Ohhhh - can we expect the death of all the first born soon? That would get rid of lots of my least favorite characters - Daniel, Susan, Shula and or Kneton, either Tony or Jennifer or Lillian (don't know which one, but I don't care), William, George, Pip, Lily and or Freddy.......

After tonight's episode, I vote for Shula. I don't care if Usha did get a bit hysterical, it was entirely satisfying!

And the row between Usha and Shula was great but implausible, Shula would never have been indiscreet in front of a journo, she's shrewd and discreet. This row is great but not consistent with the character really. I know she isn't wils about the marriage but come on, she wouldn't have let her guard down in front of anyone I don't think.....

no, that is exactly what you are listening to. (have a look on the r4 website, i think they do chapter synposes. i only listen every few weeks, tbh it's always the same, that's the great joy of it )

Not sure if I like anyone at all but love the programme at the moment, hated it when it got very dull a few months ago. Find that they flog a storyline to death too often.

Sort of like Debbie I guess and Brian is at least a really good actor and a good 'bad' guy at times. I like Matt Crawford too but not when he's being lovey dovey with Lilian.

How come so many people hate Ruth? She is dull, for sure. But dull isn't hateworthy is it? How can anyone summon up the motivation to hate her. Even more implausible than the cowman summoning up the motivation to fancy her.

I do find Ruth intensely irritating - but I don't know why. I even found myself being irritated by how long she took to convalesce from her operation! I thing part of the problem is that I really like David - partly because I like the actor when her appears on Broadcasting House, and `I was cross with her over the Sam business. But I think I disliked her before that too.

I don't like David very much -- only because for some reason I formed a mental image of him when I was about 10 years old, in which he looked exactly like one of my next-door neighbours, complete with pudding-bowl haircut. Plus, he is a badger murderer.
