Found you!

Have you seen this on the Gregg Wallace thread? That’s us told. 🤷‍♀️

Sorry I was missing in action yesterday. I did watch the last bit and thought Peter was going to thump the Thumb. So glad he got shell and bones - better luch next time contestants.

I was missing because this is happening in my house - a brand new kitchen! Thanks to my lovely late Dad and the bit of money he left me.

Funnily enough, I hid that thread because it was too unpleasant! Plus I was disproportionately bothered by the OP not being able to spell his name right - I get ridiculously annoyed by misspellings of names in thread titles. I mean if you can be motivated enough to start a thread on someone, why not type their name properly? (See also: 'Angela Raynor', 'Kier Starmar').

At least our 'fuck off, Gregg' plaintive cries are in the context of his actual actions and comments as they are transmitted live on the TV. There's a natural rythym.

And the commentary here is very witty and entertaining. And frequently informative.

GrouchyKiwi · 21/11/2024 13:30

That's very exciting four!

HoneyButterPopcorn · 21/11/2024 13:34

Oh I've not really managed to follow this! So what's the latest ingredient trend?
Who has a sad back story and is 'cooking from the heart'?
Who says that 'food was part of my childhood' (yeah, just like everyone else on the planet, sunshine)?
Has there been an untrained one yet who learned their trade waiting tables at a Happy Eater and has no idea how to fillet a fish?

RomainingToBeSeen · 21/11/2024 13:44

Exciting to have a new kitchen @fourquenelles although obviously sorry about your lovely Dad. 💐

I do hope you'll have a special Masterchef cupboard full of hispi cabbage, inadequate seasoning, pistachio crumb, special spoons for quenelliing, a sous-vide or three, tweezers, some chocolate fondant ramekins and your special hand-painted plates decorated by a random (usually Italian) nonna.

littlbrowndog · 21/11/2024 13:46

Missing in real times as on holiday and 7 hours ahead but just watched on iPad

yeah the ladies. And the skeletons

Ebabllisstggoffor · 21/11/2024 13:47

Did anyone catch Jay on House of Games?

fourquenelles · 21/11/2024 13:51

@RomainingToBeSeen absolutely none of the above not even tweezers!

Yup I read their reply and was like 'whutt'?! We have very interesting conversation thank you very much, and if you are that much of a mardy arse moan bag perhaps we don't want you over here being a fun sponge!!

Exactly. I was tempted to retort with a very mumsnetty barb, but couldn’t be arsed. We do talk about food, a lot, so boo sucks misery guts.
Well, Popcorn, we are permanently sozzled as everyone has a Nonna, a grandad or a parent who instilled in them the love of cooking. And Nonna = shot.
Cremeux are the new fondant. Lamb is still undercooked.
oooo what’s the new kitchen like Fourq? Be ready for Christmas?

EsmaCannonball · 21/11/2024 15:30

'Fuck off, Gregg!' is pretty much standard MasterChef talk on all social media. Why one earth would you want to talk about MasterChef, Masterchef, seriously? It's not fucking Heimat.

This is one of the reasons I don't post so much on the Strictly threads any more. There are a lot of fun people on them but mixed in with a small number who take it all too grimly seriously and get very angry if you like someone they don't like or don't like someone they do like. Make a snarky comment about the wrong person's botofogos and you get accused of having a dark heart full of purest hatred.

murasaki · 21/11/2024 15:54

We had one on the MAFS thread and they managed to get it deleted.

fourquenelles · 21/11/2024 16:07

@Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride I have a tiny terrace house with a tiny kitchen so naturally I have gone for dark forest green cabinets - sod it I love the colour. Also my dream of a butler sink and two ovens one that's also a microwave and one that's also an airfryer, and a little under counter freezer in addition to my combi fridge/freezer for all the yellow sticker bargains Grin I hope it'll all be in in the next couple of weeks.

I am jealous. I've a shit tip postage stamp for a kitchen. No storage or counter space (and I've all the appliances!), cookers on its last legs, currently no dishwasher or washing machine because a pipe spat up a couple months ago and I can't afford a plumber to replace (plus mam was in hosp), kitchen tables about to die!!

It's worse this year then usual, IMO. I'm trying hard to find the joy in it all, but it's all far too serious, and heaven forbid you use a little bit of exaggeration to make your posts a bit funnier.

I need a vat of gravy to drown my sorrows.

You'll have to pay photo tax, fourq.

fourquenelles · 21/11/2024 16:55

@PotterHead1985 if only you were closer I gave my old half sized dishwasher to the fitter. At least it's not going to land fill.

@GrouchyKiwi understood Grin

I'll miss you all this evening but look forward to catching up with your oh-so-serious chat, unfunny comments and lack of cookery knowledge. 😂😂😂

Definitely. I'm just sad that I can't watch it all live tonight. I might be able to join you halfway through.

Just seen that @Theeyeballsinthesky. I'm actually pretty disappointed as presumably most of his columns will now be behind a paywall.
