Maybe John Torode will try to get the gig for Lisa Faulkner. But she's too normal. The job really needs someone who can express a disproportionate amount of surprise at the production of a biscuit.

And certainly not someone who has ever 'presented' the One Show, any morning TV, CBeebies, Radio 2 or Match of the Day.

If only Grace, Jay or Jimmy would fill in for at least a series.

A few things that some chefs got up to, as related in Nigel Slater's wonderful "Toast" really turned my usually cast iron stomach - notably an anecdote about a fully charged condom and a large bowl of prawn cocktail and one about a chef and a lovely slice of soft, rosy roast beef. Boak! Reading about GW made those pop into my mind for some reason. I have a horrible feeling that non chef Wallace will be back eventually , possibly with an extra G on his name. "Call me Ggreggg, peasants!"
