Jane has been in it forever!

No Jane was in the series too, and just as insufferable! Series of unsuitable boyfriends, flaky etc

She was always the annoying friend with disastrous relationships. We enjoyed it, felt true to their younger selves.

I agree. There was no story.

Disappointingly awful. Bummer.

I’ll stick to the reruns of the original series.

There never was a real story, just a series of incidents and interactions.

That was horrendous, dull, boring and very poorly written

Just awful. We gave up. The main couple were always so wet and whiny and still are. Made us realise how good gavin and Stacey was!

Dreadful, no beginning, middle or end to it. I wonder if they were possibly trialling various storylines to see if they could bring it back for a full series? Based on tonight's episode, it needs to be buried.

It's also weird that considering they are together in real life, they have very little chemistry

Was excited to watch it then turned it off and went to bed. Boring to say the least. Jane drives me mad did in the previous episodes!
Couldn't stop staring at Karen's eyebrows and Jake looked ill🤷

Is Jane the daughter that had a son called Enzo? Or am I thinking of a different programme?

If it is her, have they changed the actress from the original one? This one tonight looks completely different to me!

Highlight of DD’s Christmas. She’s 13 and has been watching the old episodes - which she knows by heart - as a warm up. She’d been looking forward to it for weeks and I don’t think it disappointed. She was mainly curious to see what the kids are like as adults.

What a load of poo, ☹️. Time to stop now the kids are grown up, it’s just not the same.

It was boring and a cancer storyline at Christmas isn’t good. Thankfully Gavin and Stacey was excellent so it saved my Christmas TV

I loved it. I agree it has lost the spontaneity of when the children were little, but now it gives Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner the chance to really shine. They are so like many people I know with adult kids. And cancer happens when you get older - we absolutely should be making jokes about it because, in my experience, that's how people deal with it. The humour is drier and darker, but it's still there.

Thanks all, think I need to rewatch! Can't remember Jane at all.

My daughter is also really looking forward to watching. DH and I just vetted it and didn't really linger it. But I think she'll like seeing the characters grown up. We were also talking about Karen's eyebrows...

Jane was Sue’s friend.

Jane was the same actor in the 2009 Christmas special - watched with DD in anticipation of this. Sue’s friend, not child.

Jane's a neighbor/"friend" whose daughter was at school with Karen. Jane was always asking for childcare favours and generally being a CF wrt other people's time/patience/boundaries. It's the same actress from the earlier series.
