corrie.
She's more or less in every scene!

I also agree about Swain in every scene. Sick of seeing her ... SO many actors aren't getting screen time, or any storylines!

It was like this with DeeDee about a year or so ago. DeeDee in every scene. I got sick of her angsty, perma worried look, mooning around looking all sad.

Now it's Swain with her frozen face looking blankly at everything, and her baby lamb of a daughter. (Actually Betsy was quite decent last night. Maybe her acting is improving.)

And I'm sorry but Swain and Carla are just leaving me cold. 'I luvs you.' Nah, I am not getting it.

Couldn't agree more. It's not that long since Seb was killed by a knife, did we really need another similar storyline? Will Mason now have to share Seb's Memorial Garden?

MonickerMonica · 07/01/2025 11:06

I also thought Betsy redeemed herself acting wise just a bit last night. Until we see her in other roles we won't know for sure if she's got a future in acting 🫤

strugglingwithlife · 07/01/2025 11:22

I also thought to myself last night, I wouldn't be surprised if Betsey is pregnant.
And like a pp says, I was thinking "go into a shop" when Mason was running and went down an alley. Why would you go down an alleyway!

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 07/01/2025 11:34

Was Seb stabbed ? I thought he was just beaten up badly.

thenightsky · 07/01/2025 11:48

I thought Seb was kicked to death after he fell down running away.

CellophaneFlower · 07/01/2025 11:49

I thought he was, but I think you're right. He was kicked/had his head stamped on iirc.

JewelleryCat · 07/01/2025 11:49

Fandom says Seb died from a brutal kicking, no knife involved but Mason said to Abi that they learned about Seb every year in assembly. Why would that be if there was no knives involved in Sebs death?

CellophaneFlower · 07/01/2025 11:51

Yes... that would make Tim's whole speech a bit of a kick in the teeth for Abi.

JewelleryCat · 07/01/2025 11:52

Unless Corrie is rewriting history again like it’s prone to do

Clawdy · 07/01/2025 12:09

Maybe the assembly talks were about Seb being attacked as a hate crime - Nina being a Goth?
