I think JB should win but think tasha and Chris have a huge fan base. I think Pete and montell will be in the dance off.

I assume that Tasha is getting very few votes and Sarah is second or possibly third in the public vote. This is the week that we finally find out whether Tasha has public support.

gotmyknickersinatwist · 30/11/2024 21:02

Shirley getting in character there for Pete's scoring.
I have a real soft spot for him too, not least because he seems to have real humility, and obviously is feeling a bit guilty for still being there.
Serious imposter syndrome plastered all over his face in the Clauditorium there.

I don't like musicals
Wicked looks even worse than the usual suspects

How can you blanket not like musicals?!!

gingercat02 · 30/11/2024 21:07

Had to catch up from Pete. I'm tempted to report all the WSS haters for just being wrong! The original is just beautiful 😍
Sadly Pete wasn't.

ItsBehindYouSequinsAndStilettos · 30/11/2024 21:10

Evening all
Have only just caught up with this week's shenanigans.
Haven't seen Wicked yet (I want to see it altogether not wait til next October for part two) but not keen on the Charleston.
Annoyed Tasha has never had the Death Slot.
Montell's rumba was forgettable sadly. Wish she'd done Dreamgirls tonight and something else for Movie Week.
Tasha and Aljaz lack chemistry. Still think she'd have had more with Kai (just not in that wig, yikes!)
So first three dances, meh.
Chris was undermarked and I'm not sure why. He'll be topping the public vote and it's a bit late to be actually doing constructive criticism now, having blown smoke up his ass on his weakest ones, but tonight I thought he was incredible.
His waltz, AS and QS warrant his place in the final and the inevitable lifting of the Glitterball.
It will be interesting where Jamie's voters have gone and whether the judges have undermarked Chris to take some of Pete's voters. Really don't know whether he has a Suggs demographic or not - he often isn't second in the fora percentages. His waltz exposed him.
I agree with a pp he'd have been a solid Prince Eric and they missed a musicals trick there - Kiss the Girl would have been a good choice but they'd done rumba already to bloody Oasis ffs
JB and Lauren looked in their element and deserved to top the leaderboard this week.
Someone said why was it deemed brave for Shirley to fully embrace Trunchbull...given the flak and trolling and online abuse she faces a lot, and how older women are judged, and how we can feel vulnerable against the aging process anyway - I do and did think it showed an absolute lack of vanity and absolutely no fucks to give.

gingercat02 · 30/11/2024 21:11

JB should be top of the leader board as Lauren is Mary Poppins, and that is a beautiful song.

AlexaSetATimer · 30/11/2024 21:17

Didn't enjoy Sarah and Vito's dance. Too much cunniliftus yet again, yes she has good legs for a woman in her 50's but keep them down not up for gods sake. Twee.

I loved Mojo this week, I think it was beautiful and she did really well, but she was harshly critiqued yet again and given the death slot, they are so determined to get her out aren't they.

I'll go against the grain and say I quite liked Tasha's dance. She had amazing leg action. The lighting was awful though!

Chris and Dianne were fab. You forget his posture when the dance is so full of fun and joy. His timing is amazing!

I adore Jowita but she couldn't save that, it was really poor. He looked so awkward.

JB and Lauren were amazing!! Perfect song and choreo for a spinny dance like VW. Lauren so suited that character. They were beautiful together. Potential winners.

One vote each to Chris (for joy) JB (for joy and technical excellence) and Montell (best improved non dancer).

Pete needs to go but I'd be quite happy to get rid of Sarah (even though Vito is one of my faves).

WinterBones · 30/11/2024 21:18

i think Tasha fell flat having watched that amazing DWTS AT from Mark and Derek tbh.

NCTDN · 30/11/2024 21:18

I do think tasha has the votes. There's a huge deaf community that will vote for her I suspect.

NetZeroZealot · 30/11/2024 21:20

Pete hasn’t got imposter syndrome.
That would suggest he had underlying talent he wasn’t aware of.
He IS an imposter compared with the others and needs to leave.

xsquared · 30/11/2024 21:23

virgocatlover · 30/11/2024 20:25

At this stage of the competition I think you need to vote for your favourite wherever they end up

Given my favourite tonight was JB, who is top of the leaderboard, even if he lands in the dance off, he will be safe.

BeatrizBoniface · 30/11/2024 21:29

Tasha is a ringer so I didn't vote for her. My favourites were Chris and JB.

KimberleyClark · 30/11/2024 21:40

I voted 2 for JB and one for Montell.

autumngirl714 · 30/11/2024 21:40

I am such a big fan of vito, and I LOVED him last year with Ellie. Something seems abit off with Sarah though? I have thought this all along... or is Vito abit off strictly? He just doesn't seem his usual self in this partnership. Has anyone else noticed this?

Kaftanesque · 30/11/2024 22:01

2 votes for Chris and 1 for JB.Both joyous routines. How Chris covers the floor and keep time in dances he can't even see still blows me away.
I'm strangely unmoved by Tasha and Sarah's dances. No matter how accomplished they are.

LuluBlakey1 · 30/11/2024 22:01

Dance-off should be Pete and Montell- both really poor. I find Pete more likeable with a bit more humility. There is a sulkiness about Montell I think- although she deserved to stay last week. I think Pete will go this week. No one else was anywhere near as poor as these two.

ISeriouslyDoubtIt · 30/11/2024 22:22

Lookingatthesunset · 30/11/2024 21:07

I loathe them too. I think it's the awfulness of someone speaking and then suddenly going off into song, then back to speaking. Either have a proper spoken play, or write an opera and sing the lot.
They always seem so hammy, it's rare to find an actor who is a great singer or vice versa so they're usually bad at one or the other. So many of them are a piss poor storyline stuck around a band's already existing songs, why not go and see a tribute act instead if the real band no longer exists- thinking of the evening I spent cringing at the dreadfulness of We Will Rock You and the audience bellowing out the songs.
Others are just full of banal forgettable songs. I think they're a very lowbrow form of entertainment, they appeal to the masses that's why they're churned out regularly and you end up with horrors like a "fun" musical with singing and dancing about a terrible tragedy like the sinking of the Titanic.

I don’t understand how he’s an imposter? He’s not pretending to be anything he isn’t. He’s a bloke who can’t dance and he admits that he’s a bloke who can’t dance.

In what way is he an imposter ‘compared to the others’? I’m really confused.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 30/11/2024 22:29

Do tell us what highbrow entertainment you indulge in when you’re not watching Strictly 🤨

What a snobbish load of tripe.

dollybird · 30/11/2024 22:36

Pumpkincozynights · 30/11/2024 19:20

I thought that was as good if not better than JBs Charleston.

I much preferred JB's. Much more actual dancing and a traditional Charleston.

dollybird · 30/11/2024 22:39

I see the random nasty poster who gets their threads deleted is Tuckitin this week 🙄

ItsBehindYouSequinsAndStilettos · 30/11/2024 22:43

Well, I'm currently watching Come from away on Apple TV which is a musical based on 9/11 (or rather Newfoundland where 7000 passengers were landed/stranded following the hijacks).
Had never heard of it but it's been touring in the UK since March.

NorthernGirl1981 · 30/11/2024 22:47

I voted for Pete, Chris and JB as they are the oly ones I look forward to and the only dances I enjoyed tonight.

Out of Montelle, Sarah and Tasha I would prefer Sarah to leave but I fear that Montell’s time may be up.

Pashazade · 30/11/2024 22:53

Come from away is so good! Wish I'd caught it in the West End when it was on. Have only seen it on Apple.
I'm irked at the film version of Wicked and I've only heard the new version of "popular". The original version with Chenowich is so much better, really not sure what Schwartz is playing at, it seems to have lost all its edge. (Although I rate the music I wasn't keen on the show when I saw it! )
Anyhow Six was a bad choice, could barely see her dancing. JB really seems to be coming into his own, it was a fab Viennese Waltz.
