BBC1 9:40 pm. Who’s watching?!

Rafting2022 · 26/12/2024 20:25

I think it’s had its day and best left in the past - it only worked when the kids were little.

loropianalover · 26/12/2024 20:28

Taping it to watch in the morning!

Hskatkat · 26/12/2024 20:34

I agree think it's going to be bab. The 'kids' are too self aware, the older boy was never great , was vaguely funny and if it's time originally when the kids could add lib their lines.

WeGoSlow · 26/12/2024 20:37

I'm excited to watch it. It's one of my favourite shows.

Newuser75 · 26/12/2024 20:50

I'm looking forward to it too

grafittiartist · 26/12/2024 20:55

Really looking forward to it!

Ifailed · 26/12/2024 21:08

It was shit in the past and can only be shit now.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/12/2024 21:16

Was just looking to see if a thread

Whoop

Yes it's on planner

I'm watching serial killers wife at the moment on ch 5 - started at 9

So hope to watch this at 10

pizzaHeart · 26/12/2024 21:18

I will watch it while ironing but without much excitement. I’m not sure about cancer storyline which was mentioned. I know it’s important to raise awareness but it was a funny family show so to end like this on Christmas special doesn’t sit right with me. If they are going to do another series it’s different but I don’t think they are planning to do it.

berksandbeyond · 26/12/2024 21:51

I'm annoyed at the cancer storyline. Is this going to go like the motherland Christmas special, where I just choose to believe it didn't happen?!

CountTo10 · 26/12/2024 21:56

Omg! It's dire.

I hated the original to be fair but I could at least see why I was meant to find it funny.

Rollergirl11 · 26/12/2024 21:57

Yeah this is BAD so far.

OP posts:
youngestisapsycho · 26/12/2024 22:01

Boring!

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 26/12/2024 22:03

It is slow but we have chickens a few times. I've never seen it before

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 26/12/2024 22:06

Oh lord is it bad. Deeply unfunny. The thing with it was that it was unscripted to a degree. The interaction with the children and adults was the comedy. This is just dreadful.

TotallyTwisted · 26/12/2024 22:07

It's terrible!

berksandbeyond · 26/12/2024 22:08

The daughter is a terrible actress. Fairly clear why she's not been in anything else since

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 26/12/2024 22:09

Jane is very annoying

Theredfoxfliesatmidnight · 26/12/2024 22:10

I never understood why they kept the original children as main characters once they grew up. The charm was always the little kids, I'm surprised they didn't somehow reintroduce this element with Claire and Pete fostering, grandkids etc

Iudncuewbccgrcb · 26/12/2024 22:10

I'm enjoying it.

I was in my early 20s when it was first aired and found it funny despite not having my own children then.

I now have young children and definitely recognise the shift in the child/adult relationship and how quickly that happens. Especially when grandchildren come along and children become adults when the adults still don't quite feel like adults themselves.

Loving calm sensible Ben.

CheerfulBunny · 26/12/2024 22:13

I've been watching old episodes on some digital channel recently and they're very funny - the one where Ben is in a musical production of Spartacus 😄
This is just boring and worthy and very dull. Disappointing.

Iudncuewbccgrcb · 26/12/2024 22:14

Oh and Sue saying 'I know, I remember'. I think you really get this of you have had.... 'spirited' children 😆

redwinechocolateandsnacks · 26/12/2024 22:15

I used to enjoy Outnumbered but this is really bad.

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 26/12/2024 22:15

Loving calm sensible Ben.

I agree that Ben is saving it. He seems to sweet, especially when he was such a ‘nightmare’ child.

SabreIsMyFave · 26/12/2024 22:17

Just watching this now. Around 20 minutes in. Never really watched it before - just caught the odd episode here and there. I love all the 1970s decorations!

It's not massively funny, but I'll keep it on, as it's OK, and it's Christmassy.
